I had to go one step farther than that.

Years ago, I got TWO phone lines, one connected to a phone and one connected to an answering machine (but no phone). The C of S only got the second number. That way, I couldn't "pick up" when they shouted at me to do so.

It's a shame, but I was so indoctrinated that I had to resort to this extreme measure to NOT talk to them.

Great minds think alike, Helena ! LOL I did the same thing. Had a separate line for years, only I had a phone with answering machine on it with the volume turned off so I didn't know if they called or not, unless I saw the blinking light, and then when I checked the messages, as soon as I heard.....Hi this is Joe from the Chur.....I would hit delete. This way I never even had to hear the phone ring. It was worth every penny I spent on that phone line to have peace from those assinine phone calls ! I used to think I was weird to do this, but it's nice to know I was not alone.

Does anyone else remember the reference, any of you pre GAT techies should know it, a SHSBC tape I think, about what to do if someone of ill intent or someone totally off the rails takes over the CoS? He doesn't even say IF, he says it WILL happen. Something about will someone please blow up headquarters. I applaud her. She has taken the only action that could possibly salvage the CoS at this time...or bring it down if the corruption is so far gone that it is unsalvageable.

I am astounded at how many responses on her facebook page resoundingly reject LRH references and claim forgery, etc. Scientology certainly has morphed into something no longer recognizable!

Okay, so Debbie is "seriously disaffected". What would this mean in normal earth-man terms?

Let's see...um, imagine if this were Apple Computers instead.

An Apple customer (Bob) doesn't buy the new iMac but instead purchases a Dell computer.

Apple customers (not Apple employees, mind you) get on Facebook and publicly excoriate Bob as being "seriously disaffected" with Apple products. The loyal Apple customers then plot how to cut Bob off from all other Apple customers around the world.

This is Scientology. They take an unhappy customer and brand them "seriously disaffected" instead of calling them what they are. An unhappy customer.

Then, instead of finding out why Bob is unhappy and fixing it, they try everything they can think of to terrorize Bob so he will not talk about his bad experience.

Ron sure did drive normal people to stupid. But Scientologists are pretty good at continuing to do that to themselves on Solo Stupid.

Can't read Debbie's mind, obviously, but I sure had the same questions about how she could have thought her email would have been kept only between scientologists. Shoot! It greeted me first thing on my Facebook notifications which led me to Tony Ortega's blog and I hardly follow any of this stuff! Since she later had Ortega remove her letter which is now in limitedly viral [in scn-related circles] I can only assume she's scared and perhaps naively surprised by the adverse reaction [from her perspective] to her message.

Just because she said it doesn't mean she believed it would happen. But she can't be criticised if she asked people to keep it between them.

I THINK I also remember one about it was inevitable that Scientology would become corrupt and that it would self-destruct, but that was part of the plan . . . one of the staff members read it to me one time, and it's the only time I've ever heard it. I've wondered since then, but thought I made it up until Kookaburra just mentioned something similar. So now I'm curious. Maybe this is all part of LRH's prophecy . . . I have had that same thought, wondering if all of the mighty imperially galactic empire of scientology rests on a small number of people.

The 12,000 might represent the active check-writing Scientologists.

Of that number, I would further estimate that the entire foundation of the cult is being flimsily supported by at most 5000 loyal, hard-core, driven people, as follows:

450 hard core, driven SO members
450 hard core, driven org staff members
50 hard core, driven scn entertainment celebrities
50 hard core, driven wog attorneys, PIs & PR people.
1000 hard core, driven vip business owners
3000 hard core, driven opinion leader scientologists.​

If a few thousand were destabilized, that would bring the cult down. A letter like Debbie Cook's, if it only affects a few hundred of these hard-core, driven cult members is a very substantial blow.

I think it is one of the great myths of Scientology that their "loyal officers" are many in number.

I honestly believe we are only talking about a few thousand key people that are running and feeding the monstrosity known as Scientology.
