“Our Goal Is To Make Marty’s Life A Living Hell”

It's very hard to "pick sides" where Scientologists vs. Scientologists are involved. Here's why...

Scientologists routinely do very dumb & despicable things. To wogs. To each other. And, to themselves.

Marty did plenty before because he is a lifelong Scientologist. And he is now exposing the CoS Scientologists for doing very dumb and despicable things. That's plenty cool!

But, I do not trust Scientologists from the loftiest heights of L. Ron Hubbard courageously (and single-handedly) breaking thru cosmic Wall of Fire, all the way down to the little Sea Org Scientologist who is salvaging the inside of a garbage dumpster with a toothbrush. They simply cannot be trusted. And "no" that is not a generality, because of this....

The day before any one of those Scientologist SquirrelBusters uttered the now infamous words "Our Goal Is To Make Marty's LIfe A Living Hell" they very easily could have completed the "Personal Ethics & Integrity" course after having exhaustively done clay demos, checkouts and drilling-to-a-pass on The Creed of Scientology.

WE OF THE CHURCH BELIEVE
That all men of whatever race, color or creed were created with equal rights.

That all men have inalienable rights to their own religious practices and their performance.

That all men have inalienable rights to their own lives.

That all men have inalienable rights to their sanity.

That all men have inalienable rights to their own defense.

That all men have inalienable rights to conceive, choose, assist or support their own organizations, churches and governments.

That all men have inalienable rights to think freely, to talk freely, to write freely their own opinions and to counter or utter or write upon the opinions of others.

That all men have inalienable rights to the creation of their own kind.

That the souls of men have the rights of men.

That the study of the Mind and the healing of mentally caused ills should not be alienated from religion or condoned in nonreligious fields.

And that no agency less than God has the power to suspend or set aside these rights, overtly or covertly.

And the reason I do not trust any Scientologist is that on a Friday they might well get up in front of graduation and proudly announce their theta wins on the Creed. And the following day, Saturday, they might be stalking another Scientologist (Rathbun) with headcams, trying to figure out how to step in front of him so that when he bumps into them, a police report can be filed for assault.

AND THEY WOULD HAVE "F/N VVGIS" during both of those events and see nothing even slightly contradictory or hypocritical about either.

So, bottom line. When a Scientologist does dumb and despicable things to Marty or his wife, I want him to open up a can of Fair Game whoop-ass on them.

But, at any moment, Marty just may turn around and do the same to someone else. In fact, he consistently has.

But as long as they are attacking each other, it's all good fun to watch so I am a big fan of Marty and hope he maneuvers Miscavige into a fatal footbullet before Miscavige can figure out a way to trigger Mary's short temper and get him to self-destruct.

But when all the smoke clears, there will still be the cult of Scientology and it will still have lying cult leaders and tech that doesn't work.

And that is what they are fighting over. I told you Scientologists do dumb and despicable things, didn't I?

Query. Evidence that Marty is currently doing "dumb and despicable things" to other persons?

Evidence that Marty is currently doing so "consistently?"

Adopting a "shades of grey" approach to dealing with a totalitarian movement amounts to appeasement. The day the M²&M² Show publicly abandons KSW will be my first glimpse of a grey that cannot otherwise be interpreted as anything but an acceptable truth.

Mike was not talking about a totalitarian movement he was referring to Marty, as an individual. My original question was about Marty, as an individual.

Thankfully, I have never met a human who was 100% all good or all evil.

I'm not sure why the words shades of gray cause so much angst. Is this a Scientology thing? I can't see the comparison between the complexity of a human psyche to pregnant/not pregnant; or on/off. WTF kind of infantile thinking is this?

Marty has done much that is abhorrent. He has a whole heap to do to swirl some white in with that pitch black legacy of his past. I find his cult lite unbelievably creepy and his blog entries are, at times, a hair breadth away from insanity imo.

BUT he apologised to Mike.
Mike, the injured party, was satisfied with the apology.

I have no other information, this is not a court of law. I choose to accept this:
Marty is capable of apologising for actions that may have been condoned or encouraged by Hubbard.

I'm quite sure Marty is nice to his wife and loves his dog too. So? Acknowledging that, does not give Marty feathery wings and a halo.

What is more effective as a warning saying a that flash sports car is a piece of junk completely, or saying the car has good seats, amazing acceleration but has no braking system?

I had a thought about Alanzo's post on Marty's blog.

Here is what I think he's trying to do......

People have been trying to get Marty to apologise to Gerry Armstrong for a while now. But for whatever reason, Marty won't do it. I think I read somewhere recently that Rathbun still considers Armstrong a "punk".

So what Alanzo has done, is the heap praise on Marty for doing the same "selfless" actions that Gerry Armstrong has done. (Forget the argument for a moment about whether either of them actually acted selflessly). So if Marty takes on board the praise from Alanzo, he has to consider Gerry as someone also worthy of praise.

He's playing games.

Well, do we really have to start this? It's pretty off-thread, but hey, a couple of free introductory samples never hurt anyone...

EXAMPLES OF DUMB & DESPICABLE:

REALLY DUMB!

Pretending to be an Operating Thetan.

while actually being just an ordinary drunk human in jail.

Now, as far as DESPICABLE...

It would probably be a very good idea to lurk around some more and read up on what Marty Rathbun has said and done in his short but illustrious career as Indie Scn Leader. Don't you find it despicable, for example, that he would attack a whistle-blower like like Jerry Armstrong who bravely exposed and documented the criminal fraud and lying of L. Ron Hubbard?

There are many great things that Rathbun does, but these are often negated by the simple fact that he is a co-conspirator in the grande "Bridge to Total Freedom" fraud perpetrated by Hubbard and later Miscavich. Take away the silly pretense of "religion" and Rathbun is simply a new-age cult leader promising mindblowing miracles for money. He doesn't charge that much, but neither did Hubbard when he was likewise setting up his cult as a new cottage industry.

I will hold the other "top 100" despicable things that come out of the "Indie Scn" movement (not Rathbun alone) but that is for another time and another thread.

Here, the issue is Fair Gaming by CoS vs Marty. In that respect, he is a stone cold freedom fighter and I give him the utmost respect for standing up to the monstrosity of organized Scientology. Righteous!

Dumb? Have you read his '31 Factors' prominently featured atop his Blog?

It begins by praising L. Ron Hubbard for developing Scientology, including its system of Ethics and its Organizational policy, then goes on, point after point, entirely about David Miscavige and how he's taken this wonderful subject and organization and perverted it from something wonderful to something terrible.

One of his factors goes on about Hubbard instructing, "Do not tell lies in PR," which Rathbun knows is, itself, a lie (called by Hubbard "PR of PR"). And yet he says it. That's beyond dumb, that's dishonest.

'Factor #11' is still my favorite:

"Miscavige has run a continuous propaganda campaign attempting to besmirch the good name of L. Ron Hubbard. He has consistently given little interest and funds for defending public relations attacks on Hubbard."

I think his actions are tipping the scales. He can go around and apologize (and should, I suppose) but at the end of the day, he is making up damage done.

I agree. He has made a broad and general apology on this forum, and invited anyone with issues to communicate personally.

When I met him in London, around 2 years ago he voiced the cognition that he would be attracting the ire of DM and that this
would make it safer for others.

For me, its not angst, it is suspicion - suspicion derived from Marty's difficult relationship with the truth about Scientology itself and its critics. As long as Marty - or anyone - remains locked into the Scientology paradigm so thoroughly as to knowingly perpetuate lies on its behalf and seek to weaken opposition to it, entering into any form of agreement in regard to their actions is to fall prey to possible manipulation. The "shades of grey" approach reeks of ARC dissemination tech used by the cult's ambassadors to generate low-level agreement from which to leverage further, reality-warping agreement. It starts out on street corners where the unwitting agree with the need for promoting, say, human rights and ends up with the, by then, impoverished soul dedicatedly duplicating the Xenu story to rid themselves of the spiritual bodies of dead aliens. Or worse.

Scientologists, generally, love the "shades of grey" approach. It lends credibility to the mind-numbing infinty valued logic where up can mean down (depending on viewpoint) and murder is good (depending on the number of dynamics assisted at the time). Being suspicious when seeing it used to defend a Scientologist is no where near as infantile as taking Marty's actions at face value.

But, hey, who knows? Perhaps Marty's resolute and defiant promotion of Scientology and L Ron Hubbard is all a ruse. Perhaps his statements are at a sufficiently low reality-level as to be able to reach into the cult and speak to its members in such a way that they can understand. Maybe they need to think its all David Miscavige before they can go on to realise its actually L Ron Hubbard. Time will tell. I hope.

Hey, I'm not arguing. I agree with you all and said as much in my first post regarding Marty. I just no longer feels productive for me to continue to reiterate the same points. I think Al's strategy was a good one.

I'm not in a war with Marty. I only want to see the C of S collapse for good and as soon as possible. I think he is aiding that, that's all I ever meant to say.

Outstanding post! Nominated for one of the top posts of 2011. It is deceptively potent and bears re-reading often!

"That's not the conduct of a Scientologist. I just want you to know that." Marty Rathbun

Endlessly fascinating (and revelatory) is the deafening silence in a Scientologist's "universe" when facing this outrageous clash of realities. It is one of those things that all the TR-O and auditing in the world cannot solve--the simple fact that a Scientologist cannot "confront" their own church's criminal contradictions.

It's one of the reasons that I do not trust Scientologists.

Yup, it's a generality, but I am quite happy to risk my eternity and repeat that often.

Would any sane, informed or reasonable person really entrust themselves to the psychological care of such people (Scientologists) who have such chronic, cult-ivated, cringeworthy Cognition-Dissonance?

Yes, indeed!

While Scientology is void of the miraculous OT state it claims, it nonetheless does have one (1) miracle that nobody has been able to explain.

How Scientologists still believe in supernatural OT powers, when all the supposed OTs keep blowing, getting declared, going to prison or dying.
