Children in the Sea Org

I truly do NOT believe that this stems from the old thetans in young bodies comment- like I said, all one has to do is look at the Child Dn book. I think it's just cultic mindset, all people are resented and enslaved.

You're right, other cults do that too. I think the old thetan theory was just a way to justify it. You know, you're really this great big god-like being and everything wrong in the universe is all your fault. Or you must be applying the tech wrong because it works every time, etc...

I had to pick up peoples kids also. By this time there were several big rooms of kids. They weren't sleeping on the floor. They had these nasty little flimsy cots. Kinda like the things I dry my special clothes on now. The whole place reeked of piss. It was a totally disgusting place. Oh wait, I think some of them did sleep on the floor. I had forgotten. I hope that whoever was responsible for this is rotting in hell and I feel bad that I witnessed it and didn't do anything about it.

When I was doing my 2 month stint in the SO (yeah, I know I said I'd do a billion years but I broke a nail and someone sai...) I was having one of my 1/2 days off and ran into one of my friend's kids. His mom and I were both on staff at AO and I knew the kid was supposed to be in school. So I talked to him to find out what was up since he looked dejected. He was ditching and lonely, missing his parents. So I took him to a Denny's or some cafe and bought him breakfast. He was about 10 or 11. When we were finished eating he jumped up and started to clean off the table. I laughed and told him they had people there that did that! When the waitress left the check on the table he asked me if that was the vote (or talley? what did they call the opinion card you were suppose to fill out after eating in the galley?). Anyway, I had to explain to him that it was the bill for the food. He still didn't understand so I explained exchange in the "wog" world like when he got to go to the store and buy candy. He understood then but I was freaked out. The kid had never been to a restaurant! But $17.50 a week just didn't allow for eating out. And I too wished I had done something about all that crap. I also wish the parents had done something.

My sister and I were S.O. kids during the 80's and 90's. One time, my sister got so sick that my mom took her to the doctor and she had a cockaroch in her ear that she got from the cadet org or the berthing. Another time, my mom went to pick up my sister at night....my sister was blue and had thrown up and was sleeping in it,as well as inhaling it in her lungs. She was 3 years old. The nannies didn't even notice.

Hi free1996,
I hate to hear that happened to you and your sister. I hope you are both okay now. You shouldn't have had to go through any of that. I am so sorry.

'Ditching'? Ditching *what*?

$17.50? Where would a SO member get $17.50?

Did you and the kid both write Knowledge Reports about your escapade at Denny's?

Obviously our view of Sea Org life is faulty. Obviously.

HAHAHA! I sure didn't write up a KR. I don't know if he did or not cause I was out of that shit hole pretty quick after that! Never heard a word about it from anybody though.

And I did get paid $17.50 a week. Yah hoo!! Oh and I didn't write him up for ditching either cause I was ditching course myself all the time and had total sympathy for him. LOL So I guess we were both out ethics and prolly sp's! Just really evil the both of us. Man, I hope that kid made it outta there too.

Faulty would be a bit of an understatement!

You hit the nail right on the head for me! I feel some survivor's guilt that I didn't do anything about it and I later ran away to safety, but those kids had to stay in that hole. I'm not sure if there was anything I could effectively do. I probably would have had a quick escort into the RPF and it would have been a long time before I got out. I might have been too broken to even leave after that, like many RPFers I saw.

Hi guys,

I'm not an ex so I don't want to overstay any welcome here...

I've been looking for ways of getting scientology investigated and have tried to tip off the NSPCC about the treatment of children in Scientology but they said they can't investigate without any specific examples or if I haven't witnessed it myself. Are any of you able to provide specific examples?

Thanks for your story

Hi Momanon

Thanks for your post. It is just so sad, but I can believe it. I got out after the birth of my baby. My mother came to see me and the new baby, (I was on staff) and when I told her what was going to happen to my baby ie fulltime day-care, she asked me 'Is this what you want for your baby?' and I knew I had to leave.

My son is now 25 and very gorgeous. What a life he would have had if we'd stayed.

Please keep writing your stories. It does feel so good.

Hi Daedle,

My examples would be too old. I got out of $cientology in the 80's. We need to find you a recent defectee. There aren't that many kids in the Sea Org anymore since they decided kids, marriage and all that stupid family stuff was disrupting their work, ie money flow. I don't imagine there are any small children left but I may be wrong. There is a website dedicated to ex-sci kids so that they can tell their storys. Also there are some threads on this board about $cientology kids. You might have luck talking to people that have posted on that thread. I am not sure of the ex-scientology kids website address is but it should show up if you Google it. Hope this helps and good luck with what you are doing. I would love to see something happen like that.:)

The state did come in

We already knew when they were coming. We all had to "act" as students in a class with whatever teacher they put there for the day. We were always cleaning, so that wasn't a problem. We had nannies that would pick our lice and cut or shave our heads. We had washer and dryers to clean clothes. Alot of times they would move the kids in different buildings to avoid problems.

If they really saw our berthing, meals, lack of play time, learning skills, abuse, and how many hours if any that we spent with a parent would be amazing.

There are still children that are in their early 20's still in the Sea Org that remember all to well everything that happen.

People were afraid back then to cause a scene. We were untouchable.

I appreciate you telling me what it was like to grow up in the cadet org, it helps to get a bigger picture. I knew I was just witnessing the tip of the iceburg myself. So sorry that your childhood was stolen from you like that.:bighug:

Thanks for your story. It is very important that people have access to reports such as yours, rather than the PR efforts of the Church (or both, and make their own decisions).

I find that many people who were in for only a very short time still find that it had a large impact on their lives and are still straightening it out in their heads and hearts 20 or more years later. I, too, was involved with the Church for only a brief period (2 years on staff, five years as public, although declared during that time, and not doing much other than reading books and listening to lectures on my own, other than a few courses for my A - E steps, until I finally quit on those, and resigned myself from the Church completely), but obviously still have interest in it, though my final word to any Church-member was in October of 1995.

but obviously still have interest in it

And this interest, is why you are here? Would you say on any level it consumes your life, how often a day do you think of it?
