They advertise pretty regularly. I see ads where the OP of the ad says they are looking for a partner to practice Dianetics, the phone number leads to the clearwater mission of Sci. Also, lots of people selling books and casettes, and tapes and all kinds of stuff in the book sections.

I've never heard of Ybor City. Is this part of Tampa? Anyone know if this is their Idle Org or a move to lessen the rent? Seems awfully short notice for a move.

Yep, I've seen the ads for courses but never an ad to attend an event.

I've been to Ybor City, it's near Tampa. And this isn't new, or sudden, news. They've been planning this move to Ybor for quite a while.

This is not a new unannounced move, they have been promoting it for over a year. They already had an Ideal Org and they are just moving into an area with more foot traffic, closer for staff, and that is much bigger and fancier. Not saying this will help them at all, as Ybor is actually a club/music area that is frequented mostly by drunks and musicians...

Da brothers is gon run da first black Org.

Ybor City is for drinking and college students, and also buying your recreational drugs. It's a good place to recruit though. Ybor is open minded.

By the way Tampa won't get the extra millions allocated by Obama for the high speed railway from there to Orlando. The new governor of Florida, Rick Scott, has decided to dedicate his attention to more valuable projects. He has passed on taking the money. I agree with him. The jobs created would not cover a wide enough base, but might do a lot for special interests. :eyeroll: I wonder 'whose' special interests were interesting to Obama.

Of course they're going to larger premises, of course it's all due to expansion and of course this will improve their contact and reach.

Tampa was one of the very first ideal orgs, it was bought and renovated at great expense and in under business model there is NO WAY they have had anything like a realistic return on their investment.

LRH policy says that three moves equals a fire.

So the plain truth is that they're moving to solve a problem, what would that problem be?

Could it be the same problem that all of the ideal orgs have had?

No idea if this part of the reason for the move but Tampa org had parking issues big time. People routinely had to park on street in a residential neighborhood and around a public park and anyone could see that it was a problem. It was in a run down neighborhood too so who knows if there started to have break-in's into cars. It used the be crowded there years ago at least in the hgc. I wonder how it has been doing in the past couple years. Hopefully shrinking like the rest of the orgs.

I don't know why people keep insisting that all Ideal Orgs have the same problem, are empty, etc. Most? Yes. But there are particular circumstances with each one. Tampa has a tremendous built-in public. Regardless of what people want to believe, it is not failing as an org, and will likely be the last or one of the last to go when it all comes down. The courserooms are not empty, the staff are not all starving. The truth is, they had a tiny space before, and few public. They moved into their Ideal Org, a much larger space, and got a lot more public. Now they are moving into an even larger space that does handle some problems they were having in the previous space. Will this mean even more public? Who knows. Was it necessary? Who knows. But for all those who hope the place is about to close down or something...sorry, but you are wrong.
