It was just to identify different labs and folks who broke it down into hits/doses, the basic chemical is what it is. There's been some crap batches, and it degrades if not kept well, there are many variables that can affect it. Just a quick example, in the mid 70's I did some Sandoz 'orange barrel' that was deep-frozen in the 60's, good as it ever got, and then I have done the same that was not stored well and it breaks down into something not-so-pleasant after a bit. YMMV.
Edit~ On auras, have seen many over the years, not all the time though, I do however always have this thing where my arm-hairs stand on end when around creepy-karma'd people, danger near, music I like, etc.. Just adding to keep OP on track![]()
I don't want to derail the thread, but to suppplement what you were saying, here's some more interesting stuff from:
ACID DREAMS, THE COMPLETE SOCIAL HISTORY OF LSD: THE CIA, THE SIXTIES, AND BEYOND by Martin A. Lee & Bruce Shlain
At first Owsley produced LSD in a powder form that could be doled out in gelatin capsules. He also sold it as a liquid ("Mother's Milk") tinted light blue so that distributors could keep track of which sugar cubes had been spiked. But it was hard to control the dosage with this method, so Owsley invested in a professional pill press and soon he started dyeing his tablets a different color each time he turned out a new shipment.
Although there was no difference between the tablets (each contained a carefully measured 250 micrograms), street folklore ascribed specific qualities to every color: red was said to be exceptionally mellow, green was edgy, and blue was the perfect compromise.
And to keep the auras theme going, well, auras doesn't begin to describe some of the visual effects of that stuff back in the sixties!
