When I arrived at FSO in Sept 87, Debbie Cook wasn't on any post at FSO at that point, she was in the throes of "graduating" from the RPF.

She'd been declared a "tiger" and never to hold an executive post again, under any circumstances. Even after graduating the RPF.

She replaced Shawn Quirino as Snr Interne Sup in the next few months and held that post very well. She was respected and even loved by many of the internes as she genuinely cared for us and worked hard to get us through our interneships and home again - as some had been ALMOST 5 YEARS on a Class IV interneship, it was a big button.

She never lost "altitude" but was always someone an interne could talk to.

I had access to various Mission reports that went back uplines when I was there (because I got access to them and I was already a seasoned staff member who made sure I knew what was going on around me AND I was auditing some CMO staffers and also cramming crew members) and reports into what Debbie was doing were glowing. She had a "talent" for getting the best out of people that had nothing to do with selling them something or yelling at them.

Ron Norton was CO at the time and the FSO was making a lot of money - I think it had the first ever $1 or $2 million GI week when I was first there and there was a big staff/student muster to celebrate.

Later, Ron was moved off and Debbie taken from the Interneship and put onto CO. A CMO Msn Report I later saw (after she'd been on the post a few months) said that she, out of all the senior exec structure at FSO, was doing well. The rest all had "problems."

Now I don't have dox with me (I wish I did ) but it was clear to me then (an OOT doing auditing/crammo training) that Debbie wasn't just another SO exec but someone who still had a spark of humanity and could inspire people to work. That she apparently became a tyrant after that is unsurprising, given the environment she was in.

I retain fond memories of her and Wayne (I knew him quite well at FSO and then he later was sent to Sydney as FSC where his then-wife left him for a Sydney public and the poor guy was incredibly distraught about it all) and I wish them well in what they're going through right now. I personally have no doubt that they've planned this well in advance and are doing it out of a sense of remorse for their part in the monster call Co$ Inc.. I have no dox for this, just what I know of them both through my interactions with them back then.

Was it this thread? Can't find it now, but Pooks or someone had posted Flag's recent completions stats.

I noticed that the stats were about 1/3 of PAC's delivery in LA in the mid 80's.

And at THAT time, Flag's delivery was about 3-4X what PAC did.

Cult is very small now.

Hmmm I came across this when I was studying the subject of 'the difficult conversation':

in relation to the helping needy persons resistance, ie. the fear that causes him to hide anything that might be useful for him to have said in the relationship, the law of change paradox (Beisser 1970) exists:

'Law of change paradox says that you do not change (only superficial changes) while trying to become what one is not, but only when you fully identify with what you are'

This means among other things here that when the help needy person may well be scared, so he becomes less afraid, but he if he is to 'pull themselves together "and being brave, being more afraid and will take more care of themselves, also where it could be in his best interest to be more open.

Just thought I'd share I found it relevant for any scientologist who is scared to speak up and found that this law of change paradox resembles scientologists...

What this means is that you will not change from what you are until you are completely willing to be what you are now. Only then will you let go and move on.

I like what Marty said. But his criticism of Larry is not really that much different from what one might equally say about Mary himself on one of his Mike&Marty fishing videos. Particularly the point where, out of nowhere, Marty starts rambling about specific "whole track implant" that David Miscavich has in restimulation.

I mean, does it really make any difference whether someone is yelling "Psychs!!" or "Xenu!!" ?

PS: Unless I am mistaken, I don't recall ever seeing a known CoS OSA agent (e.g. Larry Byrnes) visit Marty's site and engage him in debate. It this the first time? (If so, I guess Debbie Cook's letter is causing a tsunami of new desperation)

I had that same thought but then I remembered - there has been f#ck-all newbies enter the cult in the last ten years and so just about everybody still in there will have seen Debbie's face on a Source mag (or dozens)

This is big, and I'd just like to point out one thing that no-one seems to have mentioned - when have we ever seen scilons fighting in public on Facebook (or anywhere else for that matter) before? wwp has been capturing these cat-fights for posterity (and there are some here and on Marty's blog.) The world is seeing LIVE the inside of the cult for the first time.

We're seeing the tip of the iceberg literally - who knows what's going on beneath the surface?

I suspect there's a lot of manning the life-rafts right now - I'd like more info. to prove it but that's my gut feeling.

Hy was a reg. Debbie was a well-respected (and even loved) CO of the Co$'s biggest money machine. She was a figurehead, and one that's going to be very hard to expunge from the records. She's been in promo. and mags all over the years.
