The pilot, knowing that I was fearful of seeing this great, mechanical object in the sky, maneuvered his craft in such a way that I would not see the Mother Wheel (Plane) and then backed quickly into it and docked in a tunnel. I was escorted by the pilot to a door and admitted into a room.

I was really skeptical of this whole "Alien Wheel In the Sky" story. However, when the pilot "backed into it and docked", I suddenly thought to myself: "HEY, THIS IS REALLY STARTING TO RESONATE AS SOMETHING THAT REALLY HAPPENED! I HAVE A LOT OF REALITY ON THAT BECAUSE HE IS SIMPLY TALKING ABOUT PARALLEL PARKING, WE ALL HAVE SEEN OR DONE THAT OURSELVES!"

If I had doubts before I now have no doubts anymore that the C of S has intentionally run off their membership.
With the exception of whales and only the most necessary staff, everyone else was intentionally ARC broken, labeled SP's and harassed, as they now know they have nothing left to offer that will pass muster as new OT levels to sell.
Once they saw how negatively people responded to the original OT8 they knew they had to get people to leave on their own accord or they'd have a mutiny in their midst.
That and Hubbard's own health and behavior proved there was very little to the "tech" and essence of Scientology.
Joining with NOI is guaranteed to run the rest of their public off lines.
They'll lose most of their staff too and will probably follow the lead of the Rosicrucian Society or A.M.O.R.C. and sell little pamphlets of LRH babble while they primarily tend to their real estate holdings.
Miss Cavige wants to be the last "man" kneeling, or is he standing, along with his brigade of attorneys.
"Nothing to see here folks, move along" is his new motto.
But this little rendezvous with NOI could cost him everything if NOI wins the tug of war that's just begun over the holdings.

I haven't looked very closely at the details of the union between the CofS and the NOI, but I sincerely believe that this 'partnership' will damage scientology fatally in the end. I see power struggles ensuing and I can also see a lot of the current crop of whales who are propping up and financing the cherch finally deciding that holding hands with a black terrorist organisation isn't exactly what they had in mind when the subject of expansion and bringing in new members was discussed, no matter what the poison dwarf lawn ornament says.

Anyway, that remains to be seen. In the meantime I wish Miscavige lots of luck with his partnership venture - all of it bad.
