ok so his personal worth is 3 billion and lets say he has given 100 million to the cult.

That's 3.3% of personal wealth.

3.3%

So those cultees that bankrupt themselves, giving 110% of their personal wealth to try and keep up .. :duh:

Musk is about going to Mars, via physical rockets,

Cartwright ought to marry DM as she is the same height. LOL Both deluded.

Nice thought. What has Nancy been doing since her husband Steve hit rocks from a height of 200' after giving millions of dollars away to a cult?

Yes, it makes me curious why five Scientologists are touring Tesla as a group. The blonde lady between Duggan and Cartwright looks like a familiar Scientology minder/staff person.

The Simpsons voice actress Nancy Cartwright has announced the launch of her new film and television production company, Spotted Cow. With an eye on global audiences, the outfit will look to finance, produce and acquire live action and animated films, television series, as well as entertainment for digital platforms with budgets up to $15M.

Heading up Spotted Cow: Producer and longtime collaborator with Cartwright,
Peter Kjenaas is onboard as President, while producer Monica Padro has been tapped as Vice President. The company’s first project is the coming of age drama In Search Of Fellini starring Ksenia Solo, Maria Bello and Mary Lynn Rajskub. Inspired by Cartwright’s early years in the entertainment industry, the film recently wrapped in Italy and was directed by Taron Lexton and written by Cartwright and Kjenaas. AMBI Distribution is repping worldwide rights and presenting it to buyers at EFM. Kjenaas and Padro are executive producing alongside Kevin J. Burke, founder of entertainment business management firm Wiseman & Burke.

From Tony Ortega:

Scientology’s richest couple buys ‘Holy City,’ a California ghost town and former cult site

snip:

It’s land that has a storied history. In the 1920s, it was the site of a religious commune run by William E. Riker, a religious charlatan and white supremacist who fleeced his flock with the best of them.

“He bilked his people to fund his shangri-la,” said one local who was interviewed by the San Francisco CBS station about the sale.

Hey, Scientology would feel right at home!

We can’t help wondering if Duggan will end up carving out at least part of the parcel for a Scientology drug rehab, or a retreat for stashing away church wives, or maybe just a place for raising wayward boys.

From The Mercury News, 8-18-2016:

snip:

Robert Duggan is a lifelong entrepreneur who saw considerable success in an early Ethernet company and surgical-robotics before striking the mother lode in biotech. The Pharmacyclics CEO reaped a $3.5 billion payday when the dying company developed a revolutionary oncology drug that led to its purchase by pharma giant AbbVie last year. His wife is an artist and some neighbors believe she may have been drawn to the site because longtime resident Tom Stanton ran a beloved art glass shop that was there nearly four decades before he died last year.

"I heard she's interested in setting up a studio for glass art," said Sandy Birkholz, who lives at the top of the hill overlooking Holy City land.

"She learned some trade from him," added Richard Matusich, a real estate agent who listed the property but never met the buyer. "Then he passed, and she might open up another glass studio."

snip:

Apart from Robert Duggan's business dealings, the couple's connection to the Church of Scientology was reported by Bloomberg in a 2013 story that called him the biggest financial contributor to the church. He's also atop a list of donors in a 2009 Scientology pamphlet on the creation of the church's "New Flag Land Base" in Florida. Realtor Nastasi was also on the list, and the pamphlet described them as being part of a "dedicated team of Scientologists who are working shoulder to shoulder to bring about construction of the New Flag Land Base and the ultimate release of Super Power."

I was joking above when I said Trish Duggan looks around 85, she's probably around the same age as her husband.

Tony Ortega has the latest trophy photo that was already posted above along with this comment on his blog today:

"A few months later, photos from the event show up in Impact, and we get to learn which of the super-rich Scientology families “upped their status” in the past year.

Since it’s this pod of generous whales that largely keep Scientology going, Miscavige encourages them by awarding them with giant trophies that signify how much they’ve given. And he has to keep coming up with new names for those trophies because one family in particular keeps forking over bigger and bigger amounts to the IAS war chest (along with a lot of other Scientology projects they prop up).

We’re talking, of course, of Bob and Trish Duggan and their children, the richest Scientologists in the world, and a family we’ve written about extensively in the past.

Once again, the Duggans upped their status in 2015, and Miscavige had to invent yet another name for the level of giving they had achieved. And once again, the Duggans were the only ones who had the honor of having Miscavige actually pose with them and their trophy for a photo. So, behold, the Duggan family, and their new trophy for achieving Diamond Invictus status!"

DugganTrophy2016-e1453500738894.jpg

“Diamond Invictus” — has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? And here’s what the magazine said were Miscavige’s words…

"And this brings us to our conclusion, for which there is no comparison anywhere on Earth. Because we are now talking about Diamond Invictus. This level was specifically created for this evening and represents the unconquerable soul of man. And hence, the trophy bears these words from LRH: “And we will win as surely and inevitably as the Earth will accomplish her next rotation around the sun.” Equally inevitably, we now come to those who are worthy of this title. And, I might add, there exist no adjectives, metaphors, analogies or expressions that can describe what these beings have done. Because their names are such that they leave one momentarily breathless, as if one were in the presence of greatness itself. And that is what they are. Because this is the moment of suspense in which I proudly announce the presence of Bob and Trish Duggan and family, now Diamond Invictus.

Touching, isn’t it? But OK, you’re wondering, just how much does a family have to donate over their careers as Scientologists in order to reach this level?

To answer that question, we’re going to review our method for how we estimate what the richies have given…

In 2006, the IAS published a list of these status levels, and how much you had to have donated over your career in order to qualify…

Patron: $50,000
Patron with Honors: $100,000
Patron Meritorious: $250,000
Silver Meritorious: $500,000
Gold Meritorious: $1,000,000
Platinum Meritorious: $2,500,000
Diamond Meritorious: $5,000,000
Patron Laureate: $10,000,000

A few years later, some additional levels were added, but no dollar amounts were listed. (Scientology had apparently figured out that everything they published ended up on the Internet or something.) The new, even higher levels…

Platinum Laureate
Diamond Laureate
Patron Excalibur
Platinum Excalibur
Diamond Excalibur
Patron Maximus

By extension, you would expect that if they went even higher, the next couple of levels would be Platinum Maximus, and Diamond Maximus. Also, at every level, you can also earn the additional tag “with Honors,” which means that you have given a bit more on the way to the next plateau.

Now, we’ve taken a stab at estimating what these higher statuses might stand for, using a conservative progression that is much less steep than the ones we already know about. Here’s our guesstimate:

Platinum Laureate — $12 million
Diamond Laureate — $15 million
Patron Excalibur — $20 million
Platinum Excalibur — $22 million
Diamond Excalibur — $25 million
Patron Maximus — $30 million
Platinum Maximus — $35 million
Diamond Maximus — $40 million

After we published that list, we heard from a person who had worked in Scientology finances who told us our progression was indeed conservative. But we’re going to stick with it, and now, we’ll try to extend it. Here’s our new guesstimate for the entire list of IAS statuses…

Lifetime membership $5,000
Sponsor $10,000
Crusader $25,000
Patron $50,000
Patron with Honors $100,000
Patron Meritorious $250,000
Silver Meritorious $500,000
Gold Meritorious $1 million
Platinum Meritorious $2.5 million
Diamond Meritorious $5 million
Patron Laureate $10 million
Platinum Laureate $12 million
Diamond Laureate $15 million
Patron Excalibur $20 million
Platinum Excalibur $22 million
Diamond Excalibur $25 million
Patron Maximus $30 million
Platinum Maximus $35 million
Diamond Maximus $40 million
Patron Invictus $50 million
Platinum Invictus $60 million

OK, so now the Duggan family has done it again, extending the top of the status list with “Diamond Invictus.” So what does that mean? We’re going to remain conservative and keep with the current progression. By which we mean, we’re going to assume that the Duggan family received Diamond Invictus status for donating another $10 million in 2015 to reach a total of $70 million to the IAS. The actual amount could be far higher, and we also believe that the Duggans have given millions more for specific Scientology building programs around the world. (But don’t fear for their finances. Bob Duggan sold his pharmaceutical company, Pharmacyclics, for about $22 billion last year, and his personal wealth, according to Forbes, is $3 billion.)"

From Trish Duggan's web site:

Inspired by the incredible works of her mentor, Marlene Rose, the intricately and delicated pieces of the well known Sam Brewster, and the masculine pieces of Chuck Boux, Trish Duggan began collecting works of these acclaimed local glass artists. Her extensive collection led her to be invited to observe the process of glass making by Marlene Rose and her husband Thomas Coates, who is an outstanding architect. Trish Duggan was also invited to see the process of blowing glass by Chuck Boux, the owner of Sigma Glass Studio.

Trish Duggan was captivated by her experience and was encouraged by Marlene to get involved in the process. Soon after, Trish Duggan was experiencing some of the happiest days of her life. With Marlene and Thomas, and with the oversight of Chuck, the joy of creating glass art was evident. Later she studied with the amazing Susan Gott of the Phoenix Studio. So after many years working with her husband in business and raising 8 children, her passion for sand casting with glass finely began!

Trish Duggan firmly believes that one day, St. Petersburg will be comparable to Murano, the center of glass art in Italy. St. Petersburg will be a center for glass creativity, mentoring, learning, sharing and eventually acquiring a finer appreciation of the development, history and process of glass art!
