And ANOTHER OTVlll on their way out...

Thanks Rae,

I do understand that. And I was wrong on my previous...months ago extrapolation of 3000 , it was wrong. That is why I went from the extrapolation of very little data (verbal report to me while on the freewinds on two different visits) to the published names in the Freewinds Magazine.

If you look carefully you will see that the tally came to nineteen hundred and three(1993). I tallied all the numbers from each Mag. Certainly more accurate than my previous guestimation.

I am not doubting your number of 1040, however that is certainly a far ways percentage wise from the 1993 published. Could it be that over 800 or 40+% of the OTVIII s have dropped of the lines? Or could there be other factors?

The reason for no one listed from those dates(1997-2001) is because after the GAT for OTs release, there were no new OTVlll completions until about 2001. No one that completed OTVll previous to 1995 GAT release were allowed to do OTVlll. All people on OTVll, finished with OTVll or OTVlll(before GAT) had to go back to Flag to do the Solo NOts Certainty Course, then redo OTVll, and only then were allowed to do OTVlll. It took years for anyone to finish after that.

I don't know about the 3000 OTVlll number but I am sure of what I wrote. That number I gave was those OTVllls who completed OTVlll AFTER Golden Age of Tech and redoing OTVll, hence the difference probably. One can see, if the 3000 number you write of is correct which I VERY much doubt, that there are quite a number of "OTVllls" that have not gone to do the Solo Nots Certainty course and have, again if that number is correct, fallen by the wayside.

I really couldn't say anything about the 1903 figure but that sounds pretty high still, however, that's definitely a more real figure. The only thing I can absolutely confirm is the Dec '08 figure of when the 1000 New (post GAT) OTVlll figure was met. I'm estimating 1040. I know of many pre-GAT OTVllls that did not get back onto OTVll and are still out there refusing to do so. I wish I could remember what the original figure for OTVll comps was when the ship had it's real Maiden Voyage in 1988. I am almost sure that it was something like 700 but it could have been as many as 1000. There was a definite number of OTVll comps that had to be met before OTVlll was released originally.

I was on the Flag OTC for many many years(12 or 13 yrs in fact) and the figure of how many people were on OTVll was always under 3000..

Also, some of these previous OTVllls (and current one) are dead or disaffected or simply too old to audit.

I was a supervisor at at new UK mission. The whole thing was a fake and when I tried to find a replacement for myself, 30 out of 33 emails bounced back from missions all around Europe and North Africa.
Possibly only 3 exist in reality.

Glad I woke up.
Glad they expelled me for having a baby etc....
Glad I kept on walking.

They still come to my door and try to call.
Silly lot.:D

Just a suggestion...

Welcome Totally Blown, congrats on the baby! Glad you joined us!

Rae, I trust your judgment to do this wisely and with skill and sensitivity, but how about putting those you know who are newly out or leaving in communication with each other? This not talking about it is very disfunctional...Maybe just design a small card like a business or postcard inviting them to look at ESMB, explaining they don't have to join anything and it is free and protects their privacy? Just hand or mail it to them and say, you'd be amazed at how many friends you already have here. That doesn't violate anyone's privacy boundaries.

I don't like for these folks to be isolated, they need support, understanding and encouragement as they create new self-identities and lives for themselves.
