Good point. Look what this voting bloc has recently performed with UNESCO.

UNESCO passes resolution denying Jewish ties to Jerusalem holy sites

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on Thursday passed a contentious anti-Israel resolution denying Jewish connections to the Temple Mount and Western Wall in Jerusalem.

24 UNESCO member states voted in favor of the resolution, 26 abstained, and only six countries voted against.

The proposal, put forth by the Palestinians, along with Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and Sudan, condemns Israel on several issues related to Jerusalem and its holy sites.

The draft resolution, a copy of which was obtained by Ha'aretz, acknowledges that the city of Jerusalem is holy to Judaism, Islam, and Christianity but says the Temple Mount holy site is sacred only to Muslims and fails to mention its significance to Jews.

An entire section of the proposal dedicated specifically to the Temple Mount complex refers only to the site's Muslim names (Al-Aqsa Mosque and Haram al-Sharif) and fails to mention its Hebrew or English names (Har HaBayit or Temple Mount).

What a fascist facade. It's also why the Palestinians are cast as victims and the BDS gains traction.

It's ruse...which is what organized Islam does...it's what organized Scientoxity does...it's what destructive mind-controlling cults do.

Not so sure about the ' left ' being fascist.

However more attention and critical dialogue is essential lest we soon find it illegal and even life threatening to express our opinions supporting socially beneficial actions..

I do wonder if atheist and humanist and free speech groups are even aware of this proposed charter being endorsed by scientology OSA programs.

It read like a conman explaining and complaining about why he should be left alone as he goes about his conning.

Whaaa whaà the damned journalist are exposing how fraudulent our false gods with their ant-social anti-freedom, arbitrary unreasoned pronouncements and pretended abilities to benefit anyone.
Please other frauds come to our aid and protect our god given rights to harm anyone of our targeted marks.

as it seeks to unite government and control of the means of production - it is the very definition of fascist.

You may not remember the enormous upheaval in Canada over their fatuous law about "Hate Speech" - Article 13. Which was used by some Muslim organizations to attempt to get Mark Steyn shut up and even prosecuted. It took a lot of work to get that ridiculous piece of thought control legislation undone.

Any attempt to shut off the free speech of citizens, their rights to opine on everything, fair or foul should be scrutinized harshly by the voters.

    True enough

If Scientology doesn't want their religion to be ridiculed or denigrated by journalists, then Dr. Hubtard shouldn't have created such a pile of contradictory, abusive and absurd baloney. Ditto for other religions.

Is the technology angle in their ads failing? Are people questioning the capability of an auditor with an emeter to date past life incidents to the nearest second? That's heresy I tell you! Next, people will be saying that you won't get pneumonia and die if you learn about Xenu before you've paid up to that sacred level.:omg:

Writing for Tony Ortega, Rod Keller says the Scientology proposed "Charter on Journalistic Ethics in Relation to Respect for Religion or Belief" "if adopted would put an effective end to reporting on Scientology."

Blasphemy laws worldwide: A report from the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.

Do not think the Church of Scientology will hesitate for a second taking advantage of such laws. As UCLA Law Prof. Eugene Volokh notes in an article on his website, "much turns not just on the easily visible statutes but also on the harder-to-find prosecutions and the still harder to identify fear of prosecution."

Blasphemy laws are a direct violation of the premise of the separation of church and state.

What is this "huge difference" you speak of? Honest analysis of Islam has gotten some people killed, because Islamists consider any criticism of Muhammad or Islam to be blasphemy. The killers obviously saw no difference between analysis and 'hate speech'.

In a similar vein, Scientologists consider any criticism of Hubbard, CofS, or the tech, to be "hate speech". This being the case, the term 'hate speech' is a loaded phrase that is used more to thought stop, than anything else.

Speech is just speech. It's opinion. We either allow people to say what's on their minds without fear of government reprisal or punishment, or we go back to the days of the Roman Inquisition, where the church was all powerful and held the fates of kings and commoners alike, in its hands.

It’s quite understandable that Scientology, being a totalitarian multinational criminal enterprise masquerading as a religion would oppose public exposure and criticism of it’s manipulative and fraudulent schemes to extract massive sums of money from a dwindling cadre of mind controlled true believers, a la Nexivm and Kieth Raniere.
Fortunately, in America there are more and more people speaking out about their always manipulative, frequently abusive criminal behavior. Thanks in large measure to three seasons of Leah Remini’s Emmy Award winning series, Scientology and the Aftermath, Leah and Mike Rinder have exposed, in excruciating detail, the rot that permeates this thing; Scientology.
There are criminal and civil courts. And there are lawyers, and judges. And juries.
And David Miscavige is not above the law. Nor is OSA, or the sleazy PI cut-outs they employ.
Remember, “the mills of the Gods grind slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine.”
