CoS declared war a long time ago on a vast number of enemies.Wars can't be won without lots and lots of bullets and it appears that they are rapidly running out of ammo.
First, who are the enemies? Mainly they are:
1) Imaginary Enemies. Hubbard synthesized "virtual enemies" to solve his short-term tactical battles, to rally the troops and add spiritual nobility to the cause. Hate and fear unifies and thus he cynically exploited any human who trusted him by "briefing" them on their impending doom at the hands of Squirrels, SPs, Psychs, Reporters, World Banker Conspiracies, et al. The creation of enemies became an integral "successful action" to repeating a gross income affluence.
2) Created Enemies. These are persons who were at one time enthusiastic supporters of Scientology, Ron and the CoS. More recently, even uninvolved, neutral bystanders (e.g. Anonymous) were literally driven to take up arms against CoS for no apparent reason.
The "created enemies" category is particularly fascinating because it is the genus of "footbullets". One day a faithful parishioner is donating hundreds of thousand of dollars and the next day they are scaring the devil out of new public by parading in front of the Org's door with a Xenu warning.
The reasons why Hubbard shortsightedly pushed short term stats (tactics) leading his army into a strategic nightmare is rich material for another thread. Suffice to say, loyal CoS troops are terminally bogged down in an ever-expanding quagmire of "friendly fire" casualties and ambushes from every quarter. Desertion stats are possibly the only graph that is actually power trending.
So, what does the CoS have left to fight this losing war?
It appears....not very much.
Fair Game, once a covert weapon of terror is an old tired pitbull on its last legs that neighborhood kids openly taunt for laughs.
The barking growl is still there. But, an intimidating snarl curls back across its once-iron jaw to reveal a nearly-toothless animal.
How much fight is left in the CoS? I think we are going to see quite soon when COB fires every weapon he has at Marty Rathbun's newly forming congregation.
I think the Fair Game on David Mayo and other squirrels will seem like a warning shot compared to DM's desperation to remain the neighborhood bully.
Then we'll see how many bullets the CoS really has.
My guess, they will mostly shoot blanks and footbullets and the rest of the shots will miss. It will probably be noisy but just a lot of "sound and fury signifying nothing."
CoS has no surrenderTech. But they will need it pretty soon.
