Mr/s Blanky is quite proud of the fact that no matter what s/he does or accomplishes, s/he "did not think about it".
For example:
Mr/s B - I've got this big project at work this week and I've been going over the steps so I can be sure to be on time and accurate. First I do this, and then I have to set up that, and then come back to the first part, and then.......
Me - Nice. I do that too, think through the steps ahead of time so I have most of the details worked out. See it in my head, yanno?
Mr/s B - Right! Like a practice session.
Me (intentionally using the "T" word) - Yep. Thinking it through in detail so I'm less likely to miss something.
Mr/s B - Oh no! I don't think!! I just look at it.
Me - (playing dumb) Wut? Didn't you just tell me you thought it all through?
Mr/s B - (now getting confused) Well there weren't words. I mean, there were words that I said to you. But in my head there were just pictures. If you could read my mind - you would see the pictures.
Me - Huh. Well, for me the thinking pictures come with words. It increases my ability to get organized and stay on task and on time.
Mr/s B - Interesting.
Now, we are both well educated professionals. And having recently taken on (and won!) the cult's push for more course hours and called a well known saying a platitude...... I think (haha, pun was not intended) I'm ready to give a little gently sustained push back on the Not Thinking idiocy.
Help me understand where the supposed value lies in choosing not to think.
