Members of the Muslim community are "shocked" after a Scientology Church member offered "therapy" at a Christchurch mosque.

They say people accepting the "therapy" believed it was offered by a legitimate counsellor and did not know what Scientology was, but the church says it was offering help as an "act of human kindness, not one of religious conversion".

Members of the Interfaith Society have raised concerns about Scientology Church members trying to convert people to their faith after the March 15 terror attack.
