Well I didn't wait up all night for this, but I agree it's not a surprising story because we already had the gist of it--sort of old news.

It might be "old news" to us but this is the first interview that the Smith's former school principal turned whistleblower has given, and she gave it to Tony O, confirming what we suspected.

Outside of our community of EX'es and critics there's not a whole lot of people who know who Mike Rinder and Mike Bennitt are.

I'll bet you though that billions of people know who Will & Jada Smith are.

From a journalists point of view this story is orders of magnitude larger than yesterday's story, although admittedly, not nearly as entertaining.

You're right re the journalist's aspect. But yesterday's story was entertaining indeed to us Ex's! The best item was the picture (yeah, I know photoshopped) of Rinder in the helicopter giving the Finger! I hope Der Dwarfenfuhrer gets to see that one. I LMAO!

I'm glad I did not stay up until four am to read Tony O's big scoop but it is still very good reporting and an important story.

My bad. I've been :rickroll:

I hyped a hype that turned out to be less hype than I'd [STRIKE]hyped[/STRIKE] hoped.

I think the situation is that we ESMBers are essentially junkies for cult breaking news. We've been through so much that it now takes a bigger and bigger story to "get us off". Maybe five years ago this would've excited us. Turned us on....so to speak.

Same phenomenon happens with porn addicts. :omg:

I didn't stay up--wasn't online when the first post was posted. While reading through, and I saw the headline, I was a bit disappointed until I thought more about it-- and what the story would be like to someone who was never in and not following closely once it broke.

Most of us who have been in have been hearing about Super Power from the beginning of time. A lot of us also went through the release of GAT I, and so the GAT II makes no sense to us. From our exey "time track", this weekend holds a hell of a lot of significance (as in the English definition). If I'd never been in and just checked out Scio here and there; I'd probably just look at the weekend as more 'Scientology weirdness'. I'd probably even think the Rinder in the copter was weird in that an ex would go to that extent.

The Smith school? THAT would get my attention. People lying about even being in the cult (see a comment to the piece where a traveling auditor for the Smiths was being recruited from DC to make it harsher). The cult claiming secular use of LRH stuff when it is all about Scientology. THINK OF THE POSSIBLE RAMIFICATIONS HERE I'm Joe Blow out in Peoria, and I find out that the idea that Scientologists completely lie about who they are and do hide under the secular blanket is confirmed. Now, next time I hear that their anti-drug campaign is coming to a local school, or a Way to Happiness drive is going on, or a friend hooks up with a business consultant that manages by statistics, what do you think I'm going to do?

Super Power and such is just those fellows in their own little world--doesn't affect me. Celeb leaves the cult? Well, just another crazy little Hollywood person finally seeing the light (not how I feel, but I do hear that out in the world). This sort of deception by Scio? Fuck, you just brought it into my backyard and shown me that the cult can strike anywhere.

So is the story getting traction in the mainstream media, does anyone know?

Radar Online has picked it up.

Inside Will & Jada Pinkett Smith’s Mysterious School: Fired Principal Reveals How ’100 Percent’ Scientology Curriculum Failed Kids

The couple insisted that despite rumors, they were not Scientologists, and that the school would be secular. But now, the woman who was hired as the first principal of that school, which closed earlier this year, is stepping forward to claim that that was all a lie. Jacqueline Olivier tells Scientology expert Tony Ortega that the school was actually “100 percent” Scientology-focused, on the Smiths’ orders, and that the controversial curriculum failed the kids it was supposed to help.

Excellent!! Thank you, Type4!

The NY Daily News whose website is ranked very high (as far as traffic) has been picking up lots of Scientology stories recently, and I am hoping that they'll pick up this one as well.

The Los Angeles Times would be nice as well as it's closer to the scene of the crime.
