Walt Disney was a no show to Hitler's 53rd Birthday Fest!

Lakey, this is a question from several days ago that I forgot to ask. You had posted and I don't remember which post it was, but it was a concert that you said...something like....do you see Walt Disney in the audience? Was he there?

That was Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in Beethoven's Ode to Joy from the last movement of his Choral Symphony #9, his last symphony.

This video was made in Berlin during WWII on Hitler's 53rd birthday, on April 20, 1942. No FoTi, Walt Disney was not there. He was a U.S. Citizen and we were at war with Nazi Germany so probably no American Citizens were in Germany at that time unless they were spies. I was just making a joke, of course Walt Disney was not present for this concert. Joeseph Goebbles was shown and to his left a guy who looked a lot like Heirich Himmler and then Admiral Raeder, I believe, from the German Navy. A guy who looked quite similar to Tom Cruise with a patch over his eye is also shown but I do not believe that is the true Count Klaus Schenk von Stauffenberg from the Tom Cruise movie called "Valkerie". Does anyone know if that was the real von Stauffenberg?

What I bought into and Why, Part 5

NOTE: I am also posting this Part 5 on the LRH Thumbnail Sketch thread.

“Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing.” Abraham Lincoln

“It isn’t necessary to see a good tackle. You can hear it.” Coach Knute Rockne, Notre Dame University

I told the Butcher and the Grocer that I wasn’t going to play basketball and baseball that year and would be more available for hours. They asked why and I told them about my deal with Coach. Before long, every customer was in on it and rooting me on. The Butcher said I needed to be eating lots of beef and insisted that I should have as much of any cut I wanted at carcass cost.

The owner of the sporting goods store said that I should have the best football shoes money could buy and insisted that I pick them out from his catalogue, special order them and pay only his cost…and, while I was at, I should have also have the best set of weights and a bench at cost, as well. Someone, I think it was the Grocer, started up a nickname for me and within days everyone was calling me—I kid you not—“Rock” which soon turned into “Rocky”.

My parents divorce concluded a few weeks before the end of the school year. She owned the house, furniture and all the land, livestock and equipment, free and clear. There was no alimony but she did get child support until my older sister, who was entering college, and I reached 21 years old.

When my father split he had worked out a deal for the rancher next door to run my parents stock with his and he bought most of the stock and some equipment and the rest was sold. My mother leased the “business” part of the property back to him. Overnight, my mother was awash in cash and she set about spending it. She was a piano teacher and church organist and purchased a concert grand and a full pedal board, church quality electric organ. She remodeled, enlarged the kitchen and redecorated the house and added on one fairly large room and one huge, gigantic room that, together, were nearly twice the size of the original house. One smaller room was her piano room and the other the “meeting room” for her Holy Roller friends…in effect, a small church. She also purchased a new car and a nine passenger station wagon for her “church”. Our home was now the “Meeting House” for the soon to be coming “Rapture”, or so they believed.

All this largess was quite a surprise to me. We had lived such an austere life. Honestly, I admire what my parents did in so many ways. They had squeezed every nickel and dime they could for years and added land and stock without borrowing. In my mother's eyes her “ship had come in”. This was her “payoff” for all the years she had “suffered”. As I was still being “shunned” the net effect of the Final Decree of Divorce had no financial impact on me but the impact it did have was worth more than any goodies…my chore load was cut by at least 80%. I had more time to work, train, hang out once in awhile with my buddies and mess around with my girlfriend. My sister had already “come to Jesus” years ago but the only “goodies” she got were some new cloths for college and a loan from my mother to buy a used car…she was on her own to find the money to go to college.

Near the end of the school year my girlfriend started talking about going to the Community College for a year and then, once I had my Scholarship, we could go to that college together. She had already been accepted at a very good State University several hundred miles away. Her parents were all for the plan, she would say, and really thought we were perfect for each other. I would fend her off and say we’d talk about it this summer after her Graduation. I didn’t want to be married and I knew, in my gut, that although I thought the world of her and her family, I didn’t want to marry her, had never asked her or agreed to marry her…they were not Whacko but they were very devout Christians. I broke up with her two weeks after Graduation. It was tough, real tough but I was certain it was the best thing for both of us and, bravely, she agreed.

That summer my mother, for want of a better term, was on a manic. She was gloriously directing all the work being done at the house, holding what I had come to term as her “Séances” and staying up all hours of the night playing her new piano and organ. Early in the summer my father contacted me and, with trepidation, I started spending a weekend a month with him…and my new stepmother. My reticence was well founded, which I will cover in Part 6.

All summer long I worked and worked out, worked and worked out. The God’s of Football smiled down upon me. I finally grew into the size 101/2 D shoes I had been wearing since 8th grade. I had begun my Junior year at 5’9” and 170 lbs. At the preseason weigh in, strength and agility testing for my Senior year I was a hair under 6’ and 188 lbs and could straight military press 220 lbs for 3 reps. I wasn’t much faster but I was quicker, stronger, explosive.

When the school year started my life felt like I was dreaming. I was elected Chairman of the Student Council and Student Body Vice-President. Coach was so proud of me and I was named as one of the tri-Captains. A week before our first preseason game Coach had a team meeting to fire us up for the season. He told us that this team had what it took to be the League Champions but it was up to us to go and take it. Our biggest challenge was going to be the first League game in 3 weeks…we were playing last years Champs. All of us knew what he meant. They were returning their All League, Honorable Mention Quarterback and All League, 1st Team Fullback. The Full back was big, fast, tuff and a huge 215 lbs. That Fullback had run all over us the previous year. He was what made the passing game go for that Quarterback. Their entire offense was based off of trap blocks for the Fullback, draw trap plays for the Fullback, sweeps and rollouts with the Fullback lead-blocking.

Then Coach dropped the bomb. “We’re gonna sucker punch ‘em, men. Face is gonna be Strong Safety for our first two games but over the next three weeks of practice were gonna work him in and teach him to be a Middle Line Backer and when we play those jawboney’s (his favorite expletive) he’s gonna have one job and one job only…wherever that Fullback goes, Face is gonna be there and he’s gonna hit ‘im, and hit ‘im, and hit ‘im 'till his jock strap falls off.”

I was psyched out of my mind the day of the big game. I couldn’t eat hardly a thing…just honey and milk, gobs of honey and milk. As I was lacing up my pro quality shoes I thought about all the people that had believed in me, helped me, had given me this chance. I was determined not to let them down. Just before we headed out of the locker room, Coach came up and said, “Son, there’s scouts out there from Division II, IAA and IA. They’re mainly here to see #34 (the Fullback). Now son, you go out there and show ‘em whatta pussy that jawboney is and what a real football player looks like.”

As I ran onto the field all turned surreal—I was in the zone.

For 31/2 quarters it was a war. #34 made some plays but nothing big. I was taking him out of the game and he knew it and he was getting frustrated…we were pounding each other to a pulp, it was a close game and they were losing.

We won that game. #34 missed the end of the game. He was at the hospital getting his dislocated shoulder set and a cast on his broken collarbone. Halfway through the 3rd quarter they had run their signature 41 trap draw up the middle. I read it and flew into the hole and hit him with the “reckless abandon” Coach had drilled and drilled into me.

I was at the hospital with #34…due to a hairline skull fracture and a severe concussion. My season and, possibly, my career was over.

I don't think that's a slur. I believe it means "black person"

Schwarzenegger means "Black man who pulls plow"
~Arnold Schwarzenegger

Schwartz can also refer to a dark-haired person depending on context. As with the english "Black", it's a common source for family names. General Schwarzkopf was literally "blackhead", although he did not personally share that particular family trait.

Some informatiion from Kangen Water about their product.

This is a fist preamble to responding to what Roger asked for, having to do with Kangen Water. It is not what Roger requested. To get that, I will have to do a lot of research on line. Just to give you an idea of how Kangen presents their own case, this short video is typical.

The presentation if direct and honest appearing, no competitors are mentioned and no one is bashed or criticized. They just present their case in a simple to understand format designed mainly for the layman. There is a small bit of science presented but no rigorous chemical analyses. If you take the information presented in this short video and build it into a 2 hour presentation, using more tests, a series of slides, and presentation of many anecdotes from adherents present in the crowd, you will get the idea of what they are saying and claiming. There are no boisterous claims by the company merely suggestions that aging can be slowed and the body can be aided by drinking their water.

I will try to get more tech data on the actual chemistry of the ionization process and what goes on inside the machine as far as what filters they use, what chemicals they use and how the ionization is performed. There a are a tremendous amount of very vocal critics on the internet. I am steeled to that type of thing and pay most of the critics no mind. Many of them work for other companies which sell a similar unit at a much lower price. Here is a company sponsored video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8PBufEjRzo

Here are some testimonials, not for Kangen but for ionized water in general.

I think these videos have enough merit to warrant further research into the matter.

Comment on two of Leon's points, not Ted's points, one from this post and one from an earlier post. On this post, I think the effect of the low on the high for the dynamics is similar to the relationship between low and high when relating to the interaction of people at widely differing Tone Levels.

LRH states specifically that a high toned person will raise a low toned person up a little when they interact but a low toned person will bring a higher toned person down a lot. I believe this truth is quite self evident as one goes through life.

Wouldn't it be great if just the opposite was true? A big being with a high tone level comes into an area and is able to just "glow" things right. All the SP's come to present time and lower toned people are lifted way up tone. We know this is not the case. Initially this might be the tendency but the big being acts a a magnet for SP's and is eventually cut down to size by the actions of SP's. When the Big Being is eventually knocked down, in his or her wake, things are slightly more uptone than before he arrived.

Leon, as a technical ace, do you agree with this and if so do you have a technical reason to explain this phenomena. The only explanation I can conjure up is that it is much more difficult to build something up than to tear something down. A beautiful building or a work of art often takes a lot of time and skill to be erected or produced and yet a fire started or a bomb set off by an very low toned and disgruntled person can undo the majesty of what was created over years in only a matter of seconds.

When I was informed in the early 70's that the dynamics operated on this same principle, I accepted it. It seemed likely that improper care of oneself on his or her first dynamic plus marital troubles or troubles with one's kids on the second dynamic would act to sabotage gains on higher dynamics. The converse can also be true. If worldwide nuclear disarmament was declared, it would raise conditions on other dynamics to be sure but it probably wouldn't fix a marital dispute or cure a disease which someone had. It would definitely act in that direction but usually would not be enough to handle lower dynamics.

Yes, I agree about going along with Purple Haze. When she voiced that different dynamics could be assigned differing conditons, I blew down and had a big smile. My original interpretation of the Conditions by Dynamics was vindicated and I instantly returned to my former beliefs from 38 years ago.

Let me say at the outset that I myself have never done either Exchange nor Conditions by Dynamics nor have I seen it done on another. So I accept that there may well be great benefits to these, however, I myself have not seen them.

The views I had in the CofS on Ethics Conditions were all thrown in the bin after I left when I had the lucky chance to do Mary Freeman's 1st Dynamic ethics program. The whole meaning of everything was turned on its head and, judging by the results I personally had from the program, I knew that this was the correct approach to the matter. This has been confirmed over and over since then by the results attained on the dozens and dozens of people whom I have guided through the program.

The Dynamics were always drawn schematically as a series of concentric circles with First Dyn at the centre; the other dynamics radieting around that one. Well, if the centre is in a low condition all the others are non-optimum as well. Not that they are of lesser value than the first but because the basic theta being who is the person is missing, or at best present on a substitute basis only.

So this has to be handled first, and when it is handled the guy can safely be left to his own devices in cleaning up the others. If he needs a bit of guidance then OK, but if he really is there as a being he likely won't need it. Remember that every policy letter, every law in every country, every command that has to be obeyed, is always a substitute for the thetan being present. very often it is a direct attempt to unmock the thetan, as in the case of "When in doubt, do what Ron says". [When was that ever part of the Doubt Formula?]

Also recognise that what is described as what the dynamics consist of in most Scientology literature by LRH is not a description of the true dynamic itself, but is rather a description of how a lower (much much lower) harmonic of the dynamic manifests on this planet. The booklet on Dynamics and the Tone Scale (based on an early LRH lecture) gave a chart which laid this out.

The true first dynamic only appears when the being reaches 4.0 on the Tone Scale, the second at 6.0, the 3rd at 15.0. Below 4,0 one is dealing not with a true first dyn but with a mestified lower harmonic of it - the body, and its health and fitness and so on.

So there is much to this area. I am not here going to go into a full exposition of it - that would take a book. But you have some basic ideas that I take as a starting point in this subject.

Always remember that LRH was never a Scientologist.

I agree fully with this sentiment. We've had enough if it.

Your discussion of the dynamics sounds very valid to me. I agree with everything you say. I would be interested in doing Mary Freeman's ethics class if it became available to me. As I always say, her Mom, Adele Vonnie, was a very close friend of mine and was my junior in CCLA treasury.

Just a thing about the Harmonic of the dynamics. It seems to me that LRH had no choice but to initially focus on the lower harmonic of the dynamics as lived by nearly all human beings who came through Scientology's doors. What is lacking and does not exist as far as I know was an appropriately higher toned version of the dynamics to be taught to OT's and/or people above 4.0 on the tone scale.

This was a big omission. It seems as if Mary Freeman has plugged this gap in the tech but unfortunately a lot of would be OT's left the Orgs not really making the grade due to the lack of this data being available to them.

Once people attested to states of OT, they were still operating off of the lowest harmonics of each condition as exemplified by everyday dealings in life on Earth. This is perhaps one reason why so many who attested to various OT levels show very few signs of being an OT. Had they been given a course or hatting such as Mary provides, many with OT certificates would be actually exhibiting real OT abilities. As it is now, most so called OT's have no OT like powers whatsoever.

7 Things that Freak Women Out

Seeing an anger management graduation certificate on your wall. Don't punch us for saying this, and it's great to be proud of your accomplishments and all, but maybe you should take down reminders of your violent past if a woman is coming over. Unless it's Naomi Campbell who's coming over.

A picture of your mom on your nightstand. Don't you have a mantel?

A picture of your pet in your wallet. Be a man.

A tattoo of your ex's name. If you were really over her, you would have covered it up. Tommy Lee and Johnny Depp got rid of their body art dedicated to ex-lovers.

Expensive shampoo/conditioner. You don't have to use Suave, but she may question your sexuality if your grooming products are more expensive than hers.

Your magazine subscriptions. She'll scrutinize your bathroom reading materials. If they're all work-related, she'll think you don't know how to play. If they're all ladies magazines, she'll think you like to be a player. If they're all porn magazines, she'll think you play with yourself too much.

Potpourri. This implies your mother does your interior decorating. Go on Trading Spaces.

health care advice FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Health Care By David Lubar

Q. What does HMO stand for?
A. This is actually a variation of the phrase, "Hey, Moe!" Its roots go back to a concept pioneered by Doctor Moe Howard, who discovered that a patient could be made to forget about the pain in his foot if he was poked hard enough in the eyes. Modern practice replaces the physical finger poke with hi-tech equivalents such as voice mail and referral slips, but the result remains the same.

Q. Do all diagnostic procedures require pre-certification?
A. No. Only those you need.

Q. I just joined a new HMO. How difficult will it be to choose the doctor I want?
A. Just slightly more difficult than choosing your parents. Your insurer will provide you with a book listing all the doctors who were participating in the plan at the time the information was gathered. These doctors basically fall into two categories -- those who are no longer accepting new patients, and those who will see you but are no longer part of the plan. But don't worry -- the remaining doctor who is still in the plan and accepting new patients has an office just a half day's drive away!

Q. What are pre-existing conditions?
A. This is a phrase used by the grammatically challenged when they want to talk about existing conditions. Unfortunately, we appear to be pre-stuck with it.

Q. Well, can I get coverage for my pre-existing conditions?
A. Certainly, as long as they don't require any treatment.

Q. What happens if I want to try alternative forms of medicine?
A. You'll need to find alternative forms of payment.

Q. My pharmacy plan only covers generic drugs, but I need the name brand. I tried the generic medication, but it gave me a stomach ache. What should I do?
A. Poke yourself in the eye.

Q. I have an 80/20 plan with a $200 deductible and a $2,000 yearly cap. My insurer reimbursed the doctor for my out-patient surgery, but I'd already paid my bill. What should I do?
A. You have two choices. Your doctor can sign the reimbursement check over to you, or you can ask him to invest the money for you in one of those great offers that only doctors and dentists hear about, like windmill farms or frog hatcheries.

Q. What should I do if I get sick while traveling?
A. Try sitting in a different part of the bus.

Q. No, I mean what if I'm away from home and I get sick?
A. You really shouldn't do that. You'll have a hard time seeing your primary care physician. It's best to wait until you return, and then get sick.

Q. I think I need to see a specialist, but my doctor insists he can handle my problem. Can a general practitioner really perform a heart transplant right in his office?
A. Hard to say, but considering that all you're risking is the $10 co-payment, there's no harm giving him a shot at it.

Q. What accounts for the largest portion of health care costs?
A. Doctors trying to recoup their investment losses.

Q. Will health care be any different in the next century?
A. No, but if you call right now, you might get an appointment by then.

...snip...:coolwink:

:):questions:As I went flying up that freeway entrance ramp, I remembered catching a momentary view of the station mechanic in my rear view mirror. He was standing there staring at the rapidly accelerating Betsy. His mouth was wide open and his face was frozen into an expression of utter disbelief.

Oh Boy! I guess one of these days I gonna have to tell about the '55 Plymouth "Business Coupe" with the huge "hemi" engine that my wonderful Dad bought for me in '61! :eyeroll::happydance:

But...prolly not about the girl who became my first wife and I enjoyin' "dessert first" before the advent of "The Pill". :nervous::whistling:

Love ya Johnny - you are truly a hero of mine! :happydance:
