I recall he was spanish, wasn't sure where exactly, our neighbourhood was full of spanish speakers. It just seemed to be part of living in New York.

Do you remember the bar just down the street of the Church (away from Broadway, twoards 7th ave) that had all the drag queens that used to hang out in front of it?

Don't remember any bars cuz couldn't go bar hopping. But that probably explains the transvestites that walked by CLO EUS. Also there was a bass player that walked by everyday.

I think you mean 8th Avenue. The org is between 7th and 8th. Broadway diagonally intersects 7th at 45th, creating a small triangular block with nothing on it. There was a bar on 8th between 46th and 45th that I remember serving decent food decades ago.

  5. I remember it well...it was on the same block as the NY Org , NY Org was on 46th between 7th(broadway basically) and 8th, closer to eight near the deli on the corner.........once at a very young child..while walking unattended(always) ..I saw some young men teasing a transvestite..telling her she had a Pe-is...about to beat her up..........the Tranny dropped her pants and showed everyone that she had an operation and truly did not have a pe-is....it scared her attackers away...oooo the childhood memories...fairytales and rainbows..lol
