ANYBODY CARE TO PREDICT THE MOSEY LITIGATION OUTCOME?

Due to the sheer quantity of knowledge the complainants possess and have access to,
this litigation is different from any in the past. The horizon of possible outcomes is more distant.
But based on past experiences, I prefer not to predict the outcome, for a similar reason as Miscavige won't open the super power building.

$10M, Permanent Protective Order, No gag agreement (save perhaps the finalized settlement amount) and Mosey, Marty and their attys are happily signing off on it today! That's my best guess.

And it wouldn't make any difference which entity pays for it or whether RTC/Miscavige stipulate to anything in the complaint.

It's really a money case and it would be an pure bonus if they pierce damage the cult's corporate shell game. Sure, in a perfect world, COB and the various entities get manhandled and the door opens wide for other prospective litigants---but that is a storybook ending.

I'm still trying to figure out how the cult can get to the decision to settle without one of their Machiavellian Confidentiality agreements. The only way i can see COB getting there is if the alternative is just too awful--that his testimony and cross examination might blow a 1000 foot wide hole in his castle defenses where hordes of litigants can just prance through any time they have a grievance. And of course the specter of opening himself up to perjury. Those two things might make him pay Mosey off to make her go away--even without the gag order.

Some sort of split possible? Not an obvious, visible one, but some deep level split where DM could save himself ONLY by "committing an overt" on the cult and leaving them in a "condition of danger" or where he in effect "goes into treason" to save his own arse. DM and COS are almost synonymous and assumed to be so in all legal dealings as they have been in the past. But.....in the darkness of his little soul...he sees how he can survive.......???

This isn't going to be over quickly. Of course DM will use every cent & every dirty trick (legal & otherwise) to avoid taking the stand.

I imagine a quick settlement will be offered and rejected as it will include a gag order. I just don't think Marty & Mosey are in it for a quick buck or to sell their silence. I think they want to inflict the most amount of damage they can. I'm not saying the money isn't important - it is, just that it's not their sole objective.

I hope Ray, Mosey & Marty are in for the long haul. They will need stamina.

I agree that a quick settlement will be offered and refused with the inevitable

I'm not the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to legal matters, but DM
offered to throw CSI and money under the bus to not be deposed. I also think
the case is lost already in that CO$ have admitted the harrassment and claims
that they were protecting their religious orthodoxy do nothing to diminish their guilt
and in fact make them look stupid. 200 days of harrassing someones wife for religious orthodoxy?

If DM can wiggle out of being personally deposed maybe things can drag on. However I don't think he can wiggle out of that. Tommy Davis will probably testify to DM micro-managing everything and Leah will make sure the world watches. Then Mike and Marty on the stand?

One of the things that interests me is how Tommy Davis will respond to being deposed. Once the cults stalling tactics have been dealt with & Tommy gets in front of Ray Jeffrey, where will his loyalties lie?

Does he lie & say that DM never ordered him into Texas to deal with John Brousseau as he has done in a previous deposition, or does he come clean because of Warren McShane's version of events as told to the Riverside County deputies.

Either way he's toast. Lie (again) and commit another act of perjury, or come clean & hang David Miscavige.

Now that he & Jessica are out, have they decompressed? Is the real Tommy Davis (who everyone says is a really nice guy) ready to come out and tell the truth? Or does the snivelling coward who looks straight into a camera and denies disconnection exists show up on the day?

I think karma will decide this. Tommy did a thankless impossible job for DM
and decided he could do no more. DM would be particularly nasty in this situation.
And Tommy is probably very unhappy he had to commit perjury for DM.

While I am not here to judge those that took a "gag order buy-out" from the Church of Scientology - like Debbie Cook - although I understand why she did it - I cannot imagine what it would be like to KNOW that I am living off of someone else's retirement account or refinance of mortgage and it is NOT OKAY!

One point to ponder...

At some time someone is going to stand up for the truth because it is just the right thing to do. They just cannot consciously take money from Scientology because they know that many people were fleeced out of their life savings, retirement accounts and lost their homes.

I have a feeling Marty and Mike are the two to get this job done. I may be wrong and only time will tell but if anyone can do it - these two have the "knowledge" about Scientology and Miscavige to get the job done~!

Yeah I hope that's what happens. DM in particular just needs to be relieved of any sort of control over anyone's life and probably his own as well.

The cult uses people and discards them when it thinks it has wrung every last drop of blood out of them.

But perhaps there might be some sort of class action you could hitch yourself to?

I’ve got a feeling this case and the Luis Garcia one, coming hard on the heels of the Debbie Cook fiasco and those two PIs who sued the cult, will blow the doors wide open and it will be open season on Miscavige’s hoarded millions.

I can’t imagine he will throw Miscavige under the Bluebird (bus). He is obviously scared of him and his long arms - figuratively speaking of course. And besides he wouldn’t want to do anything to risk losing the payoff he almost certainly got for leaving the SO and keeping his mouth shut.

If he admits to having perjured himself before, he risks a jail term and at the very least some very awkward questions. The only way this would change is if he could arrange for immunity from prosecution. But what has he got to offer? I mean, he’d have to offer some nice juicy inside info on major wrongdoing and criminal activity by a much bigger fish. Hmmm -

While I’d love to think that he would ‘fess up and dump Davey-boy in the crapper, I think he'll try and bluff it out and stick to the original story.

And I really, really hope he has to appear before a jury and is pointedly reminded that lying under oath is a criminal offence punishable by jail time. The look on his face would be priceless.
