Manson Biographer Talks Killer's Inspiration, Current Followers And Dreams Of Being A Pimp

Huffington Post article said:
In an interview with HuffPost Live, Guinn discussed Manson's peculiar way of gaining followers and how Manson continues to collect followers even today. Manson, a manipulative guru who convinced his followers to kill, actually honed his power of persuasion with Dale Carnegie's "How To Win Friends and Influence People" as well as L. Ron Hubbard's self-help philosophy of Dianetics, Guinn revealed.

charlie did quite a bit of study of scientology and not just the manipulate and control thing. he had some grasp of "OT" materials; not the auditing levels, Ph.L. and 8-8008 stuff which can powerfully combine with lsd. yes, i have one some psychedelic research myself with some interesting results...

Not entirely. The Beatles had more far more influence. Manson didn't brainwash or hypnotize anyone to join him of his "family". They all shared the same values & interests during the 60s and on.

i don't know what he did to recruit 'em, but he mixed his own batch of snake oil to control 'em

just by the way, if his lawyer had had basic competence he would not have been convicted. or more likely, if his lawyer had chosen to display basic competence on his behalf...

Arnie Lerma has some interesting stuff on his website about how Charlie Manson had e-meters at the Spahn Ranch.

Charles Manson was an extreme psychopath, probably from birth. He might have had dabbled in Scientology, Dale Carnegie, etc., but he was a psychopath, pure and simple. He did what he did, and it wasn't from some book or "religion". It was from his insanity.

Excerpt of scientology terminology used - from Charles Manson's statement to the court in 1970:

"You can't bring the past back up and postulate or mock up a picture..."

And what was Hubbard?

A Gentleman Psychopath?

What was Hannibal Lechter's character?

Hannibal Lechter, in Silence of the Lambs, never blinks once...

Manson clearly integrated considerable scientology dogma into his mind.

Fragment of a poem by Charlie:

It's an illusion
Postulated, mocked up
Through confusion
Confusion, it's an illusion
Utter confusion

You're entitled to your opinion. There was ALOT of evidence against Manson at the prosecution's disposal, despite Manson's loony lawyer, Irving Kanarek.

A distinction Manson's conviction holds is that it was the only time a man was convicted for murders he did not commit by his own hand, but by the bodies of the minds he controlled.

This distinction may sound familiar to those acquainted with $cientology.
