The logic is that tax-exempt churches (not all are) shouldn't make political statements because they and their parishioners benefit from gov't granted tax exemption. Then it follows that non-tax-exempt entities like corporations should be able to make political statements & donations because they do pay taxes. Wouldn't it make more sense if only individuals could make political statements & make donations limited to personal income? A corporation shouldn't have the same rights as a person. Corporate political donations have grossly distorted American politics.
