Many of us have become aware of 666 as supposedly the number of Satan/Devil. I have recently come across an article which notes that the carbon atom have six protons, six electrons and six neutrons, and suggests that there could be something evil in the proposed carbon tax.

This had me thinking that there may well be a 666 associated with some key aspect of the CofS. Do you have any suggestions?

Who ever authored that was in seriously need of psychological therapy, If that is indeed the actual word of 'God' ... of all of the possibilities which could have transpired to produce life ... how did we ended up with a creator that has the intellectual and emotional capacity of a child? ... a very spoiled child?

When I ran the Women's Auxiliary for the Twin Cities org we did a Christmas gift drive for the group Catholic Charities. When I delivered the gifts to them the lady went to check off our name on a list as we pre-registered. Each group had a number. Our number was 666. It said "666 Church of Scientology". It made the woman checking off uncomfortable and she even said "that's odd".

Whether they did that on purpose or not, I don't know.

Yeah that's why I don't understand why hanging out in Heaven with God is so appealing to some to people. Who wants to dealing with being treated like a child by someone who demands that you worship him? I wouldn't even consider treating a stray animal that came to my door looking for food like that, let alone someone I supposedly 'love so much'.

The notion that Satan and Lucifer are the same is not really held in Judaism, as far as I know.

Anyway, I blame that inversion on the injection of Greek philosophy into Christianity.

Ya know, one of the reasons I was happy to leave Scientology behind was because of too much unnecessary added significance.

When it comes to "finding meaning in numbers", this gets pushed to even further limits. There is no inherent "meaning in numbers" other than that which YOU give to them.

Granted, one can study how OTHERS have imbued numbers with all sorts of significance and meaning. But, try not to fall for it yourself.

I was in Toronto, and in the Sea Org, when the building was acquired. It was bought because it was the best deal that served their needs at the time.

Spooky? I suppose that you can imagine (dub-in) THAT if you choose to.

So, did the Sea Org purchase the building BECAUSE it had the number "696"?
