This is absolutely a desperate action. More so than I've ever seen. It is a well known fact that the best "reges" for getting people to Flag are the OTVlls and Vllls. More so than any staff reg..the OTs are depended upon to get their friends onto OTVll. In fact, I was briefed (one of the hundreds of times) by Clive Rabey D/CO AO Flag, that Flag could not make it without the OTs FSMing for them, that "we" are depended upon. As more and more OTs drop off, the effort to fill their "places" gets to insane levels..and which, of course, will result in the opposite happening.. cause LA OTs are sick and tired of being forced, regged, demanded upon etc etc.

I agree, it's very desperate. The difference I see in this fund raising attempt is the fact that there is no impending doom with a deadline. For example - "hey, we are being attacked, and we need to raise $10Million by next Thursday to stop <something terrible> from happening to our church, because if we all don't stand shoulder to shoulder and do something about it, the church <might not make it>."

I thought that's what a "Call To Action" was. They are wasting a perfectly good "Call To Action" on raising your IAS status to expand the AO's around the planet. Where's the urgency? Where's the deadline? Where's the terrible consequences if you don't take action? Like what OT hasn't already had that request land in their inbox? I think this is just a cover for why they REALLY need the money. They can't promote the fact that they are being sued and on trial in so many countries for everything from human trafficking to fraud and their Chairman might be hauled off to jail any day for assault and battery of his staff.

So they divert every one's attention onto the healthcare legislation and say that's why they need the money!!
