CNN: What happens now for clients of attorneys Michael Avenatti and Mark Geragos

(CNN)The indictments against Michael Avenatti accusing him of extortion, bank fraud and wire fraud are likely to severely limit his ability to represent his clients, legal experts said.

Avenatti's license to practice law could be suspended or revoked by state bars. The American Bar Association's misconduct rules specifically mention fraud and failure to file income tax returns as offenses that "reflect adversely on fitness to practice law."

Geragos has been implicated in the extortion scheme
