Are you referring to Terrance Shank who died last year? I've never heard of a 'Schlenke' in the cult. Shanks was OT-8 & later went FZ.

Thanks for that. It's not him. He was in from the 70s until the 80's and he was probably HIV positive and very unwell in the early 80s.

He lived with a guy in the 70s who lived next to spammy Davis' mother in Beverley hills.

I also looked. I can't find anyone by that name and spelling or any variation of it except theis man coming up with a near spelling. He is composer/embryologist named Terry Schlenker http://www.terryschlenker.com/bio.htm but I suspect it's not the guy you are looking for.

Do you have an idea of how old he was back then? Where he was from originally? Anything distinguishing about him like a skill or something? Did he have a nic name or something?

There are very few people by the name Schlenke in the USA.

That's not him either but thanks for trying.

He should be 65 now. He came from California. He came from a wealthy family. His middle name was Patrick.

My friend thinks he had AIDS in the 80s before the internet existed so I suspect he died before he had a footprint on the web.

Thanks for you help.

I am PMing you a photo to see if this is the Terrence you were looking for.

This Terrence P Schlenk once lived in Malibu, CA ( was owed money from when he lived in Malibu, according to this unclaimed fund notice here and elsewhere on internet).

Back in the early to mid 70s he was a radio music sales rep, contracting music for stations.

He later ran a bartender school, began in 1991. The school and he were sued by a JP Morgan Bank for $35,000 owed and he failed to appear and the bank got a default judgement against him. He died within the year of getting that judgement.

It appears he has a son named Michael who lives in Broward Co FL with his wife, a teacher there. http://www.broward.k12.fl.us/countryisleselem/schlenk.htm

That is definitely him. Thanks so much.

Glad to see that he survived another few decades.

He must have dropped Scientology in the 80s.

No one seems to know him as a Scientologist.

I am in LA with a friend and we got talking about going clear and he mentioned a Scientologist called Terrence Schlenke. Not sure if I have the spelling right.

Anyone know what became of him?
I realize this thread is a bit old. But it is helping me with closure. I was fortunate to have been a serious lover of Terrence Schlenck during the late 80s and early 90s. He never mentioned being Scientologist, but in old memories of us together, it sort of makes sense that he once was. He didn't have AIDS when I knew him. I know because I'm still hiv negative and we were lovers for 3 1/2 years and weren't always safe. He did acknowledge his alcoholism during our relationship. He was wonderful. And I know he died in 2007 well after our relationship ended. I do not know the cause. I appreciate this thread as it proves he imprinted on others possilbly as much as he did with me. From the moment I met him I knew he was special. And the only religion he ever mentioned to me at the time was being a non-practicing Catholic. I was fortunate to have had him in my life and as my lover.

Did you ever know a friend of his Anthony Rheingans? Anthony was never a Scientologist or a protester just a friend of his.
