Hi Arthur!
Many false representations and promises were made to my family in order for them to agree to enrollment. Yes, I will admit that I was completely messed up as a kid, and my family was concerned about my well being foremost, however education ran a close second in their pecking order of priorities . So of COURSE the reg at MK guaranteed them that I would be studying constantly while I was there, and I was guaranteed be far ahead of my peers at home after graduation. You know, typical grandiose reg promises. The reality was, I just read Vonnegut, Hunter S. Thompson and Kerouac 90% of the time. The supervior never really seemed to mind, and he would have me crack open a math text maybe once per week. However, when scientology course time rolled around, it was serious business. He was like Zeus, striking down the barriers of study with lightning bolts. Flurries of word clearing. Kids stifiling every yawn.
I never saw any instances of physical abuse (hitting, ect). However we were forced into hard, physical labor on a regular basis. I guess it would depend on your definition of abuse. Do you consider an underage kid working in a field all day under an 110 degree sun (with one break) abuse? I guess that we would need to refer to New Mexico labor laws to make the decision on that one.
whoa, sorry to go off on such a diatribe. Got issues to sort through. Lots of issues. haha.
Thanks Darkon!
Don't worry about going off on a diatribe! Let it rip!
Are/were you parents in Scn? I know there were both scn kids and non-scn. kids there.
Hopefully you'll tell more and shine a light into the darkness of that ranch!
@ Jachss99. I don't believe it was affiliated with WISE. However, the school did have the Applied Scholastics seal of approval.
And you are so right about the, "loving, compassionate so theta" line. They convinced my (non Scn) mother that I was breathing in the fresh air, riding horses everyday and really getting a handle on my studies.
Whenever I was able to phone her, with any attempt to tell her about the reality of the situation, the phone cord was yanked out of the wall by staff supervising my call. I would have to call her back and lie about the bad connection.
I was sent to mace kingsley when I was 15 it was about 2001. I was there two weeks before being kicked out. In the time spent there I almost died from strep throat and a 105 degree fever, which at time the other students had to pack me down with snow outside in my underwear to get my temperature to drop. I was showing clear signs of serious infection and had to be snuck out by the MLO (she was an awesome lady that only worked there and didn't believe their ways, hence sneaking me out) to a clinic in near by reserve new mexico. I was only allowed 2 showers the one each day for the first two days I was there. I stayed in a cabin called "camp" that had windows on only one side the weather reached around 2 below to 14 below. It was in November. After two weeks and me causing such a ruckus I got kicked out, albequerque newspaper had apparently run an article using my name which helped with the closing of the ranch. Before I left I got about 50% of the "students" phone numbers and personal information and either wrote or called each parent on my list. My mother helped me. Soon after they were investigated I was getting calls from Mace Kingsley Ranch asking me why I would give up all that information to the Press and soon after that they were shut down. Come to find out one of their security gaurds who was notorious for beating any of the kids that got out of hand was wanted in a few states for felony home insurance fraud for buying and burning down homes. The one girl I can fully remember her name was Danielle (leaving out her last name for this but did recently post to someone inquiring in an e-mail. I've searched all over online for her, she is out of florida. First names I can give of students were...
Kristie (ATLANTA, 16 at the time)
Tim (NY, NY 17 at the time)
Jordan (CANADA 15 at the time)
ROMAN (CZECH 9 at the time)
The camp councler I remember was a guy named Sean he was 19 at the time.
I told everyone when I had arrived that I wouldn't be there longer than two weeks and they kicked me out.
While at "camp" we were only allowed cheese, tortillas, and water to eat and drink. If we were lucky we would have gotten a bagel.
Because of me, the press got involved and parents started calling Social Services as well did my parents.
Theres many more i cant remember. The last thing i want to say is this. Since i left that small chunk of hell i have done great with my life.
i am a 7+ year vet of the army. been to Iraq and back. After writing all this down and reliving (for the first time in years) the experiences i had at the MK ranch school,
i can honestly say i dont know which was worse. going to the war to get shot at and have crazy things come out and try to kill you all day; or living at the ranch school with those oppressive cultist pieces of trash.

obviously you want the credit thats for sure . you think your the first to complain kid. They were on the verge on getting it anyway. Everyone seems to want to to crush scientology themself.
