requires the active participation of the individual being processed or
trained. And the person has to be clean or indeed, he blocks any
chance of case gain for himself. We produce miracles. But they are
miracles for the majority, the good and decent. That we can do this
is a tribute to the truth and workability of the technology. But the
technology is not something that one can force on an individual to
"make him good." When an individual engages in enough contra-survival
activities, he prevents all possible case gain fro himself and is
unable to maintain his own personal ethics, and it becomes a matter
for justice. The technology of ethics exists only to make it possible
to tech to go in--and if ethics are out, tech will not go in.
The result was the same as it always has been. The attempted grab for
power was caught, stopped and the guilty parties thrown out, for the
same reason that this has always been the case--because real
Scientologists made sure it came out all right. In fact, the matter
was so well handled that most people never even heard of this
incident. And that is because the great, great, great majority of
people in a position to do something about this are decent and would
never have gone along with this push. Indeed, less that a handful
participated. The real pity was a few innocent bystanders got caught
up in this mess, but even there every one of them was picked up and
they are on the path up again.
But through all if this we learned a lesson. We saw someone try to
hide the tech and keep it to himself. And then pretend that his "new
tech" was the real tech! A typical hidden data line.
For this reason, in April of 1987 we embarked upon a strategy of
making all of the material of the Scientology Grade Chart standard and
available to all. This plan was to:
I. Review all materials against original LRH manuscripts and handle
any omissions or alter-is that had crept in through the years either
by mistake or at the hand of some SP.
II. Review all original LRH manuscripts to find any unissued tech and
make it available.
III. Review all LRH directions on the issuance of new rundowns and
procedures--those that he specifically directed be issued--and make
them available.
IV. Put all of the materials in a form which was both easily
available and easily studied.
V. Make sure the materials were distributed as far and wide as
possible.
In this period, from 1987 to present time, the following has been
accomplished:
