Jesse Prince posted a documentary on his blog back in January. The documentary he linked is an hour long. Jesse poses the question of this being a source of Hubbards dianetics. http://princejesse53.blogspot.com/2016/01/us-army-documentary-film.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDNoaSMKx0g http://www.filmpreservation.org/userfiles/image/PDFs/LetThereBeLight_ProgramNote.pdf The documentary was made in 1945 by John Huston, but the government suppressed it. It was finally released to the general public in 1980.
Here's a cleaned up copy of the documentary - better sound/image quality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiD6bnqpJDE
An eye opening documentary about how psycho-hypnotic-therapy was the treatment model for U.S. WWll era soldiers returning from combat overseas. A great find by Jesse and Gib for posting it here. Here's a couple of articles I think tie in with the documentary. "Never believe a hypnotist" An investigation of L. Ron Hubbard's statements about hypnosis and its relationship to his Dianetics. by Jon Atack http://home.snafu.de/tilman/j/hypnosis.html Jon Atack on the Hypnotic History of Scientology Auditing http://tonyortega.org/2013/05/18/jon-atack-on-the-hypnotic-history-of-scientology-auditing/
I notice in the opening screen-text that the procedures or therapies have been found very useful for acute military purposes. But that for civilian neuroses etc, it is not effective because of the chronic background of the conditions. So Hubbard knew he was selling junk to the public.
