We Went to the World’s Largest Anti-Scientology Conference

Jon Atack is a willowy Briton with a closely shaved mustache and the split comportment of a school headmaster—endlessly affectionate, but prone to exasperation.

At 60, Atack has spent more than three decades on the front lines of a vicious information war against the Church of Scientology, whose controversial history he first exposed in his landmark 1990 book, A Piece of Blue Sky, which no doubt made him few friends in the church.

Last week, he stood at a podium in front of roughly 60 members of the close-knit counter-Scientology firmament and, with seething bitterness, proclaimed that "Scientology is a form of spiritual vampirism."

Before I go into the story of my adventures in attending and presenting at the Getting Clear Conference in Toronto last week, I want to post a nice video Tory Christman did about it as well as provide some photos that have been posted on Facebook. You may or may not have seen these before but I find them to be representative of the many wonderful heroes and heroines who attended.

This is an excellent photo posted by Pete : Jamie DeWolf, Leif DeWolf and Pete Griffiths!

Note that this is the first time this terrific man named Leif DeWolf, who just happened to also be L. Ron Hubbard's grandson and Jamie DeWolf's Uncle, has ever come out publicly in support of what we critics are doing. Miscavige must be going nuts!

We were fortunate to see people like Paulette Cooper and Nancy Many and Jonny Jacobsen and Nora Crest and Nan McLean and so many others all get together for the first time.

Beverley and Atack made sure the event would be recorded at a high level of quality for the ages, which cost them a pretty penny. I must say that I am impressed with the quality of the videos.. and of course the content, for which I am watching as time allows... The fee for renting them covers a 6 month time period in which to watch them.
With so many amazing speakers and combination of speakers on various topics, it's hard to decide which to choose next to watch!
