Another Experiment; this time from MartyLand

I’ll write it again. I had a completely unindoctrinated new Scientologist read KSW – outside the pressures and group agreement inculcated in orgs . His take? “It means, if it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it.” However people became too serious, when Scientologists began taking them too seriously, they lost the magic of a technology that can – if properly applied – make on insouciant.

--------------------------------------------

I'm somewhat amazed at this, because I would expect being presented with KSW as a 'new' Scientologist (not quite sure what that means) would result in a far different reading than 'if it aint broke; don't fix it'.

Since a 'new' Scientologist would seem to include even a John Sweeney (who, since his 'pinch test' has now participated in Scientology Services) I'm unclear on how to evaluate this claim.

Personally, I don't think it ever happened. Does anyone think it did? Does anyone think that sounds like a 'typical' reaction from a 'new' Scientologist to reading 'Keeping Scientology Working'???

How bout a raw meat wog? What would be the difference?

Would 'if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it' qualify as Tech Degrade or Verbal Tech?

If Marty was his "Course Supervisor" and let this new scientologist graduate with "if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it" as an understanding of KSW# 1 ........that would be a High Crime!

KSW #1 is part of the DNA of Scientology.........THAT is why it is at the beginning of EVERY course (not including the Div 6 Course). To come away with that as an understanding is laughable. Someone please grab that student by the shirt collar and don't let him leave until he clears all his MU's! :grouch:

red flag....

uh....if the first word that comes to mind is "insouciant", I'm having a hard time believing that they are not already an indoctrinated Scientologist. It's one of those words that creep into the vocab only once you've drank the kool-aid. Yeah, there have been times I wish I drank Kesey's instead.

I know that the first time I read KSW, I thought it was a joke and never took any of it seriously. By the 100th time, I realized what exactly was meant and got really scared.:omg:

No Zinj, that's not how anyone would take it. I was a new Scientologist once and read KSW I as a new Scientologist.

To me he was saying, this is it, I found it, don't fuck with it or you'll lose any chance of becoming immortal and I'll make sure of it. There's no one who could do what I have done.

Fail to see how anyone could come up with "If it ain't broke don't fix it" but we are talking Martyland.

Must be the end result of one of his rides.

What actually happened after Marty had the WOG read KSW...

MARTY RATHBUN
So you can see, Scientology will help you
fix your broken mind. Whatdya think?

WOG
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

MARTY RATHBUN
If it's a concern about the money, Scientology
can help you fix your finances too.

WOG
I ain't broke, so don't fix that either.

Absofrickinglutely. Call me whatever, but after "duplicating" this PL, I warned every new Div 6 raw meat against squirreling...fucking with it was a fate worse than death...and don't forget, it was made to be the first thing read on EVERY checksheet. If someone feels like sending me a postcard from Martyland...well, OK, but I sure as hell ain't going there. I'm a little burnt out on the "perfectly taped paths". Messy self-realization seems to be a bit more my style:D

"if it aint broke; don't fix it" is NOT the message of KSW at all.
It means that you can't even question it at all.

This was in HCO POLICY LETTER OF 7 FEBRUARY 1965
REISSUED 15 JUNE 1970

I think Marty is in Doubt and simply needs to chill in privacy.
Take LOA or something, I might be wrong though.
One thing I am sure of, he can use a break.

Exactly!

If the "message" was anything remotely like that it would have been:

Scientology: It ain't never broken. And even if it was, only Ron can fix it...not know-best jerkoff squirrels like you.

I'm afraid he can't.
He is too deep into this game of his (of straightening out Scientology once and for all).
Moreover, he can't leave this battlefield of his since he has so many folks looking up to him. He's a Major figure in the battle against criminal cult of Scientology.

If I were in his shoes, I wouldn't be able to "leave it alone for a while".

Scientology is the best game he's ever had (just like many of us here). I highly doubt he'll leave it.

His goal is clear. He wants DM to leave.
He won't give up until it's done. (And, I have to say, he has good reasons to stick to his goal).
Mayo gave up. His "army" was too weak to fight with underhanded operations of Miscavige.
Marty has gathered strong army.

The war is ON.

Make sure you have enough popcorn to follow the events and not lose the track of ongoings. :drama:

It was Marty's game to "drive out the Psychs" when he was in Scientology.

Then he was posted as Intergalactic Chief of Whatever and his new game became to "drive out the SP's"

Then he blew and his new game became to "drive out the COB's"

Maybe one day his game will finally become to "drive out the OTs" and he can have Scientology for just himself and Ron.

HH, love your ways of thinking! :thankyou:

To me, everyone has to have his game. Marty likes his game. The community around him in this game are very decent people.

If you were him, wouldn't you love that game, too?
I would.

I'm sure Marty has many kicks out of what he says. (Check this out: he *SAYS* not *DOES*).
Saying things is a gig in itself. You may gather a huge audience nowadays by proclaiming yourself as a new Messiah.

Internet nowadays rules. You don't have to deliver (as Christ was asked to). You just have to be convincing in your claims.

In fact, one may be a computer geek claiming he is a "beautiful girl".

Mr. Rathbun's story just smacks of exactly the same PR tactics that the C of S is using - make it up! And this sort of schmoozing is pitiful - Marty finds ONE person who sees KSW as being nothing but an innocuous comment, and that somehow proves his point? Whatever the point is. When I read KSW, I felt I had just been threatened. I felt suddenly that there must have been someone "out there" doing something dreadfully wrong against "the tech" and I was being emphatically warned that the C of S would not put up with that, and I'd better never try anything like that -- whatever it was. And puleeze - how many people actually USE the word "insouciant" in everyday life???? Ever???
