Sure they can, and there's nothing wrong with it. I'm just saying that it is not the Second Dynamic.

It's not. I hear you, Leon.

It's just nice sometimes not to have every part of your life
being defined by some genius dude.

But if one chooses that, it's their rightful choice.

Some AWESOME posts from you lately, Hats. Count me among the most ardent of your admirers. I think the work you are doing is superb. I love it. Please keep at it. And when you get "to the other side of the bridge" then wait for me. I want to meet you one day.

Thanks Leon,

I'm not doing real 'work'___ I'm just scanning things to a release point because I have new stuff coming in and existing around me now that I have shifted environments. I was living as a hermit before. A one man island. I really wasn't prepared to shack up with others who have different agendas they need to implement. Welcome to the real world Hats.

I like the WW II facts and the ships' stories. As a youngster I kept all the stories in my head that I saw on reel.

Actually the British 3.7 inch AA gun was a better one, but the Brits, being somewhat slow to catch onto things (as always) kept it at dviisional level and used it as an AA gun only. It could have been used as field artillery or for direct fire. One should think they'd learn from what they saw the Germans doing, but no, not the British. >

Here is a cute clip from a Bowery Boys (Also Eastside Kids and Dead End Kids) movie made in 1943. Eveything about that period seems to have style about it: the music, the dances, the clothes the hairdos, the autos of the day and even the military equipment and airplanes. Little Lakey was 3 when this clip was made. I really love this swing era song (The real dancing doesn't start until 1:30 into the clip.)

I may have sat next to you. I've been to those pictures. Mr and (the future) Mrs Allnut going down the river.

We used to have a place downtown that was like a speak easy. It was upstairs....up 40 stairs to a 1940s decorated hall. The bar, the tiles, the mirrors on the wall, the furniture. I couldn't believe I discovered this place. :happydance: They had the best jitterbug and jive contests. The kids practiced and competed down on Epcot's Boardwalk. There was a night spot on the end of the Boardwalk pier called simply DANCE HALL These fellows showed up 3 nights a week and wore spats and suspenders and slicked back hair. I have never seen people move their feet so fast and defy gravity as their partners were swung around. NEVER. It was an accident that I stumbled on to this place downtown. I cherish the find even though it is now gone. The boardwalk dance club was all Art Deco.

We were both wearing floatation vests. We never go out on the water without our life vests.

California water is sooooo cold. I was in Huntington Beach one August and it was FREEZING. I always see the pics of Cameron Diaz or Leo Dicaprio or Mathew McConaughey running thru the surf. The water in Malibu must be 20 degrees warmer. :)

I must've missed something. What does "Q" stand for?

And its on the water like the one further up the Atlantic seaboard

I been there onest.

Disneyland, he original has swing dancing every Saturday night during the summer. i love to watch. I tap my feet, but both of them are left feet. I had a girl friend once, who had taught at Arthur Murray's. I just couldn't learn to dance to the beat.

SoCal water is warmer than NorCal water, but both are warmer in the winter than the summer because of the currents. Huntington is no different than Malibu.

If you want warm water, go to Mexico or Hawaii.

I flunked my disco lessons. I barely passed my West Coast Swing lessons. I could not do the Jitterbug either. And I bombed out on the swimming lessons BUT, I'm the best goddamn floater in the whole wide world. My problem is I have nostrils that do not close up. No matter what I do water goes up inside my head. I have to wear nose clips and ear plugs and goggles and a swim cap and my swim shoes and my shorts and my 8 ft by 4 ft beach towel. :D My avatar was a hoot.:p

You're an unusually beautiful person.

I've met a lot of dames, but you are really something special.

Thankyou Carmelo

I've never been called a dame before. I seem to remember some song and dance movie with that jingle. Uh was it On The Town?

California water is sooooo cold.

That's because the offshore current is coming down from the gulf of alaska & the bering strait. As CO said, during the winter the southerly ocean current moves further offshore allowing warmer water from the south (still pretty cool) to move up along the coast.

I must've missed something. What does "Q" stand for?

Mostly handouts of food. :coolwink:
