Call In and Letter Writing

What's OML? I found these( http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/OML), but none of them fit.

I waited until I got a rather large stack, somewhere around 50+ pieces, wrote "ILLEGAL PC" on them and returned them with "RTS" (that way the original sender pays the postage [at least in the states])

I still get occasional and actual letters from an org or two I was onlines at, but no more promo fliers, Super Power Regging, etc.

OML = Off Mailing List. It's a Scio acronym, you should have used the Admin Dictionary.

Due to a recent move, the majority of my Scientology materials are in storage several states away...because of this, I found it easier to ask a helpful thetan instead of making the trip to go get my admin dictionary.

Thanks for clearing it up for me.

My first job at the tender age of 14 was writing letters. Being a bubbly teenager I signed them "much love" as it seemed to be the normal way of signing dispatches. After a couple of weeks I was told there was a phone call for me. It was the wife of a man I had written a C/F letter to, demanding to know who I was and if I was having an affair with her husband because of how the letter was signed. I was just a child.:)

Trust the Psi Corps.
ML (Much Love) was common to see on dispatches, even the nasty ones.

As someone who was involved in the typing of telexes, it was pretty standard just to insert the "ML" even if the original writer had not. I remember some telexes that were so heavy on the abbreviations and acronyms that they would leave modern-day SMS-speke out in the cold.

We recieved about one hundred calls from Flag last month as they were updating CF. The wierd thing is when I finally got pissed off enought to pick up the phone and told this really nice old lady to take me off her list she went into this prepared speech about how even if I have had past problems with people in the church or the church itself I should still stay connected to
"Source" and buy the basics series. Gee I was told I was the only one who didn't like how things were done and here they have this whole speel ready!

I hated the letters asking me to come to some specific org - that couldn't deliver my next action and was hours away from where I lived. I actually wrote some pretty scathing letters in response.

I got really good at changing my voice (before I had caller ID) so when they asked for me, I could say "she's not home".

The multiple mailings is what drove me very crazy - you got more than one person in the house on the mailing list and your mailbox is full. Plus, they would mail to my various names - as in different married names, etc. At one point my household was getting about 3 mailings per person - that meant 9 pieces of the same thing. And a lot of times, these were the "pretty" mags.

You're so Right

Believe it or not the multiple mailing are still coming in. Even after the "big-important-you must call back immediatly-we have some very important questions for you-CF clean up to make sure you are in our records correctly",our mailing list is still completely screwed up! So much for exact duplication. Here's what I requested:

REMOVE me from the mailing list
Result? I now get promo in my maiden name that I have not used in 15 years!

Then we get 2 more alterations of our last name! (3 pieces in all)

Think someones stats are based on pieces of mail sent or are they really this incompetant in the "mecca" of standard tech?

There's some reference, I think it's called Gross Income Stable Datum, that states something like it's the size and not the quality of the org's mailing list that's important. But this is ridiculous.

Maybe some of you remember Mark Lizer, he was call-in I/C at Flag for years. He was a really nice guy, always cheerful, I used to feel so sorry for those staff in call-in, having to sit there all day long calling people who did not want to talk to them,.

Anyway, last I heard Mark has been on the RPF for years now, he is very ill with diabetes and will probably die there.

Does anyone know what happened to his wife Marylene?

Lizer is on the RPF?? That's his reward for all the "riding to the rescue" crap he has done for the CofS? - Paris, Hamburg FSO Call in. This is just ludicrous, that man is owed a LOT.

He also happens to be a good friend.

Ask them what they wanted out of Scientology when they first got involved. Ask them what problems they were solving at the time by getting involved.

Then ask them if they have found that Scientology was what they were told it was at the time when they were first getting involved. Get them to itsa. Accept their answers.

Tell them why you think Scientology lies about a lot of things, and then ask them what they really think about what you said.

Ask them what kind of a world would we have if Scientology ran it. Ask them if they really think we would have more rights and freedoms if Scientology was in charge. Ask them to really think about their answers.

Do it to the next one who calls.

Rather. Rinse. Repeat.

You'll either get some people out of the cult or they'll stop calling you.

Win-win!!

That may have been true when written, or in early days.

However, think how the body ages, DNA does stuff, mis replicates, etc and
eventually the body dies.

The integrity of an orgs CF is of a very low order now days. That applied to london org back in my time in the late seventies early eighties.

I'm sure its worse now.

There is some policy somewhere talking about how outpoints are not
usually visable.

Thats so true re CF. Its never gone to get stats up next thursday.
So ite been neglected since most of COS history.

A Funny Story

This reminds me of a funny moment having to do with CF. When the org was being moved, all public were "required" to put in time on CF. There were letters and files on people going back for years. We had to file all of these old letters and one made me (covertly) LOL:dieslaughing:

Staff member to public: Dear ---,
"what is the worst thing you could imagine happening to you?"
(God, what loser policy was being applied here?)

letter back to staff member: Dear ---,

the worst thing I can imagine happening to me is to recieve another letter from you !

:D :D :D

Alanzo..

My spouse has done some of those questions...lol. They just freeze up and get someone else on the phone then they both yell back and forth at each other. Most the people they have doing those calls seem to be fresh-faced newbie SO recruits from foreign countries...they barely speak English.....lol.
