is Smithson, founder of the Smithsonian.

About a month back I learned in 2013 the Smithsonian published a list of The One Hundred Most Significant Persons Of American History.

    L. Ron Hubbard made the cut.

    Comments anyone?

LOL! Yes, it appears that Hubbard appears in the Religious Figures category and even appears above Ellen G. White, Cotton Mather, Mary Baker Eddy and Billy Graham.

When you read up on how the list was determined, using links and number of Wikipedia pages (among other criteria) it really isn't surprising that Hubbard showed up somewhere.

Also on the same list is a person who probably wouldn't be there had he not studied Hubbard's work.

Nor did the Smithsonian misunderestimate the son of Reagan's veep.
