Opter's right. Michael is a great guy and would probably love to help you out with some advice. He's been there and back.
I have never had a problem when I've told people I was in the cult. I just wait until I know them and they know me well enough to know I'm not crazy or whatever.
Most people I've told are just really interested about it.
So just relax and be yourself. I think you're going to be fine judging by your first post.
