Scientology Oxymorons & Doing the Opposite

An oxymoron is a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory terms. Oxymoron is a loanword from Greek oxy ("sharp" or "pointed") and moros ("dull"). Thus the word oxymoron is itself an oxymoron.
Oxymorons are a proper subset of the expressions called contradictions in terms. What distinguishes oxymorons from other paradoxes and contradictions is that they are used intentionally, for rhetorical effect, and the contradiction is only apparent, as the combination of terms provides a novel expression of some concept, such as "cruel to be kind".


Man, the more I look through my old materials before selling them the more blatant oxymorons and 'doing the opposite' I find by Hubbard and that we followed and that make up scientology ! To start, I wrote this under another thread but it belongs here.

It's like...sacred scn scripture IS a 'how to' book on how to start a cult and mind control people ! ! ...but we read it as if 'some external mystery force' did it to us....

What I mean by this thread is that Hubbard writes something that is wrong with wogs, society, human behaviour etc etc...but then the very thing he says is bad....is the very thing the church does. It is giving me a deer in the headlights look the more I read....

Here is another one taken from "Courses, their ideal Scene"
"This situation is a widespread thing in our society today. It's not limited to our course rooms. You see it in marriages. It has become an acceptable thing to get divorced, create broken homes, cheat on your spouse. In the worls of big business you're told to swindle Mr. X before he swindles you. This is group agreement. It is agreed upon out-ethics." LRH

So, we have
1. how 'others' trapped a thetan with awards and big buildings even though we are the ones that got trapped in scn and this is how they keep us trapped

2. how scn should never break a spirit, yet that is all it DOES do to it's staff and public

3.how to 'unhypnotize' a person with scn processes yet the processes are designed to hypnotize!

4. Now we have how 'society is out ethics due to group agreement and how this results in broken himes and divorces' ...yet nothing breaks up families and causes divorces faster than scn....and scn could not survive without group agreement to keep the church mgmt and tech out- ethics and people trapped in the cult.

Do you see what I mean? It's fascinating, sick, demented, and ...all at the same time.

maybe it is just me but this is nuts!

I read both of your posts and totally see your points, understand your amazement, and relate to your incredulity. We were just a bunch of dumb f***ks, but I'm not going through the books to prove it. I have all the contradictions right in my mind, and can't wait for them all to work their way out of my mind as anything I ever used to think with. For example, applying the tech we are to learn how to have/confront anything and grant beingness to everything and yet there are things we won't ever be able to have/confront, or even survive should we come upon them, such as SPs or data on conf. levels before we are ready for them.

First of all, how are we to know if somebody else's mind is "half" on something? How are we to measure a mind and ascertain if it is whole or half or 3/4 or 5/58ths? Ok, let's say we could determine with accuracy that someone's mind was "half." How exactly are we to "never let them" use just that half of their mind?

Then there's: "The finest organizations in history have been tough, dedicated organizations."

I can't even think of a "fine organization." There's the girl scouts, but are they "tough" or "dedicated?" They sell cookies once a year. There were chess clubs in school... My mother had a little mah jong group... Those were probably "fine" organizations to their members. But tough and dedicated? The only thing that comes to mind at all when I think of a tough, dedicated organization is the Nazis. Well, I guess there are sports teams. There are probably some fine teams that are tough and dedicated. I wouldn't know. I don't follow sports.

how many SO or staff do you know that were allowed to hold their location? Being thrown into RPF and ethics and musical chairs...., lack of sleep and food....who could hold their position? Exactly why Hubbard di it to them ...to keep them powerless! So he tells us how to have power... , but makes sure no one can get it, including the pc's !!

Here we see scn;'s confronting anons with cameras in front of their noses....we see then now wearing masks! They run away and close the org when there are protests! And they cannot and are not allowed to communicate with the anons! So once again, LRH tech in action by doing the opposite!!!

Here we see this to be the modus operandi of the church in how they treat their staff, their public or anyone who doesnt comply !

Ok, one more of 'do the opposite' gems in scn before bedtime.

This one is leading to the demise of scn as we speak.

LRH says "The product of an org is well-taught students and thoroughly audited pc's. When the product vanishes, so does the org. "
So we have altered tech (basic books, golden age of tech and knowledge etc etc), incompetently trained auditors in droves (as reported here by many CS'es and auditors), and now OT 7's being pulled off auditing (thankfully) until anonymous goes away. They have NO PRODUCT!

We have the recipe right here for the end of scn and david babyface miscavige is doing all of them simultaneously!

So little did you know that all the times LRH and Deadbeat miscavige blamed you, they were giving you power! Did you feel more powerful?

How about #2...so the 2 sociopaths blame you for any and all failures in scn and yet according to LRH's defn., they were negating their own responsibility.
