Plain Old Thetan was a freezoner who ran his own picture framing business. He posted here. He was quite polite, but strongly resistant to criticism.

His threads got quite a reaction as they were deemed by many to be promoting Scientology.

He believed that body thetans existed but we should not get rid of them but use them as our friends.

I disagreed with him strongly more than once, but there was a real sweetness there and I liked him.

Sorry, you are right. OldAuditor is David Saint Lawrence and he is the one who posted here. Plain Old Thetan was one of those involved in OldAuditor's websites. Not sure of real name.

On Thursday, Plain Old Thetan — whose real name was John Joseph — died after suffering complications from appendicitis. He was 59.

Plain Old Thetan has been helping people who are still in the church as well as those who are free. It could do a disservice to those who are still inside and are working to keep things together if their connection to POT was known at this time.

POT stayed under the radar for the benefit of those he helped, not because he had family or business associates with church connections.

We discussed this earlier this year as I wanted him to get credit under his own name for the good that he has done. He convinced me that those still inside the church would suffer if his identity was known.

I respect his wishes and will not release his name until there is no chance that it will harm others.

As things are going, that will not take much longer.

Thanks for your acknowledgements. POT would be very happy to know of the effect he has created through his efforts.
