It would pierce the morale of OSA, and help them realise they aren't invincible. They aren't above the law. The world is watching.

In this firefight between Anon612 and Rene Descartes, I like how Anon612 tells it. I think we can't judge the present situation in Clearwater by decade old videos. The first CWPD cops we heard from condemned Scn. Then that corrupt guy took over the department. Let's have a protest this year or ask the Lisa McPherson Fund how the situation there is. Until then, well, Anon612 lives there, so he should know. I lived there once too, but it was in 1976 at the Coca Cabana motel on the coast, and then downtown over a hardware store on Garden Street. Nice town, once you look past the zombie army.

Who said anything about judging the present situation in Clearwater by decade old videos? One video on this thread was from 2000, and was posted as background. It provided an account of how Scientology came into Clearwater in 1975, a brief description by the former Mayor of Clearwater of the situation then, and the situation shortly afterwards, and a description and depiction of the situation 11 years ago.

Scientology has been in Clearwater for 36 years doing what Scientology does.

I don't know to what extent Scientology has infiltrated the police department and related agencies, and it's not likely anyone knows other than Scientology, but excuse me if I don't accept Anon612 as an authority on the subject beacuse he "lives there."

Nope. Anonmomanon steadfastly supports the noxious CWPD. I'm sure there are good officers, but those are not the ones we hear about.

During the LMT days in Clearwater, some officers were making tens of thousands in extra money moonlighting for the cult.

Gravy attracts ants, flies and scumbags. Arresting an old, ill, overweight woman who uses a mobility scooter to get around because the cult was swarming her and preventing her from leaving is just about the type of assholery we've come to expect from CWPD.

If I worked for them, I would be deeply ashamed of my department.

...and oh right, they don't get to pick who they work for offduty, nor does the organization get to pick who they hire. But I've only said that fifty thousand times.

To make even ten thousand dollars in offduty hours, one officer would have to work five hours a day for almost sixty days. The same officer, for the same organization. Which, given how the Clearwater PD arranges the hiring, is impossible (and you know, offduty implies there's an onduty, so they do actually have real jobs to be doing with their time too). It's simply not possible for one cop to make "tens of thousands of dollars" working offduty for Scientology. Your claim is blatantly false.

I was asked to pass this along. The auction for AMA has quite a collection of smaller stuff, and the anon running it would like to know if anyone has something a little bit higher end they'd like to contribute, something with a bit more of a wow factor, because it would help a lot. Anyone who contributes something will have to be responsible for mailing the item to the winner themselves.
