I don't ever underestimate the drive and desperate measures a person will take to recover their losses, to steal, to get revenge.Okeydokey, whatever you say sweetheart.
I also don't overestimate the honesty of those who regulate or work for casinos or other places.
Just because people start out with no criminal records doesn't mean they can't be compromised later, or that they weren't thieves who had never been caught. Greed, thieves and temptation are everywhere and some spend a lifetime figuring out ways to beat the casinos.
I may be wrong about the magnet on the roulette ball, all I remember for sure was that the accounting firm found a magnet under one of the table games. I haven't worked for that accounting firm in over 20 years. They did find that every game had some sort of cheating going on, not every table, though.
Proving whether it was the casino cheating or a dealer is something else altogether. Of course casinos claimed it was the dealers. In some cases, it would be impossible without someone inside to help in some way. But the casinos were the clients, so...
They are audited every year or two. Just like the UK, none are ever busted. That doesn't mean they are honest, and between audits, they have lots of time to do whatever.
