Atkinson-Baker and Scientology

Here is a great archived thread on the scientology subreddit I don't remember seeing passed around:

Personal Scientology story of interviewing for Atkinson-Baker.

And, of course we all know this is nothing new for Atkinson-Baker, a Scientology-linked company:

2 Atkinson-Baker Reviews from employees agree, it is a horrible Scientology company

That tends to happen when your name is Atkinson-Baker and your company is owned/run by longtime Atkinson-Baker Scientology whales.

So yeah, Atkinson-Baker IS Scientology. Hello Streisand effect.

Anybody got any good Atkinson-Baker Scientology enabler stories to share for the sake of a lil googlefu? TIA!

"Horrible company. Micromanagement by a horde of unneeded, incompetent middle managers. Terrible HR department -- they exist solely to write you up for supposed policy violations (they don't even follow their own policies half the time) and take management's side in employee complaints/disputes. Constant harassment by bored superiors, lousy pay, 10 days per year accrued days off -- no separate sick leave (you have to use vacation days if you're sick and you can't go over 10). Expensive benefits that lower level employees can't afford. Run more like a factory than an office -- there is a daily quota that must be met, and it increases weekly even though management offers 1) no incentive and 2) no tools to increase efficiency or productivity. Most management hasn't even been through business school, much less any business training -- they got their jobs through their connections to Scientology and just kept getting promoted until they landed a management position. Massive employee turnover, lowest morale I've ever seen. Just a horrible, dark place run by inept, mean people. Stay away."

yep, scientology, lowbies treated like trash, power flows to corrupt mangers, snitch culture, mangers aren't supposed to work just make others work,

"aims of scientology"
"their new universe"
"total freedom"
"game where everybody wins"

LOL, their world is caste system, very near slavery, the ultimate in inequality, even rich and famous when they finish ot8 have to join the "ot committee" which follows miscavages orders... that's why everyone is leaving

I used to work at Atkinson Baker. They had some pretty strange arbitraries is going on. Their idea, the management idea was that scientologists could not sue them so they would hire and fire Scientologist readily. Wogs on the other hand could sue them so they were very careful with wogs. They would tolerate lots of infractions from non Scientologist just to avoid that potential lawsuit.

One incident I remember was a girl tried to commit suicide sitting at her desk. She was in the middle of a breakup and she took a big overdose of some drugs. She put her head down on the desk and I guess she hoped she would never wake up. Somehow someone told the HR people that that was what was going on and they got the ambulance and took her to the hospital. However, you would think that would be actionable and something you would fire somebody over. She was not fired and Atkinson Baker just hoped she would quit so they wouldn't have to be involved in a lawsuit.

Another girl was constantly late. She was a non Scientologist. She also dressed like a prostitute and possibly was one. No one questioned any of her behavior or dress and she was pretty much allowed to do whatever she wanted yet another person ho was a Scientologist who was hired and was a little slow in learning some of the specific Atkinson Baker routine was fired almost immediately.
