My understanding of current NOI theology is that:

"Real" Jews = Jews who follow ONLY the Torah, which is "God given" law.

"Fake" Jews = Jews who also follow the Talmud, which is "man made" law.

Therefore, NOI member are "real Jews," since they (allegedly) follow the Torah and not the Talmud, whereas the people who call themselves "Jews" are "fake Jews" because they also follow the "man made" law of the Talmud.

For purposes of clarification, if your understanding is correct (I haven’t studied the NOI “theology” so have no way of knowing) it would mean they reject RabbinicJudaism which came into existence in the 5th or 6th Century. It would essentially be a reworking of classical European antiSemitism.

Thank you for this. Looking into NOI theology further, it does appear it has adopted many of the arguments to classical European anti-Semitism, including arguments not yet discussed in this thread.

FWIW, after looking into it further I'm increasingly confident that my understanding of NOI theology is correct on the points I discussed.

I was always curious about the close similarity of the 1 800 telephone numbers used by NOI and Scientology.
The NOI number that Gates cited was 800 48-TRUTH and Scientology’s, IIRC was 1 800 FOR-TRUTH.
