Incredible parallels

I had tended to overlook how much of Crowley's ideas were saturated by his impressions of Hindu and Buddhist release states of consciousness. One wonders what the religions of the world were like before the last time the Earth's civilizations were wiped from its surface.

Babe of the Abyss

The Babe of the Abyss is not a Grade in the proper sense, being rather a passage between the two Orders. It is an annihilation of all the bonds that compose the self or constitute the Cosmos, a resolution of all complexities into their elements, and these thereby cease to manifest, since things are only knowable in respect of their relation to, and reaction on, other things.

The crossover point between the Golden Dawn outer order and the inner order of the Rosy Cross seems to be this above description.

I particularly find this part interesting. While Crowley emphasized the development of the personal Will, this abyss seems like a point of liability as relationships are what keep one mocked up as the identity one continuously is being. Taking this apart and rendering oneself definition less while 'human' leaves one malleable to being taken over by the others' definitions and roles for the self. I wouldn't want to be in that condition of liability for too long. Maybettyst is why you need your conversations with your Holy Guardian Angel.

Steiner had dedicated a lot of his writing to the original ideology of the Rosicrucians as I discovered in reading the Steiner Archives.

what does that mean?

I was posting a page of Rudolf Steiner's re Michael the Archangel. After reading it more carefully I did not think it related to one's Holy Guardian Angel at all and deleted it. I then went to extract an interesting bit on his Atlantean human beings and my browser crashed.....so you got lucky I guess. Steiner is a deep well and I shouldn't even be looking for bits to post without really understanding his worldview. And THAT, I've come to the conclusion would take me years.

Egyptian Myths and Mysteries Lecture 1: Spiritual Connections between the Culture-streams of Ancient and Modern Times.
Given by Dr Rudolf J.L. Steiner 2nd September 1908 in Leipzig. Read By Dale Brunsvold Translated by Norman Macbeth

I finally have some time to listen to some Steiner. Here, he explains the relationship between the physical evolution of our solar system and various religious and cultural expressions. A few of us here like Steiner, even though he is often difficult to penetrate or find humor in.
This 1908 lecture series seems to be somewhat basic as I can follow it. And it put some of his other works into context.
I share, not to proselytize but to share. I hope a few will tune in.
