ANYBODY CARE TO PREDICT THE MOSEY LITIGATION OUTCOME?

Absolutely!

When it's his ass on the line, he couldn't give a shit about Marty.

That's why a few short hours after Debbie Cook started testifying and humiliating COB in open court (on camera too! weeee!) the COS folded its legal tent and made her a multimillion
dollar offer to please STFU and go away.

From the Stupid Thread, the conversation was about "principled" critics and Debbie Cook's name came up. Remember her Dauntless & Defiant New Year's Eve letter?

That turned out to just be saber-rattling, cuz she took da money and ran!

HH - You have to assume that Bea is going to read your posts.

Then you have to have an automatic understanding that she has been off the board for a while.

And that she does not know anything about Debbie Cook testifying on camera. (And plenty of other things that have happened).

And Bea would really like the link....

It's not my fault I was gone so long and had to change a million poopy diapers. :whistling:

I do not know Mosey at all so I am not able to claim any insight as to how they operate as a couple. But I think a lot of us are assuming that she is the junior party in all this, that she is a cats paw for Marty and therefore the only thing that matters is Marty's opinion and how much he is going to get or not get, how much he will settle for. And I think this is a tad dismissive and dare I say it - blinkered thinking.

That may, indeed, be the truth but maybe Mosey is the tough and the smart one here - after all SHE WAS THE ONE WHO WAS NOT DUMB ENOUGH TO BE IN A CULT FOR 25 YEARS.

As I said - just a different perspective maybe

I know nothing about the personal relationship between Marty and Mosey, so from my point of view, it could just as well be the other way: Mosey the strong one and Marty all cat's paw. But, since I don't live with them, I'd have a hard time finding out out about who's what in their relationship so why bother?

What's interesting is the outcome of this lawsuit - and since I don't have a hand in that either, I'm perfectly fine with just sitting back and waiting.

What I think is brilliant about this suit is that it is Monique's - not Marty's. Any settlement would have to be made with Monique and since no settlement with Monique would apply to Marty, there is no scenario that I can envision that would stop Marty from continuing to do his thing.

Even if Monique signs a gag order - so, what? She has never personally spoken out about the CoS except with regard to the harassment and probably wouldn't have any more to say anyway. The only thing she could agree to would be to non-disclosure of the settlement amount. Even if the CoS caved tomorrow and gave her everything she wants, it still will not shut Marty up.

Monique walks away with $1 million - less attorneys' fees, and Marty is still swinging.

And...she is the one who actually has a profession and a paying job...

Just sayin... :eyeroll:

What if the cofS reversed it's course and DM was to say something along the lines of "OMG I have found out that we were doing this, I did not know personally of course but I am going to step up and take responsibility" If the CofS were to accept the restraining order, and offer to post a bond and to lay a settlement on Mosey and no gag order?

That would have been the wise thing to do. As such, I don't think it is even in their mental inventory to do so. Remember their response to Leah Remini sying the cult want her to loose? The wise thing to do would have been to issue a statement to the effect of: "We are saddened that Mrs. Remini has chosen a different part in life, but we wish her nothing but the best of luck in the upcoming competition. our Church is always open to all who seek spiritual guidance", but in stead they called her "self involved" and indicated they do not at all care for her well being. Considering how easy they could have turned that situation around with just a wee bit of courtecy, I am forced to the conclusion they are unable to act wisly.

Another problem of a more strategic nature is that it is possible the Rathbuns is out for blood. If Miscavige did the "OMG, I'm going to clean house", the Rathbuns could go on to prove Miscavige knew and in fact orchestrated the whole thing, and likely force a much larger reparation and humiliate Miscavige at the same time.

David Miscavige really is in a pickle here.

I agree he is in a pickle and I hope that it gets much worse.

But I don't agree, necessarily, on what the pickle actually is.

How is Rathbun going to prove anything? Miscavige will be able to rebut any testimony by bringing forward loyal staff who will swear up and down he was kept in the dark. Saying something, even knowing something are one side - proving them is a totally different side of things.

You are right - "wisely" is not in their repertoire of responses. That is because the Cof S /Miscavige fear what will happen if the suckers still in see that there is "reasonableness" in the air. The only thing that holds most of the few people left inside in line is the fear that if they deviate one hair from road out they will be declared, lose everything they have slaved for for however long they have been in, will be cut off from friends and family, they may, indeed, even have to face up to the fact that they have wasted vast sums of money and time over something that is a complete crock. If that "fear" is dissipated even a little - people will be out of the door so fast Miscavige will be left holding his dick and a half eaten sandwich.

Mosey has, in my admittedly untrained opinion, a better case than most - she never signed on with the CofS. She never agreed to abide by anything at all. She is just a normal person who has been put through hell by a malignant and odious organization. The CofS lawyers must be wetting themselves at the idea of this ever getting in front of a jury.

I guess the easiest rout would be to prove that he does run the cult like an absolute ruler. I guess quite a lot of people are going to testify to that, including people who will be able to keep their stories straight (unlike people forced to lie, it is very difficult to keep it straight when lying). There may even be some dox to back it up.

Ultimately, it will be up to Jeffrey to squeeze the truth out off testifying culties or catch them in lies. I don't know if that is even possible, but i guess Jeffrey is among the few who could. If it comes to that stage though, I think a really juicy settlement will be on the table very, very fast.

Indeed. Being seen as a "soft" ruler is not what Miscavige is after now.

What is the last word spoken by the female character? (My Midwestern ears are not always good at deciphering British accents).

"Tra-lah."

It's a computer-generated voice. I couldn't get it to reproduce the correct sounds any better than what is on the video.

I just wish that Ron would come back and make it go right.

Hey! You don't think that an absent Ron is an indictment of how stupid Scientology is, do you?

Also, did somebody's "bright think" actually believe that years of crush regging and enemy stalking was going to end well?

Why are there so many SPs around David Miscavige? Seems like everyone is an SP, or ends up as one, if you work for him. How is that even possible if you know LRH tech? The average should only be about 2 1/2 percent. Why is it such a high percentage are ending up SP?

I would like some die-hard Scientologists and Sea Org members to answer... wishful thinking.

----

And for those who are not Int cleared but still in the Sea Org (and actually Scn public too).... What happened to all of the Int Execs? Why is there no-one but COB now? Hmmm????

I'm sure that answer would satisfy all of us and then we'd all smile and head down to our local bOrg for prompt reprogramming, credit card in hand. As HH put it the Modern Science of Mental Gymnastics.

But how did all those SP's get to his Rank?

How did any SP get into the organization at all. The E-meter with a trained monkey operating it, should detect SP from the very beginning. :roflmao:

I just had a thought ...

David Miscavige has already admitted everything he needs to say to prove to any reasonable person -- certainly Judge Waldrip and certainly twelve jurors -- that he runs the whole shebang.

A person could make a "Greatest Hits" video of Miscavige's Shermanesque videos. I'm thinking of all his rants against the SQUIRRELS, the PSYCHS, his un-redacted speech (in 2000?) about how he and Marty dropped in on the IRS and negotiated a tax-exempt status for the church (how "un-RTC-trademarky" was that activity, eh?), all the straight up and vertical stats, more about the SQUIRRELS, more about the PSYCHS. The fact that everyone -- ALL THE SEA ORG are standing up and saluting him as Supreme Rulah -- should convince a jury that this dude is running the show.

Hell, Debbie Cook's video testimony, uttered in the adjoining Texas county, makes it abundantly clear that he is the boss of every single CSI executive on the planet.

What a great video that would make. Lord knows, there's enough raw material to work from. I think this dude is already toast.

LOL!!!!!!
