    . . .
Based on Lawrence Wright's controversial book 'Going Clear,' the documentary from
Alex Gibney is likely to draw an aggressive response from the notoriously litigious church

    :omg:
"We have probably 160 lawyers [looking at the film]," says HBO Documentary Films
president Sheila Nevins, who is bracing for protests as well. If the doc is finished
in time, it likely will be submitted to the Sundance Film Festival in January.

The Columbia Journalism Review on Lawrence Wright's Going Clear:

Those two sentence in the review point out something of major significance. If I were to redact (obscure or remove text from a book) the 200 "supposed errors" in my copy of Going Clear with a black magic marker, the majority of the book would remain untouched.

And most of the important plot points would be left untouched. :omg:

Consequently, I've had verified for me the truthfulness and accuracy of the rest of the book and the main plot points.

Ergo, anything not on the "error list" is too true and factual for the COS to try to refute or lie about.

After all, "no perceived oversight was too small to merit comment" by the COS.

By publishing their rebuttal website and dead agent pack, the COS has unwittingly confirmed the majority of the content of the Lawrence Wright's book as accurate and factual.

Anyways, most discerning readers, like me, would see it that way. :wink2:

I hope you do too.

Giving the Sarge topic (last chapter in Going Clear) some more thought:

The COS is not defending LRH or offering a rebuttal -- that LRH was in fact healthy and strong, fully OT in capability, and clearly died causatively -- about Sarge's comments on their extensive Lawrence Wright Going Clear rebuttal website.

Which said site is very nit-picky about many small and obscure other details in the book.

They're 100% mum about Sarge's comments, arguably the biggest reveal in the book. The silence is deafening, as they say.

Their silence and reluctance to defend on that point is a total confirmation that what Sarge said is honest and true.

They have the opportunity to defend freely on their website. They don't.

Their silence is your answer about Sarge. They don't understand or appreciate that significance of that silence . . . as yet.

Silence can often tell the tale in a session, in life . . . and on the Internet. :whistling:

 An unknown guru once said:

If you lie, it becomes a part of your future. [IMG]

    PS:
If I were a trained CS, I'd circle "Sarge comments" in red as a "hot button" (pc doesn't want to get near) in the COS folders. :whistling:

160 Lawyers looking at new Scientology expose from HBO. Sweet.

HBO knows how to enchant the public. HBO Sopranos was the ultimate entertainment.

So HBO went from one thug group that routinely did assault and battery to the CULT, also a thug group that engages in assault and battery, only this one pretends *Religiousity*

I'm a great Columbo fan and so the following "Bunker conversation" really made my day. I'd like to copy it here, at last for people who don't always lurk both at ESMB & Bunker (& etc) and read all the hundreds of Bunker comments (multitaskinglurking is very, well, tasking - so, nope, I seldom do it).
Edit: The suspects have been informed about their rights...

I'd come to similar conclusions re LRH as indicated by Sarge.
No problems with clear, or clearer as described by Mayo. There was
case gain to be had. Also on upper levels. However going OT
reliably and consistently one for one never happened.

Hubbard put in a draconian organisation which messed with
peoples lives and didn't deliver what was promised. This is overts on a massive worldwide scale. Thus PTS. Thus decline.

It seems like for each of the past several years a bombshell is dropped on the Co$ right around Christmas time.

And now with this news of the HBO Documentary it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

Loved this from the Gawker link:

Captain Miscavige tells the adoring throngs each year how they are killing psychiatry and HBO Documentary Films president Sheila Nevins finds their opposition 'really quite interesting'.

There, OSA, is the howmuch you are impinging....

SO EXCITING! I can't wait to see the shitstorm following the release of the HBO and BBC documentaries.

As most of you know, I've been keeping a thread here at ESMB of all the Co$ bad press for this year, and post a list each month.

Tony Ortega is always on top of the latest Co$ news and talks about the HBO, BBC and "Wise Beard Man" upcoming documentaries. Like Karen mentions, the media is GOING CRAZY about HBO's announcement of the documentary movie by Oscar winner Alex Gibney.

Here is a list of all the press so far today (Nov. 24, 2014)...
