I probably did know your father, I'll PM you.
Welcome to this board, which has helped me so much in such a short time.
It can take a while to undo the language thing, but it does happen. It's one of the things that ended up with me here. I was speaking to a family member and thinking "speak freaking English, there are words that mean the same thing!". But they don't know that yet. The language is a symbol of exclusivity and isolation, as is the secret hope that is fostered to find some peace by "getting up the bridge".
I'll get off my soapbox now.
I got your PM, and replied.
For around a year after I left and got into a proper school, I'd try to describe a Scientology word to my friends and ask them if there was a word for what I was trying to say. I'm sure they must have thought I was an idiot! It was incredibly frustrating, to say the least. I'm well out of that now, although sometimes I do still need a friend to be my Scn-to-English dictionary.
That was one of the hardest things about coming back to the real world. On top of having no money, no education, no skills that you can put on a resume, you can't even talk to people properly anymore, and that, I think, is terrifying and evil.
In short, I totally agree with you.
