For Immediate Release

A chronological investigative analysis of once-classified intelligence reports, corporate papers, copyright and trademark records, court documents, and other public records has exposed a massive and pervasive co-ordination of the Executive and Judicial Branches in order to effect a cover-up, since at least 1972, of copyrighted Scientology technologies being illegally utilized in United States strategic intelligence. The study shows that the cover-up has reached all the way to the Oval Office in both Republican and Democratic administrations, including those of George Bush and Jimmy Carter. Bush's knowledge and involvement dates back at least to his term as Director of Central Intelligence.

The timeline of events documents that an employee of the National Security Agency (NSA), Dr. Harold Puthoff, infiltrated Scientology, completed its confidential upper-level courses, and almost immediately secured a top-secret contract with the Central Intelligence Agency to set up the CIA-initiated "remote-viewing" intelligence program. The evidence is that the program secretly utilized Scientology techniques--intellectual property of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard--without Hubbard's or any Scientology organization's knowledge or permission, and without compensation.

The study also shows that Scientology's Guardian's Office (GO)--headed by Hubbard's wife Mary Sue--had province over the intellectual properties being illegally used by the federal government.

The GO became embroiled in protracted litigation, via the churches, of numerous Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) suits against NSA, the CIA, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the Department of Defense, the Secret Service, and other Executive Branch departments and agencies.

The FOIA suits sought the release of documents related to Scientology and to L. Ron Hubbard that were known to exist, but were being withheld by the federal intelligence agencies and the Defense Department, among others, on grounds of NATIONAL SECURITY.

One ruling against the Scientologists even went so far as to justify withholding of documents about Scientology on the grounds that the Director of CIA is "responsible for protecting intelligence sources AND METHODS from unauthorized disclosure...[emphasis added]." Neither Hubbard, his wife, nor the Guardian's Office knew the exact nature of the documents, nor about Hubbard's copyrighted materials being illegally used by the federal intelligence agencies.

Scientology's FOIA suits spanned the very time when the top-secret Scientology-based remote viewing program and budget were not only being expanded, but were being utilized by the Department of Defense, the President's National Security Council (NSC), and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. But the documents being sought by the Guardian's Office were never released; the FBI raided the church's offices in July of 1977, and the federal government filed criminal charges accusing Mary Sue Hubbard and the Guardian's Office of "criminal spying"--a strange irony.

The sensational case resulted in Mary Sue Hubbard and 10 Guardian's Office co-defendants being sentenced to jail without a trial by federal Judge Charles R. Richey, which led to the ultimate disbanding of Scientology's Guardian's Office.

This opened the way for a new senior corporation, "Church of Spiritual Technology" (CST), doing business as the "L. Ron Hubbard Library." It was set up in 1982--right after the Supreme Court had upheld Mary Sue Hubbard's conviction--for the express purpose of gaining receivership and control of L. Ron Hubbard's copyrights. But it was in the founding of this corporation that the first hint of the cover-up by the federal government lay buried.

In an EXCLUSIVE 1997 STORY, the PUBLIC RESEARCH FOUNDATION reported that Meade Emory--former Assistant to the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service and former Legislation Attorney, Joint Committee on Taxation--had been a co-founder of CST, Scientology's most senior coporation. That corporation now controls the copyrights for all of L. Ron Hubbard's intellectual properties, once valued at close to $100 million. CST also enjoys ultimate authority over all Scientology-related trademarks, including even the name "L. Ron Hubbard."

But the discovery of Emory, a non-Scientologist, in such an unusual position raised red flags, since Emory's involvement in setting up the corporation had been hidden for fifteen years.

Then it was learned that Emory had been Assistant to Commissioner of IRS Donald C. Alexander from 1975 through 1977. Strangely, those were the very years that an IRS employee, Gerald Wolfe, was supposedly a Scientology "double agent" guilty of numerous thefts of IRS documents for Mary Sue Hubbard and the Guardian's Office--leading to the arrests and convictions.

Other oddities also surfaced:

1. According to a U.S. Claims Court ruling, none of the founders of CST but one had any religious connection with Scientology. They were non-Scientologist tax and probate attorneys.

2. The October 1993 IRS tax-exemption for CST was granted in a then-secret Closing Agreement only after a final round-up of every intellectual property ever produced by L. Ron Hubbard had been completed.

3. On November 29, 1993, scarcely two months after CST had been granted tax exemption by IRS in a secret Closing Agreement, all 7,730 of L. Ron Hubbard{s copyrights were quietly transferred to CST.

PRF's original press release and supporting documents about Meade Emory's ties to CST were sent to major newspapers--including the Wall Street Journal--and to Senator William V. Roth, Jr., Finance Committee Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Joint Committee on Taxation. Within 15 days the secret agreement between IRS and CST, et al. was leaked to WSJ, who never ran the story on Emory.

But the IRS Closing Agreement, once released, revealed that it had been the final step in the United States government's 20-year campaign to secretly get L. Ron Hubbard's copyrighted technologies and techniques--being illegally used by federal agencies in strategic intelligence--firmly under secret federal government control. Putting the copyrights in a 501(c)(3) corporation bypassed the separation clause of the Constitution, because CST, despite its name, is not a church.

So certain was the IRS that the secret agreement would never be exposed that it included a "Continued Conspiracy Clause," requiring all signatories to agree in collusion to protect Meade Emory and all other "current or former" employees of IRS and the United States government against any and all claims of their having been involved in a "continued conspiracy." Yet it was just such a "continued conspiracy" that apparently had brought the secret Closing Agreement into being.

The federal government further secured its position by secretly setting up an illegal and unconstitutional "Church Tax Compliance Committee" to enforce Treasury regulations on the structure and function of the various Scientology organizations, including permanent installations of "Tax Compliance Officers" in each organization.

Senator Roth's inaction on the Executive Summary regarding Meade Emory's involvement with the creation of Scientology's most senior corporation has now raised questions whether the Legislative Branch has been involved in the cover-up as well.

12 months was all they needed to take over Scientology

May 81: Sherman Lenske appears, claims to be the attorney of LRH
July 81: Mary Sue Hubbard is removed from the position of Controller
October 81: Sherman Lenske and others forms Author Services Inc (ASI)
November 81: Sherman Lenske and others forms the Church of Scientology
International (CSI)
January 82: Sherman Lenske and others forms the Religious Technology Center (RTC)
May 82: RTC receives the trademarks
May 82: Sherman Lenske, Meade Emory and others forms Church of Spiritual
Technology (CST)

Today Scientology is owned by CST.

Meade Emory is a tax lawyer who worked for the IRS in 1975-77

About 1975-77; it's during this time period when documents are stolen from
IRS, the docs which appear with the CoS Guardian's Office. It's because of this
”theft” that MSH is convicted and removed from the post of Controller. With
MSH gone Lenske, Emory and others is able to take possession of Scientology

The following is probably true:

Sherman Lenske and Meade Emory were the ones who did it, by the order of someone
(probably psychs) but these two gentlemen is the real reason behind the problems in
the CoS. They made a deal with David Miscavige and brought him to power, out-
manouvered LRH and MSH and they have been doing whatever they wanted with the
CoS and its member since.

We are likely to find a psych connection behind Lenske and Emory.

The purpose is to assault all religious freedoms, before this takeover...Americans had not seen in modern times such an assualt! The communist/socialist manifesto is clear about destroying Christianity and all religions and relpaced by the " State."

All Church organizations with 501 C-3 status can be overthrown, all assets taken at the stroke of a pen unless it agrees to the restructure demamded of these powers.

LRH had 2 choices...join Mary Sue, or Quentin! The Coup was complete.

Scientology's only 'out' is for the rank and file to boycott, strike, and take back the "tech" by making it avaialable by true donation, taking away the "greed factor" and de-mystify it. The "body thetan" teaching is a type of "demons and spirits' of many Faith's doctrine.

L. Ron Hubbard made it clear, "Scientology makes the able more able." Those who gravitated to the 'remote view levels' were already gifted with special abilities and enhanced it through Dianetic proccessing which utilizes techniques for one to "be in present time."

Eastern and Christian discipline's have taught these principles for Eons.
The Cristian principle teaches that "being in The Spirit is being free from past guilt, shame, pain etc.. and thus no anxiety or fear for tomorrow. This is the goal of Dianetics, to be clear (free) of all the same with the exception of believing they have to 'clear' past lives also.

LRH discovered how to assist a person in the same way Martial Artists and the meditative practices of Buddhism help through repetitive actions and proccesses keeping one in the here and now. (PT) Present time where one's mind is free/clear.

OMG - Scientology doesn't work because the government is secretly suppressing it!!!

Not sure why this concludes that the utilization by the u.s. government is 'illegal'. There are laws that allow the government to use any copyrighted technology they wish for 'national security purposes'. There are many precedents for the same. They can even suppress the tech if they feel it is warranted for 'national security'. That's why governments like 'national security' arguments. They are selected to give them great latitude in their actions & decisions.

I have yet to encounter a conspiracy theory that isn't rendered laughable by one simple truth:

There are other countries, you know.

Conspiracy theorists all seem to have in common a need to ascribe their failings to dark forces and the sinister motives of 'the gubmint'.

If the US government had suppressed Scientology (and, frankly, I wish they would step up and do what's right in that regard...), what stopped it from flourishing elsewhere? Not just in other NATO countries like England (Hubbard declared persona non grata) or France (Hubbard convicted in absentia of fraud), but how about Morocco? Where cultists persuaded the government to give it a try as a study technique for government agencies...

Nope. Scientology failed there as well, for the same reason it has failed in the USA: because it's nonsense.

Bullshit. Source documents, please, or STFU. and GTFO.

I could write a solid-sounding "research" piece on how mind-wave technologies all belong to Reynolds in order to scare the public and boost aluminum foil sales. But my source material mysteriously, uh, it was stolen! But the piece is so legit-sounding, it has to be legit!

Basically untenable even if there is documentary evidence to support existence and reason for existence of CSI, CST and RTC.

As Freeminds points out, the same alleged secret powers were in theory freely available to spies working for the intelligence sectors in Britain, France, Germany and Russia, to name only a few of the countries where Scientology has been active since 1970. Far from adopting the cult they have in every case they have leaned very heavily on it.

A more fundamental objection is that many, or most, or all of the more effective of Tubbie's techniques were begged and borrowed from properly published and properly supervised studies which can be found in any good university library. They are not secret and he did not invent very much, if anything. They are capable of turning normal people into abnormal people but not of achieving great levels of mental power. Neither he nor Mary Sue nor Marty nor Mike nor anyone else that I can think of has achieved anything out of the ordinary. Tubbie died insane; Mary Sue I believe suffered three different types of cancer.

If the US government wanted to control Scientology I can only assume it was to turn Tubbie's techniques of mind control to their own use. Is there any evidence that the US government wanted to do this or in fact did this?

Assuming there is a degree of truth in the takeover theory what difference does it make?

Secretivefaggy, the point is that if the theory is correct it means that scientology did work and that doesn't work now because someone has changed it so it's crap, while they use the tech from the real OT shit to spy on the Talliban and Iran.

The proof of them using this wonder stuff would be the almost impossible military victories that America has won.

Where are they? Iraq and Afghanistan?

If it were so they would have spotted 911 before it happened and would have Bin Laden in court.

I see no proof.

Self-invalidating theory

This conspiracy theory, like every single Scientology conspiracy theory, invalidates itself thoroughly.

The theory is predicated on the "fact" that Scientology is valuable and works. ("Valued at 100 million" :duh:)

However, intrinsic to the theory is that Hubbard was total effect of it -- powerless to see it or stop it. In other words, Scientology doesn't work and isn't worth spit.

For the theory to be true, both conditions must exist. :confused2:

As far as I'm concerned the OP is only forwarding someone's drivel that at first glance appears to be some sort of mangled tripe-pile to give some sort of credability to what LRH spewed. Its quite laughable actually and I'd sure like to see the dox proving any of it is remotely true.
LRH, legend in his own mind, did in fact approach the gov't a couple of times and was soundly rejected as a fruit-bat~ "Appears mental..." (now that is documented, as per FBI doc easily found for the morbidly curious). Then there's the mysterious commie brain-washing manual which is speculated by more than a few, to have been origionally penned by the Old Windbag (LRH) himself, I would assume to bolster his own delusion and strike fear into the gubbment.
I'm sure rejection didn't sit well with rotten Ronny, he wasn't accepted into psychotherapy~ hence venom to the psychiatrists, and was derided for his submissions to the gov't sekrit agencies (calling his ex-wife a commie spy probably didn't help either)~ venom at the gov't.
On and on...
The obvious thing is, all the material the demented old fart gleaned and cobbled his theories from was just as available to the powers that were as it was to him!

None of the above is or was secret.

If you have Hal Puthoff, his girl friend, Adrienne Kennedy, his ex wife, Jan Puthoff, Ed Mitchell (astronaut / moon walker), Uri Geller (psychic extraordinaire), and probably a dozen SRI (formely Stanford Research Institute) employees (read this as Ph.Ds) including Marshall Pease, his girl friend, Nancy Kautz, Mel Piestrup (spelling?), and others, whose names I've forgotten, all getting auditing in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Atherton, Santa Clara, and going down to LA for the upper levels, then it isn't a big secret. There is no doubt in my mind, that Artie Maren knew. Artie was no stranger.

The Remote Viewing research was secret research that was no secret among those of us who were there at those Scientology centers.

There was another NASA person, Dr. "Hap" Hazard, there to. He had been on the cover of Life magazine.

Anybody can do a cursory google and come up with names, dates, and activities to fill out what I've written above.

There is a verifiable connection between Scientology, the US government and remote viewing. Of course, the ACTUAL facts are open to much debate.

As an example see

http://www.sc-i-r-s-ology.com/rvtimeline/index.html

The US government has conducted extenisve HIDDEN "research" into "mind control", where MK-ULTRA is just one example. And, it acted to hide most of it.

But, just because some segment of the US government thought at one time that some aspect of Scientology theory might be of some "benefit" to the "intel services" does not at all mean that there is any value to Hubbard's "Bridge to Total Freedom".

The US government (and many other governments and corporations), often using scientists with compromised senses of morality, have closely investigated ANY realm of study that was thought to possibly prove "useful" to them in terms of "realizing their goals".

Remember, Scientology and Scientologists are FAR from the only sorry souls on planet Earth who will happily commit deceitful acts as a means to realizing some end. In other words, it is common for "ideologically-driven" folks of ALL sorts to resort to the maxim that "the end justifies the means". And thus, they leave in their wake a long line of injuries and harm - in the name of realizing their "lofty and wonderful goals and visions of a better tomorrow".

Scientology enjoys no monopoly on the more unsavory aspects of human motivation and behavior.

+++++++

There was a large amount of psi research going on around the Silicon Valley centers (Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Santa Clara, Atherton). John Brodie talked about it ** as I recall** in a Playboy interview in that period. There was a game film that showed him tossing a long ball to Gene Washington (49ers football) where the ball is seen to jump up over the opposite team's player and on to Gene. John and Gene were getting auditing, as was most of the team.

The head of Esalen was a part of the psi research. I've forgotten his name. He had talks with Scientologists. He was not getting auditing, but he was definitely part of the community.

If anyone is under the delusional impression Scientology ever accomplished anything of value, you have to look no further than the physical and mental condition of L. Ron Hubbard himself. If it could accomplish even 1% of what Hubbard claimed it could, to do you think L. Ron Hubbard would have been such a mess? Other than his gift of flimflam, the man was a train wreck on every level imaginable. After 60 years Scientology has absolutely nothing to show for it other than a trail of broken lives and emptied bank accounts, even the celebs they pride themselves on putting so much time, effort, and money into are all past their prime.

Seriously what did Scientology ever have going for it other than some recycled outdated pop psychology and crude hypnosis to uncover a few repressed thoughts of a handful of people?

The Mystery Sandwich of Scientology is rancid and covered with mold, it's time to toss it into trash, nobody is interested in taking a bite of it anymore.
