The old days before I was auditing and c/sing in Miami

I just realized I made a mistake. Kathy was a letter reg but she was not then regging. She had already Married John Sexsmith, the ED. I was just told stories by Leona that she was a letter reg stolen away from her post to marry the ED. When I was letter regging, there was a room behind us where one day I heard Sexsmith talking to someone about Kathy. Mind you I don't know these people today and I have nothing bad to say about anyone. It's just stuff I remember hearing and seeing, my own memory, and therefore only that. Not useful in general, just for understanding my experience there at that time.

This part of the story will all come back as part of a bigger picture concerning Kathy once I get to the part where I am in AOLA. She was a nice person. But my experience of her is that she was a bit nutty because driven by vengeance. So here was John in a room. I don't recall whose office it was since John's office was the ED's office, on the first floor at the end and it faced the front of the building. John had come upstairs to talk to the person on the third floor in an office that was right behind me. I was facing the other way, facing the back of the building so I had to turn around if I wanted to see anything. My "office" was essentially a corridor facing windows. The other side was composed of offices all along that corridor with doors letting out to the corridor where my "office" was. I don't remember actually seeing Kathy letter regging; I was just told that she did this.

John was back there talking frantically to someone about the fact that he thought Kathy was type 3 (his opinion and not mine since I do not know her well at all and haven't seen her in 30+ years) and that she needed to be handled, specifically, he wanted a divorce and needed help with logistics.

So during the time I was letter regging, John was trying to disconnect from wife Kathy.

My escape from letter regging hell
Here was what I did. I wrote a KR (is that the right word?) to the ED himself explaining the situation. I did not route it through Leona! Straight to the ED and I hand-delivered it to his inbox. Here is my own paraphrase of the letter I wrote:

1. I am a letter reg here, Maria, and I speak Spanish.
2. Although the org has plenty of Spanish speaking registrars, it has zero Spanish auditors.
3. Miami is filled with Spanish-only speakers who need to get onto the bridge.
4. It is an untapped market and even if we wanted to tap it right now we don't have auditors to deliver the services were we to sell them. We are talking about a market worth 100s of Gs.
5. Does it make sense for Maria to be letter regging in English when she could be trained to audit Spanish-only speakers?
6. Train Maria as an auditor so that we can take advantage of this situation and raise the stats/make things go right!

Then I signed it. Money talks. BS walks. Within 24 hours I was pulled off letter regging. I was now stationed in the training room to start my TTC training. Leona was furious. And now that the word had come down there was nothing for her to do, what could she do to reverse it, nothing, but she could blow off some bypassed charge. She marched herself down to the training area where I had already started training, came right over to Cuch, the amazing Miami Org D of T at that time as if daring him to stop her on her mission. Cuch did not even try. He was tranquility personified, a stone statue that smiles to each passerby and whose smile gives the perfectly encoded message each passerby needs. Cuch was Buddha on Scientology steroids. If Buddha was calm, Cuch was calm with the pure intention of calmness. Understanding the pure meaning of BPC and its therapeutic powers and also its very limited power, i.e., none, to change the past, Cuch stood motionless, parted the veil for her so to speak, as the fury breezed through and made her way to where I was seated. I was then, with all fairness scolded for having bypassed standard lines to get to the Ed directly with my scheme. The dastardly plot I'd hatched was that transparent to her! It was nothing short of an effort to crash stats for her area! And I was the source of the down-stat because quotas were not being met! I offered to write some letters doing lunch or after work but the goddess had given her judgment. She said "Oh sure, right" or something close to that and stormed away. I never spoke to her again really, during all my years in Scientology, and even later. Whenever she would come into the training area she ignored me. I don't remember if I C/S'd her folders later but I am sure I would have given her case the same attention I would have given any other. I felt bad in a way that I had caused her to be down-stat but the genie could not be put back. Once Div 6 and the reges and the ED and other execs realized that future Div 6 stats were in play, hundreds of thousands of dollars in fact, there was no way in hell that they were going to let me anywhere near the letter regging area again. The 'idea' had gotten away from me now and belonged to the powers of the Miami Org.

There was no purif and no survival R/D if I recall correctly. This was winter 1976 going into spring 1977. I'll be up front and say that while I did believe in the tech, my enjoyment of being in the TTC had more to do with the fact that I was not doing something mindless but at least was learning things. A big plus is that I could move around. I felt less physically stressed as a student because the space was less confining. It was a large room where one minute I might be reading at a table and looking up words. Another minute I would be making something in clay, another I was doing TRs. Each day I could sit in a different chair. I also got to talk to people, both staff and public who were in the training area. There was a phone in the Training Div and I recall even receiving phone calls from friends outside the church.

I was a bit of a hippy in my thinking in those days and I was still doing "OT" stuff. However there was no one to tell and not that anyone would have disapproved anyway. For example, sorry the following will be crude sounding but I was out on a motorcycle with a guy, before I married Jeff and before we were cemented as thing. I was already in Scientology, probably a letter reg when this happened. The guy was Indian from India and he was supposedly an Indian priest. I knew him because one of my part-time jobs I had when first at the church was as a waitress in an Indian restaurant. BTW, even though I was not Indian, the management there at the restaurant took my picture in a sari, put a dot on my forehead first of course, and used the picture in a national magazine ad that went on for years. The man from the motorcycle also worked there. Anyway, I said so you believe in all that nirvana thing? He said, yes. So give me examples of what you can do I asked. He went on telling me all the neat stuff.

I said, wanna know what I can do? I had never tried the following but heck, I was positive I could, intention right. He said yes, but from his body language i could see this was all just abstract knowledge stuff. He was not really expecting anything to happen, just that I would TELL HIM about something I could or had done.

So we got on the bicycle and then right at the second we drove off from the front steps of the Miami org right where he had picked me up I made him spontaneously come. Well sorry to be so blunt but the guy said WHAAAATTTTTT? I felt sorry for him. If it feels better, I came too I told him.

What a crazy chick I was. BTW, don't tease me about it since I am positive that "power" was based around the insouciance of youth and is no longer a threat to anyone. I never use my super powers on others, although in that case he did not seem to mind. :)

After that time period when I was still in transition and talking to people from B4 scientolology, I slowly ended those relationships and connections. Especially as my relationship with Jeff (JD) sort of became an inexorable thing. No I never did anything like that again. Ironically, these sorts of things were NOT approved of in the CoS. Being OT is not the same as talking about being OT. If you have OT stuff going on you will be called a squirrel and it's assumed you are reading non-Scientology occult books. So I slowly stopped doing any "OT" things since it was just a big no-no. It was ok to talk about having done them as long as there were no waves. (Translate: I could talk about using OT powers to be taller. But I could not walk into the org the next day being taller. And I dare not make anyone else taller either.) OT is all about goals. Not being it. If one becomes OT then it's swell to talk about being OT and to sit there glowing from wins. But no OTS actually come in to an org and do a DEMO, unless you are Ingo Swann who did live performances and wrote the Remote Viewing manual. He was a scientologist I have heard but I am sure that his "OT" powers were with him well before he was associated with Scientology and had nothing to do with Scientology. I could be wrong, but I doubt Ingo was invited into orgs to do demonstrations or trainings on his OT skills. Once you are an OT you become non-standard since you are not using the tech but just being OT. There is no OT tech on the OT levels. The OT levels are about removing the obstacles to being OT. I know this because somewhere along the way I read the levels all the way up including NOTs before they were removed from the web. Even at the very top it's all about removing impediments to OT. There is no list of OT abilities (what ancient Indians called "Siddhis") in Scientology. There is not a list of techniques for each of those "abilities" either. If the technique is like Ingo's and it's bending spoons or remote viewing, there is no official Scn tech that shows how to do either, unless you include the US Govt. manual Ingo wrote (although never admitted to writing) on RV (remove viewing.)

I don't have huge stories on the TTC. I did notice around me sometimes that people thought the meter and learning to use it was a big hard obscure thing to do. I am not an engineer but while I didn't get the inner workings of it all, the basic using of the meter was easy for me and I didn't fret if I got things slightly off now and again. (And I didn't tell anyone I had flubbed either and had no sense that this was out-ethics on my part, just a practical desire to avoid big 'to-do's about nothing.) I was not a creaky wheel that needed help from the D of T much of the time. Mostly I did zipped through courses, did the practicals, a to b no complaints. The minute I started auditing I started to have public paying Spanish pcs. As the pc moved through TRs (objectives) and onto a new level, I would be just finishing that level as a student! So if I was just finished training on level 1, I would be auditing grade I, and sometimes I'd be auditing a level AS my practical for the course. I don't know if this would be considered standard but since all the pcs were happy and f/ned then no one complained. Me either since when auditing pcs I got to basically be in charge, take a break, etc. I had more resting time and hanging out moments since I was dealing with a public. In between sessions, during session break, etc.

I'll keep going on this soon. I have to think about how to write more on this period of time and since I won't give stories about my pc cases then it limits my material a bit to things that happen outside of session.

During this time I was really really struggling to somehow maintain the outside world and all its good times as well as to be on staff. I was full time but on weekends I was often off for a day and I could go to flea markets or a movie, buy some clothes or just shop with my eyes. My mom would pick me up once a week and we'd go to a Mexican restaurant a few blocks from the church and we'd have a nice meal. My parents would NOT talk about Scientology AT ALL. There was no room to discuss its tech, its wins, its promises. NADA. When I visited with the family on Sundays for lunch and it was always a great meal with wine and lots of relatives Scientology discussions were politely ignored as if they were non-existent.

I think this is the MAIN thing that any family member can do if their relative becomes a scientologist. Be firm that you neither want to be one or hear about what is entailed in being one. At the same time, continue to love the person and make a regular appointment to have lunch, go to a movie, have a family gathering. This continuity is hard for the Scientologist family member to avoid since it's a minimal family obligation. It also provides a visual contrast to the life outside v. the life inside. I do realize that for those at SO orgs the rules may be different. I don't know what the rules are concerning spending time with WOG relatives. At Miami it is possible it was frowned on too.

And here is where it was possibly my own personality that just ignored that detail of the 'rules'. I had a tendency to often do whtever I wanted, without caring or knowing if it was considered out-ethics according to the CoS standard. So I didn't really talk about it. It only came up as a PTS situation and when it did no one in Qual or Ethics every recommended that I disconnect, even though more than once the EO would tell me that a relative was SP. I think if I had been asked to disconnect I would have but if I had I am also sure I would have left Scientology a lot sooner. I don't know if I could have taken that stress too well. A lot of times it seems to those outside who have Sci9entology family who won't speak to them that this is easy for the person inside. I doubt it is for all of them, even if they put up a great "front" of not caring. The best approach, in my own opinion, is to create a non-judgmental arrangement for visiting (if the CoS where they are working allows it). Make it so that weekly or bimonthy meetings to get together are the norm. During those meetings I'd not even mention the church or criticize what they are doing. I'd just flaunt the wonders of wogdom instead. (Not that its perfect but...) If they tried to recruit me I'd just say well thanks but I'd rather not talk about it. Lets agree that I love you and won't criticize you and that you in turn let the thought of recruiting me go.....

Anyway, not sure anyone here really realizes that I don't in the here and now practice or believe in any Scientology tech at all. I am not for or against anyone else and whatever floats their boat. What makes me happy does not have to be what makes others happy. If someone else is happy in FZ, great. I never got a chance to be fully into FZ because of those awful letters that got sent to me when the AAC people secretly working for the CoS jumped into action to out me with fake, church-supplied proof to the FZ of that time about what an SP I was! This was fantastic in a way since I had a hard break return to the wog world and absolutely no scientology friends to turn to in either the CoS or in FZ.

BTW I think all these things, my stories, are probably of limited interest to any except Scientilophiles or those who were in Miami. I hope some of you are one or both of these so thank you for listening and any corrections or comments in my understandings of tech, admin, policy or anything else of those times. (Accuracy being of interest for historical purposes.)

Some 'All staff' type of memories during my Miami days

Once a week in the mornings at 9 am we'd have an all staff meeting. The space of the meeting happened in two places. I remember them happening in the hallway over to the right side of the building. I also remember big all staff meetings in the Div 6 area. It's possible that in at least one meeting in the Div 6 area (which was 1/4 or so of the 1st floor office space) the point of the meeting was the crisis going on at the org. Stats were down! We needed to meet so that execs could give us the rundown on what was happening, that staff were not doing all they could. Now this was Miami so when this happened, and more than 1x it did happen, it was more of a pep talk than an out and out berating. The ED would stand at the front and tell the story of our goal on planet earth, how Miami had a certain part in clearing the planet, what our goals and targets were, what we needed to do, why we were not doing it. Sometimes in the speech a pay cut was announced. Never a pay increase. It was very very life and death. I loved those meetings because the unity and camaraderie were so high. Often the staff were sitting cross-leg on the floor since there were limited chairs. On the right side were the reg desks and the open area to the left, the passage between the offices with doors and the reg desks, is where we piled in for the big speeches right on the floor. It had very much the feel of a commune, a slumber party. And we were all-in, hanging on every word, taking it all to heart. I think that is one reason why even today after all these years exes still feel that family spirit with each other. We went through hell in a hand-basket, came out, and even lived to share a few memorable occasions from those days. For myself, my own memories are not really anything god-awful. I had a great time and I don't regret it even though I don't believe in any of it now. I can't decided if it ruined my life or if the opposite but since I will never know I am trying to keep a positive spin on it.

I do know it really ruined a lot of other people's lives. People died, lost their children, family members, life savings. I had a pc who I was auditing, and this is stuff not about the pc's case so I can talk about it. The pc had mortgaged their home, used up all the hours except for maybe two intensives, 25 hours, before coming to me. The pc was a messed up case. Had not done well with the other auditor. I don't recall who that was. The pc was now doing well with me but an out of session concern was all the money. There was and rarely is a free do over even if the auditor was to blame (although I read in the thread somewhere about how some people got things done over for free, remind me where and what.) It never happens for financial reasons. It's just too costly to give out free intensives goes the reasoning, plus, Joe Blow here just paid 50K, and he's waiting for an auditor. So are you telling me you will audit Mary Smith here instead, for free, because her last auditor flubbed? Naw.

But in this case I did go to the reges in Div 6 and I tried to talk to Leah, the head reg to see if there was any give. I had spoken to others in Qual already. There was no give and no one felt guilt either. So you have an older retired person whose wealth is gone, house mortgaged, all used to pay for services that are almost used up in flubbed auditing. The same pc has all sorts of case and body things going on and you know what? Too bad. Just patch them up. Yes, we know that since they are public we will finish off the 25 hours and probably won't ever see them again and yes that person's case will remain messed up and it's not our fault either so go away, Maria, stop being so idealistic about this!!!

And I would see that often, pcs that ran out of money and NEVER came back. In one case a very old man who was a pc of mine used up his entire savings of almost 100G. I am talking in his 80s. His money ran out and his auditing was over. He had done fine but since he was out of money he was out of time and the only service left was a staff recruitment cycle. LOL. He joined staff and worked in central files. He was a loyal staff member but very old and fragile too. As far as I know he also slept there in the basement with the files. And while I was there he died quietly in his sleep, in the stacks of central files stored in the Miami org basement. I mean really? But at least he died not knowing the truth of scientology.

Er, um, I don't know what to make of this question. Here are my questions and comments.

#1 - What super OT's are you referring to? The last time I checked, the consensus on ESMB is pretty unanimous that CoS and/or Hubbard never produced even one super OT.
#2 - You are one of the few whom I have encountered who claim this particular OT ability. You seem to not consider it super because later on it turns on somatics for you.
#3 - The next question has to do with what you mean by touching yourself. Are you referring to the body in total or certain specific parts of the anatomy as in "you know where".

Comments: Hubbard may never have produced a Book #1 clear or a super OT but lots of people in and out of Scientology have a few or even a lot of clear like abilities and also some OT abilities as well. My special abilities tend to be of the Book 1 Clear variety.

I'm not one to brag, but I do possess some Book #l Clear type abilities in the area of memories. For example, for virtually every song or commercial advertisement jingle which I have heard in my life, I have remembered the lyrics and melody, without a conscious effort to do so. This extends to not only English songs but to German songs as well. At age 27 I traveled to Germany and met a singer in a German bar who talked English with no German accent. I asked her what part of the USA she came from and she revealed that she was German. I asked her why she had no accent and she said that by hearing all the American songs on the juke box at her bar, and singing along with them, she was able to talk English without a German accent..

I was studying German at that time and when I got home to the USA, I bought a dozen or so record albums of German songs, called "Lieder". Hearing these nearly daily over several years, I remembered all the lyrics from between 50 and 100 German songs and arias. These songs are not pop tunes but serious German songs such as Schubert's manyLieder and Beethoven's "Ode to Joy". Unfortunately, I don't speak German very much anymore but to this day, I still know all the lyrics and melodies for over 50 German classics, such as Schubert's song, "The Trout" and various opera arias.

Also, there is recall. Before Dianetics, I remembered a few incidents back to age 2 1/2 which is earlier than the average child but with Dianetics, I ran 4 incidents at 9 months of age. I didn't know how to talk yet but still I understood everything which was being said in the room, usually between my Mom and my Grandma. I verified all 4 incidents with my Mom and got her take on them. Strangely, she never acted surprised when I told her about those incidents. To me these incidents at 9 months of age were much more satisfying than running past life incidents because with these incidents, I could verify with my Mom that they all actually occurred. With past life incidents, one never knows for sure if they are real or are just dub ins from some book one read or a movie one saw.

So much for my ablities, getting back to your question, Mer, I can't give you any answer because I have never been able to leave my body with certainty. Oh one can do drills in an effort to create this effect but I've never been able to "go exterior" with certainty. It may read on a meter that one is exterior but to actually know that for certain, I've never attained that. As far as getting tired of not being able to touch onrrself, I am not going to comment on that. You have more really with the subject than me, so I'll put the same question to you, do you get tired of not being able to touch yourself while exterior?
Lakey

Aw Lakey, I was trying to make a funny (the touching yourself OT power). Sorry if it was not appropriate. I had been reading on a thread that someone wrote about when out of body they tried and tried to wake their body up or touch it and always failed. This prompted me to thing silly thoughts. As for abilities, I really don't claim any. Everything I've said is in the past tense when i was younger and had more energy for OTness. I don't think it's bad at all for people to feel they got wins and gains from Scientology and Dianetics. I kind of see there is a value there, just don't think it's something that should be so expensive and also think the skills and abilities and wins are overrated which causes pcs to get deflated if the results aren't exactly 'so'.

As for that 'ability,' well it was 39 years ago. While I am not making it up, I am sorry for mentioning it if it was a no-no and if doing so is out-ethics by being an out-2D comment. Since we are all exes I didn't realize that out-ethics was a factor. Actually your thread reminded me that if the CoS really wanted to make things better they have all their old times create threads on a forum telling of the old days and all the wins. Then I realized that the posts might get censored and that some of what makes the posts on your thread so fun to read and so funny is the reality of the blow outs that would happen. The outpoints in certain situations you tell about in your stories are just too funny not to enjoy them. And I doubt CoS would like posts like that. Plus you'd need to leave out of the story anyone who was no longer with CoS. After all the redactions I doubt that the stories would be as much fun. The good news is that I have no more of those sorts of 'OT' experiences to report so all is well.

I don't tend to be the type that fights. I'm not a contender that way. So sometimes I tell jokes. I hope I did not offend anyone.

Lakey

:) Lakey, that is so neat about the memories of the German songs. That is so much better than floating off somewhere as a thetan.

It is sort of funny to me that getting exterior is so important in the CoS tech. I was a c/s yet I don't think it's so important really. Whether we remember or not we all do it when our bodies sleep at night (I think and am of the opinion). It's natural. I think that too much emphasis is placed on things like that. I'd much rather have your memory capacity since the leaving the body is a rare event anyway and memory is helpful all the time.

As for the joke, it also has a more serious angle....It's true that if a ghost or spirit tries to touch something their 'hand' just goes through it and nothing happens. It's confusing to be out of the body since it seems normal but nothing works. The legs arms and everything else have no substance. It got me thinking, why on earth would anyone want to be a soul separated from the body as a regular thing. Why would it be better than just being in the body, the default situation? In my own opinion, it's better to be in the body. The soul, our heart and being, is still active and at home there, and the fact it can 'wander' off is not necessarily a plus. I can see that sometimes in a dream or whatever a person might exteriorize. But if it stayed that way, soon enough the person would be longing for the old days when they could have a grilled cheese sandwich. So I decided for myself that it's not an either or of which is better and that if one has to choose being in tune with the body makes more sense, includes tons of great experiences that are not avaiable to 'exteriorized' thetans. It would be awful to be in a stuck exteriorization that would not end. I think there may have even been a Scientology word for that?

I hope I did not offend anyone.
mer,

FYI, most of the threads on ESMB are pretty loose and easy going and anything goes.

I think this thread has a few more rules, as far as I know. (I'm not a regular here.)

You might want to check with its proprietor, just to be safe.
Or . . . just start your own thread and don't worry about a thing.

You seem computer literate!

I was laid off this summer from a web software application position. I am literate enough but it's hard to be a woman in the fifties age group and expect to find a tech job. So I guess as my skills rust my pay grade will drift downward....and my chances will get even slimmer. I also worked as an academic, lecturing. But the jobs there pay slave labor. It was fun to do but I've let it go for now. I could try to join FZ and put out a shingle but haven't really felt the spirit move me. So now I'm being a bit lazy. Not writing software, not doing anything much. It's a stats crash.

Oh yeah, I could start my own thread. Duh. I guess I am parking in front of the building here and maybe it's rude. :(

Re: maria reads Dianetics and joins Scientology

Thanks for your answer, Lakey. :)

Memory is a fascinating subject. So is intelligence. No IQ test is perfect, anyway, and they have all been criticized for having a Western civilization bias. Lots of things beyond memory can affect a test-taker. More focus. Better mental health. Faster mental faculties (which is why uni students might take certain drugs before a test.) But you're right - with an IQ test, it should only vary a few points up or down.

To access the sociological and psychological studies, you need to either pay a subscription or visit your local uni or library and ask for a temporary password to access theirs. The Internet only finds the most recent ones that made the news - there are sites for all the studies, and these are easy to search, too. There are literally tens of thousands of studies on different subjects, perhaps millions, and many of them have been repeated dozens of times. It's a real eye-opener when you get into the sites for the first time and I think you'd have a ball reading some of this stuff. Some of them are very, very cool. I'm sure you'll find plenty of things you can tell me that I don't know or took for granted as true.

Took my son for mensa test.We both did well. Both 140 plus. I had a hangover and am not sure if I should add to score or subtract. :coolwink:

We took IICC 3 tests. One was not connected to language knowledge.

My son is doing REALLY well with computer stuff. He majored on computer games throughout his higher education.[dropped out?] Not good enough to be a professional gamer now. He did earn £1000 doing this a while back.

Re: The old days before I was auditing and c/sing in Miami

Love you :)

Didn't get your problems with AAC.

Will comment further.

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

Mer, keep doing what you are doing. The main thing on this thread is to enjoy yourself, share your experiences, get any tension you may have about scientology off your chest, have some fun and hopefully learn some new things in the process. We don't enforce some ridiculous ethics code here.

There is no need, at least from me, to self negate any special abilities which you once had, even if you no longer feel that you have them. A few people don't like to hear about special abilities but most people are fine with it and enjoy stories about those abilities. Flaunt those abilities if you have more stories to tell. It makes for an interesting post!

ESMB, however, does have some rules, the one big no-no is not to ridicule or make less of another person. It's okay to nullify a person's remarks, if you don't agree, but don't nullify the person themselves. Also, there is keeping security tight and not outing various people who might wish to remain anonymous. If you toe the line on those two points, you should be fine.

Of course, there was nothing out ethics with your remark about touching yourself while out of your body. It was a joke, a clever play on words and you got some fun type responses Please keep doing more of that type of thing if the opportunity arises. Also, I was sad to hear that you have no more OT powers stories to tell. I hope that you can think up some more because those stories are a lot of fun to read. Besides, though your body is 39 years older, the spirit never really ages and the spirit is capable of creating new energy if it desires to do so.

Since the TTC days were all just standard tech, I will be moving on to AOLA now. If I add to any section, I'll mark it in red and that will show it's an addition to the original.

The AAC stuff comes later and I was trying to move in sequence. If it doesn't matter I can do AAC first, now, and then go back to other parts I was going to write. It doesn't matter to me and I imagine that the AAC part is more interesting. And it's not that long.

Headline: I was a spy for a day. Decided I did not have the cojon*es. Quit the same day. In the process found out that OSA or RTC had a mole in AAC. This mole was never removed and most likely roams as we speak. Because I've never read about the person being discovered. I tried to contact AAC and tell them. I contacted a GA mission holder high up in the AAC. Peter Scupham? He would not hear me and hung up on me, having already been dead-agented per OSA tactics. Maybe I will just skip to that part first, and then go back to other less critical writings. Assuming no one objects.....

Edit.
http://www.zoominfo.com/p/Peter-Scupham/172203795

This gives some more recent info on Peter. He himself is not the mole. I would have no idea how to figure out who it was or how their presence helped cause the unraveling of AAC.

UPDATE: I heard from another ex that there was some sort of spy person that possibly even stayed at David and Julie Mayo's home. This is terrible. I won't say more/and don't know more either. I don't know to what extent it is private information.

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

The only time I ever heard of or participated in Scientology admitting a mistake and giving free service to make up damages was an occurance which happened to me in 1977-78, I was regged for $22,000 in 1977 and went to Flag for the first time to receive auditing on my L's. I ended up doing a lot of clean up and only doing L11. My auditor was Alex Sibirski. He was a very good auditor, one of the best I ever had and I felt like I got a very good result on my L11.

Around April of 1978, I received a call from senior Flag Registrar, David Light. He told me that Alex Sibirski had blown and had been declared an SP. David asked me if I had any trouble doing L11. I replied that I thought Alex was an outstanding auditor and that I thought I did very well with him on L11. Light said that the C/S is insisting that all of Alex's PC's return to Flag and redo the level with another auditor.

I responded, oh, no way, not for at least another two years. That $22K registration cycle left me and my Dad's business with almost no reserves and I needed to work for a couple of years to replace that money. David then offered to do the level over with another auditor at no charge for the auditing. I would still have to pay my for my own hotel and meals and my airplane ticket but all those things together could be had for about $1,000 and what the hell, I could use a vacation from work and if my auditing was free, why not go back to Flag.

I went back and they assigned me another auditor, a tall young woman, very attractive with black hair and blue eyes. I don't remember her name but she was a good auditor but with her, it was all business and we had no espirit de corps as individuals. With Alex Sibirski, we clicked as individuals and formed a sort of team approach to auditing with a very high espirit de corps.

My new auditor did a wokmanlike job, I redid the level and not everything floated because I did it a year earlier. I got reads but they were new reads and so I felt that I got some good out of L11, the second time around. Both auditors got a good result on me and I was not charged one dime for redoing L11. I believe we were able to do the entire level in about 1 intensive and I believe that intensives at that time ran something like $5,750 for 12 1/2 hours.

In summary, Flag did give me one full intensive of auditing for free. It may even have gone a little beyond one intensive but whatever it was, they did not charge me anything for that auditing. Of course, on the way out, I had to go see the registrar and I was very happy and there was an extra urge to help them out since they had given me free auditing. I think they were able to register me for 2 new intensives on my way out. That would have been an $11,500 registration cycle. When I left in 1978, NOTs had not yet been released. In 1979, my FSM, Richard Royce called me from Florida to tell me that NOTS came out and it was the most powerful auditing ever. I told him that I had 2 intensives on account and he urged me to get to Flag quickly. That was the last time I ever heard from Richard until about two or three years ago when he finally left CoS.
I went back in 1979 and got my two intensives in NOTS auditing. As a side note, I am supposed to drive North in April of this year and visit Richard in Oregon. We reconnected on Facebook shortly after he left CoS. I am really looking forward to seeing Richard again!

So, you heard it here for the second time, CoS actually did own up and audited me all the way through L11 for no charge after they declared my auditor suppressive!!

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

I could tell some stories (which anyone would view as either OT or mad) from the last few years. I can do those little stories here and there on this thread as time permits in the spirit of OT. "Fantastic Journeys of Old Time Scientologists". HA. I assume others may have some tales. :happydance:

I just meant that I wasn't doing the types of things I did back then 39 years ago. I hope I am not ALL washed up!

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

That is amazing. That is exactly what I remember reading on the early pages of your thread.
And it was probably the last time it will ever happen. You will keep and hold that all time record as the only free redo of Scientology services. :)

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

Did we ALL just read Heinlein, Azimov, Ray Bradbury.

I think so.

Everything was done re: the move off the Apollo by the end of ’75.

From my personal reading I rate Heinlein, Azimov, Ray Bradbury and some others of Hisself’s generation as superior…but hey, Zemu and all the other shit sold pretty damn well now, didn’t it? One of my very favorite Heinlein’s was not a big seller, “Job, A Comedy of Justice”.

Your character development observation is quite interesting and makes sense…hadn’t thought about that before…but it does make a whole lot of sense.

My two favorite El Ron Sci Fi novels were, “Final Blackout” and “Typewriter in the Sky”…I think El Ron saw Hisself, in some ways, as the Hero of both those books.:coolwink:

Re: maria reads Dianetics and joins Scientology

Took my son for mensa test.We both did well. Both 140 plus. I had a hangover and am not sure if I should add to score or subtract. :coolwink:

We took IICC 3 tests. One was not connected to language knowledge.

My son is doing REALLY well with computer stuff. He majored on computer games throughout his higher education.[dropped out?] Not good enough to be a professional gamer now. He did earn £1000 doing this a while back.

perhaps you could wrangle extra credit for the hangover since it involved some extra work.

I hope the muse does not shoot me for this bit on 'bonding in Scientology''

One of the things I like a lot about Lakey's posts about his experiences is that he has all that fun back and forth friending between himself and others on the ship. I was wondering to myself if that was a guy thing. I was sort of jealous of it. Just the repartee between you and others in the stories.

I think guys do develop those sorts of bonds. And I always noticed as a woman that women are different in the way they bond. The guys are less intimate and seem to joke or have a higher tolerance for harrassing each other fondly. The women tend to be close in a different way in which they confide in each other. The joking around like that didn't happen for me. It was more serious sort of bonding that women did which involved bigger time commitments.

I was never close to anyone in that way at the Miami org except for Rose. It was only because Jeff was the Qual sec, went to exec meetings, and Rose the ED's wife worked in Qual or as an exec who spent a lot of time in Qual. Her job seemed to stress her out a lot and we'd talk about the physical toll. And we'd compare notes on "how to legally blow for a day, i.e., arrange off time, by faking symptoms, creating emergencies, etc." She was good at it and did it all the time. I did it rarely but at least twice a year, even when I was Sr. C/S.

You know I had no concept of this being out-ethics or a withhold. It's as if it was in a compartment labeled "never happened, not been there".

But anyway, I was never really close to women at the org and I always got along better with the guys. Like Fred Figueroa who was so hilariously funny. I was never close to him but I liked his wry humor. He was in Qual too and since the Tech area was right next to Qual and I was constantly bringing pcs through, I'd see Fred often.

I hope I don't get yelled at but guys are just smoother as personalities than women for me anyway. Maybe because I spent some years as a right-brained computer programmer I appreciate it and see it. Guys tend to have their feet on the ground and while they tend to hold things in they tend to act on their gut and be a bit more prudent sometimes (rather than dwell on and talk about and think about what they should do). Guys are always under a lot of stress that women don't have and have no clue about. When I was at the org Rose was the only woman who I felt I really bonded with outside of pcs who I did not fraternize with given the professional relationship. The other woman who I liked a lot and was close to was Doreen Marshall, a class IV auditor who died not long after I left Scn of cancer. She was not petty and what you see was what you get with her.

I guess I am in serious trouble now and I've revealed I am not a feminist, just a person who tends to think idiosyncratically. Anyway let me shut up now before I get myself into major trouble.

Now let me just pull out this foot bullet....

Further insights on general immaturity

Ok now that I am in hot water paddling about trying not to boil, let me add another bit to the "bonding" in Scientology during our time of Scientology "bondage".

Although in Miami it was mostly a fun ride compared to the human bondage of others which was absolutely horrifying from the stories that have come through.

I think that when I was young (and I include myself because it's a form of social conditioning and I doubt women would be this way if not for the conditioning) women were just trained to have every attention unit glued to what men say, how to get mens attention via their appearance etc. This really destroys the intellect since sometimes it meant a mindless valence was required.

I think Leah Abady was amazing and really broke the mold (did not fit the above). She was a real go-getter Div 6 reg and I think she was the director for div 6 at some point. I also think there were probably lots of women who were not at all vapid at that time but I just did not meet them. I myself was probably vapid whenever I was not either c/sing or auditing so I'm not setting myself up on high, i.e., I do remember spending plenty of time complaining in girlish fashion.

I've given up removing foot bullets and hopefully can now move on to less ridiculous posts, ones that do not reveal me to be an complete idiot. Thank you very much, as Andy Kaufman would say.

Oh and sorry for turning the thread into a chick flick thing. Bad very bad.
