An old post from the 'stably exterior with full perception' thread mentions Julia:

Over the years the unthinkable thought pushed forward more and more....it was "that I observe that LRH was demonic at that time." I did not want to know that, did not want to believe that.......that was too incredible to be believed - even for me - I did the usual make nothing of myself...."you're seeing things" "what do you know" "you got overts" - much easier to blame self than confront what is.

I wonder what Alan got for his concerns and efforts from 'mans best friend'

By the way...

Julia Salmen was an original Class VIII and is the person that developed the OCA and the testing indoc line and "gave" it to El Ron.

RIP Julia.

Hi Face:

As I recall, Julia did the APA which preceded the OCA, which Raymond Kemp did with help [I have the original Scientometric Testing Manuel]. As I heard it, Ray was not at all happy with CoS taking over his OCA. At the time this occurred, sometime after 1973, I observed that they had altered the wording of the 200 questions and then copyrighted it. I wish I had the original questions which are not in the manual, and which I threw away, to compare how CoS spun the questions. Anyone have that? :coolwink:

Hi Purple,

You're right...it was Julia’s test was the APA which preceded Ray’s OCA. Thanks for helping me shake out some cobwebs. Julia was an early Dianeticist and, if I recall correctly, a licensed and practicing Psychologist before Dn and Scn. Her work on the testing materials was based, in part, on the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) which was used by Clinical Psychologists for decades and is similar in format to the OCA and APA although the diagnostic meanings and ramifications are different. Ray’s work, I believe substantially, was based on Julia’s work.

So she was a Psych!!! An enemy of mankind!

All kidding aside, I'm wondering how valid the OCA was as a tool for determining anything like case gain.
