What's new

Criminal timeline of Scientology

I wonder if it's possible to somehow combine these timelines: the wacky conspiracy ones, the factual ones & the Marcabian ones all together in a document/flowchart.

It would be a hell of a job but probably worth doing.

It might show up some things that haven't been seen before?? :confused2:

My point exactly...patterns can be seen, etc...it's worthy of scholarly research and exposition...collating all known timelines and see what big pictures emerge...mega trends, patterns, etc. Sure would explain a lot.

Might just be the real undoing of COS with our government...un-tax exempt them for good! If clear lines can be drawn.

Worth the effort for some bright young thing!

How many different time lines are we talking about? If we're talking about just a few, it could be done like this:Import each time line into Excel and give each one it's own Color code. Then hit sort, export as HTML and you should be done.

Green = factual

Red = Marcabian
Black = Identical event in all timelines.

Is that what you mean?

EDIT: Or we could just use number codes.

[1] = factual
[2] = Marcabian
[3] = Identical event in all timelines.

I think the Marcabians should get blue, for the sky.

CIA Commie hunters should definitely get the red....

Seriously, it's a good workable idea, Mr. Nobody! :happydance:

Well, I found another timeline of sorts. You can read it here. This one revolves around the infamous Excalibur manuscript so it may not be of any true value.

Gustave Le Bon 1841-1931 is most likely source for Excalibur
Author of "The Psychology of Crowds" French edition 1895

(Perhaps a related book) THE PSYCHOLOGY OF SUGGESTION by Boris Sidis 1898 New York, D Appleton and co.

Brief teaser:

Gustave Le Bon, founder of social psychology Father of collective behavior theory, THE CROWD gives the basic principles of manipulating crowds into servile flocks, a "group mind" concept.

"I have heard that Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, [Mussolini] and deGaulle were at one time or another, all close students of Le Bon's work.

THE CROWD has probably had as much practical influence on modern political behavior as any single document, including THE PRINCE"

p-353

An inside, aside:

"Imagine my delight in finding the dynamic duo of the rules of mayhem merged in one sentence, married to one concept and under the umbrella of Lenin, Hitler, and Stalin. I sez to me, "This is the stuff of EXCALIBUR." "This is the inspirational, practical, and spiritual, "source" of "Excalibur".

THE CROWD, the bible of "brainwashing", is the technical handbook of manipulative persuasion.

"Outcomes of persuasion center on the stimulation of beliefs, attitudes, opinions and actions that run on a scale from "no response" to "conversion", passing through points of limited modification and shifts in dispositions, as well as the introduction of the wedge of doubt, a critically important result of crowd persuasion in certain instances."

Chapter 19 "The Crowd" revisited

An awesome 558-page book of brutal insights that shoots high on the top ten books list. The other chapters which I have just scanned but not read, like, "The Power of Power" and "Merchants of God" are equally brilliant. The above quotes are taken from this book.

A must read book. Four stars, gives a sampling of Le Bon’s other works.

Q & A talk to a person who read the manuscripts, from notes, some verbatim

There are three versions of Excalibur manuscripts in archives.

The title of one manuscript is "THE ONE COMMAND."

One manuscript is typewritten, about 300 pages on 8 ½ x 14 paper.

Another seems to be pieces of the above

Another manuscript is a carbon copy (no master) and is different from the above version

Q: Is there any real difference in content between the two versions?

A: No! The are essentially the same

The introductions change somewhat. In one version LRH states that while in a dental operation he was given a drug, Narco_____? And went under. While he was under LRH went into a vortex and was exposed to a tremendous amount of knowledge. There was a command given while he was under that, "you will forget all this". When he came out of the operation he didn’t forget.

After the dental operation he went to his cabin in Port Orchard [The cabin is adjacent to the main house on the property] and stayed up six days and six nights writing Excalibur. LRH did not eat but was drinking beer.

Q. Is there any OT data in Excalibur" Are there any references to NOTS beings?

A. No OT data in Excalibur. No reference to NOTS beings that I can recall. [see end note 1 for source used by Hubbard]

Q. What is Excalibur about?

A. Essentially the theme is "SURVIVE"
It describes how every aspect of life traces back to survival.
Cells = survive
Family = survive
Groups = survive
Etc.

Q. Is Excalibur based on any other school of thought?

A. Not that I can recall.

Q. The person is "THE ABERREE 1961 DEC with the article, "Excalibur , by L. RON HUBBARD" by Arthur J. Burks and reads it for the first time, He is then asked if this is similar to the original?

A. Pretty much so. I don’t recall a lot of the specifics.

The person said that LRH commented on Excalibur at length in a 1943 NAVY DIARY.
In discussing the MOTIVES OF LRH this person said something not in context to EXCALIBUR that seems important now. He said:

"FEAR – NO FEAR, TWO STATES, YOU ARE EITHER IN OR OUT

From another source – A Sea Org Member

"LRH has left orders that EXCALIBUR is never to be published.

The reason being is that it "HAS MIS-DIRECTORS IN THE WAY THE TECH SHOULD GO."

Time Track Summary

April, 1938

LRH writes Excalibur almost nonstop in a log cabin in Port Orchard Washington State. The grounds and the cabin have been purchased by the sea Org as a national shrine.

May 2 1938

Hubbard writes letter to Simon and Shuster regarding Excalibur

May-June 1938

Arthur J. Burks is first person to read EXCALIBUR, is so impressed with the book that he wants to publish it. Burks takes the book to a small publishing company called Egmont Press on East 44th Street in NY and it was read by the managing editor and others. The upshot of it was they were afraid to publish it. Ron was angry

Around same period as above

Presumably Ron "had sent telegrams to several book publishers, telling them that he had written "THE BOOK" and that they were to meet him at Penn Station, and he would discuss it with them and go with whomever gave him the best offer.

Whether he actually did this or not, I don’t know, but its right in line with something he would do (From "ABERREE" 1961 Dec)

No date 1938

Burks writes a two page BIOGRAPHY of L Ron Hubbard, apparently for inclusion in Hubbard’s unpublished philosophical work EXCALIBUR. The biography was part of a PR pack that was on display at AOLA about 1982. It has since been moved.

June 1938 TRUE EXPERIENCES pulp magazine

TRUE EXPERIENCES, a pulp magazine contains a story called EXCALIBUR. The authors name is not L. Ron Hubbard however, it may be a pseudonym.

August 1938

MARVEL SCIENCE STORIES, a science fiction pulp magazine has a story by Arthur J. Burks called "SURVIVAL"

Data from a person who read LRH’s letters to his wife during this period says that LRH was quite upset at Burks for lifting this idea and using it. Something to that effect.

This sequel to "SURVIVAL" appears in MARVEL SCIENCE STORIES 1938 Nov and is called, "EXODUS".

August 1938 SKIPPER LETTER excerpts:

"Foolishly perhaps, but determined none the less, I have high hopes of smashing my name into history so violently that it will take a legendary form even if all the books are destroyed. That goal is the real goal as far as I’m concerned. Things which stand too consistently in its way may be nervous. It’s a pretty big job. In a hundred years Roosevelt will have been forgotten – which gives some idea of the magnitude of my attempt."

"When I wrote it I gave myself an education which outranks that of anyone else. I don’t know but it might seem that it takes terrific brain work to get that thing assembled and useable in the head. I do know that I could formulate a political platform, for instance, which would encompass the support of the unemployed, the industrialist and the clerk and day laborer all at one and the same time. And enthusiastic support it would be."

"I seem to have a sort of personal awareness which only begins to come alive when I begin to believe in a destiny. And then a strange force stirs in me and seem completely aloof and wholly invincible."

"Psychiatrists, reaching the high of a dusty desk, tell us that Alexander and Jenghiz Khan and Napoleon were madmen. I know they were maligning some very intelligent gentlemen. So anybody who dares say that maybe he’s going to cut things up considerably is immediately branded as a egomaniac or something equally ridiculous so that little men can still save their hides in the face of possible fury. It'’ one thing to go nutty and state, "I’m Napoleon, nobody dares touch me," and quite another to say, "If I watch my step and don’t let anything stop me, I can make Napoleon look like a punk! That’s the difference."

"It’s a big joke, this living. God was feeling sardonic the day he created the universe. So its rather up to at least one man every few centuries to pop up and come just as close to making him swallow his laughter as possible."

"I’m thirty percent showman after all because I instinctively dive toward popular huzzahs."

THE GREAT AMEN by Arthur J Burks, Egmont press NY 1938

A fiction work about George Carter, a red headed, full blooded giant of a man with all the consuming appetites and weaknesses of every robust male. Although killed in action in France (1917), he has returned, by an extraordinary twist of fate, to America as the most famous man in the world.

Famous because HE CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD!

George Carter, the living ghost, returned to the United States with one burning and tremendous purpose.

"Employing press, platform and radio, he started something which affected the thinking of every nation, and in his lusty, violent, hell-for-leather way, he managed to SEAR HIS MEMORY INTO THE ETERNAL CONSCIOUSNESS OF CIVILIZATION. He because the terror of presidents and dictators, the idol of women, and children's greatest friend. Invincible, certain of success by the promise in his miraculous rebirth, he pronounced a NEW SCHEME OF THINGS WHICH MADE HIM AT ONCE THE MOST HATED AND BEST LOVED HUMAN IN THE WORLD."

It’s not however complete. I’ve had witholds on you. The Russians have got the original."

1948 [Perhaps first mention of Excalibur since 1938]

Forrest J. Akerman, LRH’s literary agent takes Ron "to see two would be publishers and they are interested in taking two or three of his serials or novels and put them in hardcovers for him. Well he stayed up there quite late! And he had this old rattle trap car at the time. Would have been 1948-1949 I guess. So he drove me home. My recollection is it was 4:00 in the morning. He began telling me this remarkable story."

"He said that during the war, that he had been on an operating table and that he had died. And directly after he died he found himself in spirit form and he kind of looked back at the body he’d been in there, but then he shrugged his incaporial shoulders and said well, where do we go from here I wonder? And he said that his attention was attracted to what was sort of like a great wall of china with a fantastic wacking great ornate gate over there and he thought well, that looks interesting, I believe I’ll waft over there and investigate that. So he got over to the gate and as it happens in all the mystery movies, why, it opened without any human agency and he drifted through and my god! There on the other side of this gate spread out like an intellectual smorgasbord as the SUM TOTAL OF HUMAN KNOWLEDGE!"

[After absorbing much knowledge he returns to his body ]

"And the spirit went back and laid down in the body and he opens his eyes and looked at the nurse and said "Ah, I was dead wasn’t I?" Just as the surgeon walked in the room. And if looks could have killed ah….. the surgeon you know… [said to] the nurse, "What did you tell this man he died for? He’s gonna have a heart attack now, he really will die." "No, no, no, that’s alright," he said, "it doesn’t disturb me… I know… She didn’t tell me, I know I died there for a moment or so, and ah.." And then he thought…"I often do wake up and I’ve had a wonderful dream and I want to recapture it, and according to him, I don’t know what kind of an operation he could have had that he bounced off the operating table and over to his quonset hut and got a couple of reems of paper and a couple gallons of scalding hot black coffee and sat down at his magic typewriter and a couple of million words flew out of his fingers in the next few days called "X CALIBUR" or "The Dark Sword". So he said, when he got out of the …rid of the war, I don’t know whether… I guess he was in the Navy. You know, he got out of the Navy. He begot himself of this magic manuscript and he shopped it around to some publishers in New York.

And he kept getting turned down because they said, oh my god, this is .. this is too revolutionary! If you just had a small advance on Freud or Adler or _?___. But this just wipes out ..the slate clean and starts all over again and it’s just too much to absorb.

Umm, the only clue he ever gave me about it, which I didn’t understand, he said it would eliminate all fear from a human being."…

"JUST A MINUTE" by Jean Cox Page 9

(record of minutes of previous meetings)

[Hubbard’s Official Navy records do not support his grandiose claims, when he was discharged it he was described as merely suffering from a urethral discharge, and the same bad eyesight he had when he entered the service, and never saw combat, and was considered "UNFIT FOR COMMAND"]

January 29th; 425th Consecutive Meeting:

Forrest J Ackerman (sole owner of the ACKERMAN AUTHOR’S AGENCY) is agenting some stories for L. Ron Hubbard, of whom all of you have heard. Forrest had spent most of the previous night with that gentleman and had picked up a lot of biographical information from him. It seems that Hubbard had quite a few remarkable experiences at which his stories have only hinted, and one of them is that during an operation being performed on him for certain injuries received in the service he was actually dead for eight minutes!

The astounded pause was well timed for in that moment who should walk in but Rex Ward and Roger Phillips Graham -- the Rog Phillips of AMAZING STORIES!

The incredible thing is -- during the discussion that followed, it was not Forrest who carried the ball forward into the enemy but Dale Hart. It was mostly a quiet argument, though. Very few derogatory remarks were made from AMAZING'S corner or form ours. No personal remarks were exchanged.

Mr. Phillips let out quite a few definite statement, among them the following:

"There isn't going to be any more Shaver Mystery two issues from now. On March 10, the April issue of Amazing will be on the stands and it will contain the summation of the Shaver Mystery, the proof of the Shaver Mystery, complete with photographs, letters, and so forth. Palmer's editorial will go something like this: 'We have definitely proved that the Shaver Mystery is the truth and since this magazine is devoted to fiction, rather than fact, we must discontinue it.'" And, among other things, he stated that the letter which was sent to Forrest was 'news' of Palmer's insanity was Hamling and Palmer's idea of a joke. "My fan column will have nothing to do with Shaver," he concluded. When he left, Phillips announced that he had been favorably impressed with Forrest and the club.
NOTE: "The Shaver Mystery" and "DIANETICS" are the lead subjects of discussion in THE VISUAL ENCYCLOPEDIA OF SCI-FI by Brian Ash (1977) in the section called "FRINGE CULTS". In AMAZING STORIES of 1945 March, Richard Shaver submits a very bizarre theory in the form of a TRUE EXPERIENCE (fact not fiction) story. The result was a TEN FOLD READER’S LETTER RESPONSE AND AN UNPRECEDENTED RISE IN CIRCULATION. This response and demand was so great that articles appeared in AMAZING STORIES for years. In 1947 July an entire issue was devoted to the "SHAVER MYSTERY". When the "SHAVER MYSTERIES" were ordered to be stopped, the editor, Ray Plamer, left and started a new magazine called, FATE.

January 1948 - Another Account of the Excalibur Story as told to the Science Fiction Fantasy Group

Text reproduced below of pages 6 & 7 of the SCIENCE FICTION ADVERTISER July 1952 from the article, "Deus Ex Machina: A Study of A.E. Van Voght"

The first thing I discovered was that dianetics was invented by the science fiction writer, L. Ron Hubbard. I was somewhat surprised at this. Hubbard -- to fill in the background briefly -- was prominent in Los Angeles science fiction fan circles in 1948. He first showed up on January of that year. At that time, he told us a story more remarkable than most of his printed pieces: It seems 'that during an operation being performed on him for certain injuries received in the service he was actually dead for eight minutes.' While dead, he went toiling up a long hill; voices ahead were calling him -- then, something pulled him back. He woke up on the 'white mule' being wheeled out of the surgery. 'I was dead, wasn't I?' he said to the nurse. 'She looked startled.' The doctor came over 'I was dead, wasn't I?' he said to the doctor. 'The doctor gave the nurse a dirty look for having told me.' Hubbard realized that while he was dead, he had received a tremendous inspiration, a great Message which he must impart to others. He sat at his typewriter for six days and nights and nothing came out -- then 'Excalibur' emerged. 'Excalibur' contains the basic metaphysical secrets of the Universe. He sent it around to some publishers; they all hastily rejected it. In all, twelve people read it. Four of them went insane, the other eight were seriously disturbed. Finally, he realized that 'Excalibur' was too potent. He locked it away in a bank vault. But then, later, he informed us that he would try publishing a 'diluted' version of it.

Shortly after this, it was mentioned in an article on him in Writers' Markets and Methods that he was writing a book entitled 'Traumatic Psychology'. Now, of course, 'traumatic psychology' has emerged as 'dianetics.' Dianetics, I was recently told by a friend of Hubbard's, is based upon one chapter of 'Excalibur'.

April 29 1948 First Talk by LRH on Near Death Experience

SHANGRL-LA 1948 Jul-Aug Number 7 gives a summary of LRH’s talk on page 11 and corrections on page 4, This is from JUST A MINUTE by Jean Cox. Both Pages are reproduced below.

  • A repeat mention of Hubbard being dead for eight minutes.
  • Hubbard studies medical aspects during his convalescence
  • "IMORTALITY" statement by Hubbard
  • "After months of research, and a lifetime of picking up odd bits of knowledge, Hubbard has become convinced that man can be made to live a very long time. In fact, he is convinced that only a half-dozen prescriptions, if administered regularly and constantly CAN PRODUCE IMMORTALITY."
  • "It’s the bio-chemist who’s going to lengthen our life. If chemists and biologists are not interfered with, they will give to the world many cheap and easy ways to produce "limited immortality."

EXCALIBUR - Page 7

JUST A MINUTE by JEAN COX

April 29th: 438th Consecutive Meeting:

This meeting, we had a guest speaker, L. Ron Hubbard.

His untitled talk was about "...the future immediately before us ..." He said: "During the last two or three years, several things have happened that enable us to see quite a chunk of eternity."

Hubbard served as an officer in the United States Navy during the war. He was injured and had to receive treatment for his wounds. As has been recorded before, he was dead for eight minutes by the surgical clock, and was brought back to life by the use of several emergency measures.

Hubbard stressed the difficulty of obtaining books on medical subjects. Many of them cost as much as $25, and the best ones are all but unavailable. The layman, therefore, has a lot of trouble in satisfying his curiosity on matters medical, if he has such a curiosity. Hubbard had a consuming curiosity. He satisfied it only through perseverance and stratagem. Even then, he wouldn't have found out much, had he not had lots of time on his hands during a period of convalescence.

After months of research, and a lifetime of picking up odd bits of knowledge, Hubbard has become convinced that man can be made to live a very long time. In fact, he is convinced that only a half-dozen prescriptions, if administered regularly and constantly, can produce "immortality."

He mentioned the anti-reticular serum which the Russians are supposed to have. "Russia does have it, but they do not have testosterone in any appreciable quantities." He emphasized: "I want to point out that there is one man in the world today who is not getting any younger and that there is one nation that is not getting any softer. It is not getting any softer because its leaders are not getting any softer. That man is Joseph Stalin and that country is Russia ..."

Hubbard places great faith in the twenty-three amino acids. Too, he thinks testosterone very efficacious. He admits that some ways of introducing it into the body are inefficient, but declares that the stuff, if permitted to exercise its full effect, produces a very salutary reaction.

"It's the bio-chemist who's going to lengthen our life. If chemists and biologists are not interfered with, they will give to the world many cheap and easy ways to produce 'limited immortality.'"

He concluded: "By necessity, the doctor is only a practitioner, not a scientist. Therefore, there is a need for greater cooperation between the fields of medicine and the scientific fields."

Ackerman told us the the Elmer Rice play, THE ADDING MACHINE, a fantasy, was showing at the Circle Theatre. He recommended it, and suggested that the club get up a party and go to see it. The idea was accepted, of course. ((Ed's Note: About 15 of us enjoyed seeing the play.))

FLASH: The editor has just read the Minutes of Jean Cox, and He notices a terrific misquotation. L. Ron Hubbard did not say that Joe Stalin is not getting any younger; he said that Joe Stalin is not getting any older. -- He does look youthful in the newsreels ...
May 6 1948

LRH attends the LASF’s meeting not as a guest speaker but two of his contributions to the meeting are recorded. One on the subject of Edgar Allen Poe not being a drunkard and dope fiend and the incredulous story of Sax Rohmer creator of the insidious Dr. Fu Manchu refusing a SATURDAY EVENING POST offer of $75,000 to write a new Fu Manchu story.

From SHANGRL-LA 1948 Jul-Aug

May 11 1948 Perhaps this is the meeting WHERE LRH HYPNOTIZES VARIOUS MEMBERS

May 11th; 440th Consecutive Meeting:

"Nothing happenned at all at this meeting; at least nothing I’m allowed to put in the minutes. L Ron Hubbard amused us for hours but they tell me to be very discreet in mentioning it so I can’t put it in the minutes."

Arthur J. Cox’s Story of LRH’s Stage Type Hypnotism, Science-Fiction Advertiser July 1952, Pages 7 & 8 are reproduced below:

Much of the discussion dealt with Hubbard's activities when he was in Los Angeles. Van Vogt had been more impressed with Hubbard than most of us. Hubbard, it seems, had never told him the story of his death and resurrection. In fact, Hubbard had never told him much of anything; my impression is that he had mostly listened while van Vogt talked.

When Hubbard had been there, both he and van Vogt had been interested in hypnosis. Their approaches to the subject, however, were at opposite poles. Van Vogt's interest seemed to be speculative, experimenatl. He used what is sometimes called 'the laboratory technique' in hypnosis, characterized by its calm, scholarly approach, dependent upon a maximum of co-operation from the subject, and having as its end some definite goal. Hubbard used 'the stage technique'. He delighted in having his subjects sing 'God Bless America', seemingly under the impression that their listeners were entranced, view cavorting kangaroos through water glasses and be forced to take off their shoes 'because of the heat'. Hubbard seemed to be the more adept of the two, though he, despite his statements to the contrary, was obviously just learning hypnosis. He showed his usual social ease and command in handling it, but his work was often slip-shod -- he'd forget to bring his subject out of hypnosis, for instance, after he'd finished with him.

Van Vogt seemed to feel that Hubbard had done some mysterious things while he was in Los Angeles. It seemed to him that at least one person whom Hubbard had hypnotized had much improved -- that there had been a change in his personality for the better. This person, though, had no memories of any extra-curricular activities on the part of Hubbard in their hypnosis sessions. It was true that he had once gone to Hubbard for advice about some emotional difficulties but all Hubbard had done (as he recalled) was to recommend that he read Dale Carnegie's 'How to Win Friends and Influence People'. But this didn't necessarily mean anything as, after this hypothetical dianeticoid-hypnoid session, amnesia might have introduced. I informed van Vogt that this person was amenable to hypnotic investigation to see if Hubbard had done anything with him of which he wasn't conscious and van Vogt was interested, but somehow it never came off. However, other efforts were made along that line: Another person who had been hypnotized by Hubbard once was willing, and a group of us journeyed over to his place for some hypnotic detective work. Nothing was discovered from him, but -- almost incidentally -- Cooke, who was doing the actual work, decided to 'warm up' on my brother, who is a deep-trance subject. And it was discovered that Hubbard had given him a post-hypnotic suggestion to meet him one day on a certain street corner. Hubbard had then, apparently, had him do various little tricks such as being 'forced' to hold his hands on a 'red hot' wooden railing, then had patted him on the shoulder, laughing, and told him he could go home. Nothing very dramatic.
May 11th 1948 continued Arthur Cox’s Account of LRH Stage Hypnosis Tech

  • What is significant is that LRH hypnotized a person and BETTERED HIM with a change in his personality.
  • Ron used a post-hypnotic command on Arthur Cox’s brother without his knowledge. This was discovered when Arthur Cox and Charles Edward Cooke (a psychologist), did some hypnotic detective work on Cox’s brother. It was discovered that Ron had Cox’s brother meet him on a certain day on a certain street corner and had him do various little tricks such as being "forced" to hold his hands on a "red hot" wooden railing.

FORREST J. ACKERMAN INTERVIEW after 29 April 1980 LRH STAGE HYPNOSIS ACCOUNT (sections reproduced below from the transcript)

Well, 45 years ago there was established a Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society. I'm a charter member. I was at the very first meeting and I've been to 1500 meetings off and on in between. IT was a period when Ron came around to our club. He was living in Los Angeles. And what I particularly remember about his appearances there was an evening of spectacular hypotism when he hypnotized just about every kid in the club. I remember he gave one young man a ... what would you call it ... In any event, the boy was convinced that cupped in his hand, he had a little tiny Kangaroo that was hopping around and I remember he came over and showed the Kangaroo to me. And ah, one by one Ron was hypnotizing everybody in the club. He gave one boy a post hypnotic suggestion, he said now ah, I'll snap my fingers and bring you out of it and about 3 minutes from now you're gonna hear the telephone ring and you'll go over and someone will be making you a fantastic offer ah ... on a brand new automobile. But your gonna resist no matter how great the offer, your gonna come up with some reason that you can't accept it. So we were all trying to keep straight faces and see what was gonna happen and carring on in a natural fashion and then this boy with the post hypnotic suggestion looked kind of puzzled and looked over at the phone which of course wasn't ringing and he went over and he took it off the hook and seemed to be listening to a voice in his mind for a few minutes, oh, well really, a brand new Cad, never! ... only driven one mile? Only $500.00! Yea, gee that certainly is a bargain but gee, I only have $350.00 in the bank. Oh, you'd shave off a $150.00! I could have it for $350.00, well, well the only problem is taht that $350.00 is earmarked for a present for my mother. Well yea, I suppose my mother would, would think I should have a brand new Cadillac instead of a present for her, that would make her happy but ... and you know .... but, but, but. Then he got it down to where the invisible voice was gonna give it away. He was, well, well, ah ... My teacher taught me never to except a gift unless you can return, or what ever it was you know, he kept coming up with all, all ... We were all standing around holding our sides trying to keep from being hysterical and then Ron told one other boy, he said well now I'm gonna bring you out of this. At some point I'm just going to scratch the tip of my nose and (snap) you'll go instantly asleep. Well everybody was so fasinated by Ron's performance, that they clustered around him. Ahd ah ... one mad moment his nose actually itched you know, and he'd forgotten all about the special command. He kind of scratched his nose. I happened to be standing right behind this boy. Instantly limp, he fell right into my arms (laugh).

Well, lets see, Ron wise. Well, I'm his agent and it's to Ron's advantage and mine to know all his names, ah ... he's ... far as I know those are it. Now ah ... there are people who believe that he wrote under the name of Fredrick K. Inglehart I belive. So I queried Ron cause I says gee, this is news to me and lets sell your Fredrick Inglehart stories if thats so, but he said no, that was not one of his names. I know no reason that he wouldn't tell me all his names because he's anxious for me to keep his work in print. The only two I know are Kurt Van Rachen and ah, Rene LaFayette.

Q. What kind of impression did he make on you when you first met him?

A. As he came around the club and entertained us nightly. I've forgotten the details of it, but I recall some story he told about, I think when he was with a Science fiction author or so, possibly with L. Sprage DeCamp and there was something or other going on up north around one of the poles, you know, some confrontation between him and a Polar bear I think, where Ron won 2 falls out of 3 or something like that.

My main early memory of him is as a consumite story teller. He kept everybody fascinated. As I'm talking, more and more things are coming back to me.

Lets see, I guess in any biograph it isn't all sweetness and light and as a matter of fact, a ...

June 3 1948 L Ron Hubbard Currently Ill in Bed

"Eph Koenisgsberg thought it would be nice if we could buy some little gift for L. Ron Hubbard, currently ill in bed, Louise Lupeir testified that he had a sweet tooth so a box of candy was bought – and a card. The card was a birth announcement, humorosly done up (sic), in commemoration of the publishing of "FINAL BLACKOUT"

Mike Scoles announced that Hubbard is doing a dissertation on a part of the first chapter of his mysterious book book, "EXCALIBUR," and that he will permit us to read it. He is writing a book along the same lines, to be entitled TRAUMATIC PSYCHOLOGY.

"Hubbard named his religion Scientology and gave it spirituality by adding the notion of an IMMORTAL SOUL, or "thetan".

April 25, 1952

My dear friend;

As this goes out I am advised of two data: a fellow in Wichita now states he has five hundred thousand to devote to destroying Dianetics; and my bank account is $0.02. I know you will help even this situation a little.

The closing of Hubbard College in Wichita seems inevitable and the books there are lost.

1952 SECOND OFFER REFUSED

Conversation with Helen O’Brien 6 February 1987, A bonifide offer to purchase EXCALIBUR arrived in Phoenix on letterhead stationary from a millionaire in St. Louis or New Orleans. Hellen showed the letter to LRH and he refused the offer.

One of the Dianetic "ghosts" that has haunted auditing and training rooms is rumors of a super-super book by the author of "Dianetics", which, in the telling, gained such monumental proportions that at one time, the unpublished manuscript was offered to anyone anxious to satiate their curiosity for $1,500 - specially printed, bound, and boxed, with a key to protect its precious contents. There were many inquiries, but no takers, and the Editor knows of only one bargain seeker who thought his rights as an "Associate Member" entitled him to buy "Excalibur" for half price, as he could other books in the Hubbard word factory.

But the sale never was made, and the would-be purchaser was advised that if he was seeking "data", more could be found in "8-80" than in the "mystery book", and we know of none other wishing to risk $1,500 - or even $750 - to see if they, too, would "go insane" as rumor claimed happened to the first halfdozen who read the manuscript on "Excalibur".

Actually, we began to discount the existence of any manuscript by this name, classifying it with the many claimed "clears" whose actuality and/or identity have been and still are as transient as the seasons. We didn't DENY its existence - we just remained skeptical. And there is a difference.

That skepticism now has been punctured by the accompanying story, written from a tape made by our trusted writer, Arthur J. Burks, which he sent to another skeptic, Art Coulter, and which was forwarded to us. Since Mr. Burks edited the manuscript when it still was "hot" from the typewriter, we feel that his analysis and report are more acceptable than the 99, 867,234½ rumors which have been more or less in existence for the past decade.

We have no illusions that publication of this data will stop the deftly-planted rumors concerning "Excalibur", since those most susceptible to the "mystery" are not ABERREE fans or subscribers. But for posterity's sake, we offer this evidence that there actually WAS a book called "Excalibur", and that ALL of the first six persons thru whose hands the manuscript moved didn't have happen to them what rumor says happened to them.
Winter of 1952/3 Excalibur for Sale offer is printed in the New Yorker Magazine

Slant No 7, 1952/3 Winter. A sci-fi fan magazine has an article between pages 56 and 57 called, "MIGHTY LIKE A ROSICRUCIAN" dealing with LRH’s dying between the war and getting privy to all the knowledge of the universe and writing EXCALIBUR

"He [Hubbard] hauled it round various publishing houses, but none of them could take it. In fact their readers kept committing suicide, their minds giving way under the impact of these transcendental ideas. On the last occasion, according to Elron, he was present in the publishing office when the Reader entered, laid the MS on the desk, and left the room again by way of the window. Since the window was on the 40th floor neither the Reader or Elron ever recovered from this experience"

The article mentioned that you can now purchase EXCALIBUR for $1,000 and sign a waiver.

Sep 20 1967 - Ron Journal 1967 – OTIII –or- EXCALIBUR REVISITED

In RON’s Journal 1967 or from UP magazine #1, 1968 the following is stated.

"The Story of Grade III OT by L Ron Hubbard, called "The Wall of Fire" by Hubbard in this tape]

"The mystery of this universe and this particular area of the universe has been so far as its track is concerned completely occluded. No one has ever been able to make any breakthrough and come off with it and know what happened.

As a matter of fact it is so occluded that if anyone tried to penetrate it as I’m sure many have, THEY DIED. THE MATERIAL INVOLVED IN THIS SECTOR IS SO VICIOUS THAT IT IS CAREFULLY ARRANGED TO KILL ANYONE IF HE DISCOVERS THE EXACT TRUTH ABOUT IT."

It cost many tens of thousands of dollars to get access to these materials until they showed up on the Internet in 1995.

[I just had to include all these similarities of MYSTERY, SO VICIOUS THAT IT CAN KILL, AND BIG BUCKS all around these items from 1952 or 1968. In 1995 after OTIII was made available to the world on the Internet, the NY Times closed a story about the posting with:

"However, no epidemic has been reported"

June 11 1952 A.E. Van Vogt relates Excalibur Story to Dianetic Conference

In Wichita Van Vogt tells the EXCALIBUR story and adds the following:

Page 113 DIANETIC AUDITORS BULLETIN VOL III No. 1 July 1952 [Mr. Van Vogt’s association with the movement was brief]

October 1955 Arthur J. Burks speaks on Excalibur for first time since 1938

"You're poking a lot of fun at my old friend L. Ron Hubbard, whom I know for 20 years before Dianetics. I was the first man to read his EXCALIBUR. He says the first half dozen went crazy, and he may be right. In any event my MONITORS (by name for what the Church calls Guardian Angels) partially explains LRH, though not by name. It starts serially in October in CRION Magazine, Ural R. Murphy, editor, 521 Central Ave., Charlotte, N.C. I want the world to know for several reasons, two anyway: MONITORS is reassuring and I'm leveling with it, and the proceeds go to medically supervised research into what lies behind disease." -- Arthur J. Burks, Paradise, Penn.

ABERREE 1955 October page 15 (A letter to the editor)

End Note 1 - It is apparent that the great charlatan L Ron Hubbard wanted you to think OTIII and the NOTS, NEDS and other secret upper levels came from Excalibur. However, the true source is from a book also published around the turn of the last century, © 1882 by John Ballou called "OHASPE", notable is that OHASPE was claimed to have been written by "automatic writing" mentioned by Hubbard in Dianetics. The concepts use to describe the condition the OT levels are a cure for is in this book. The dense, esoteric, nomenclature does not make for easy reading of OHASPE or of Dianetics.

On the "OT Levels" is where you get rid of infestations of body thetans

drujas is word used for evil spirit or hubbard's "body" "thetan")

" A knot was bound upon me: foul smelling slaves were clinched upon me, millions of them, tens of millions; and the shafts of their curses pierced my soul: I was as one lacerated and bound with salt" page 490 P. 21

"Oh that I could be freed from them" page 491 P.24

"2. Gessica had the vessels constructed with walls of fire around the margins, to prevent the drujas escaping. And there were built in all four hundred vessels. Each capable of carrying one hundred million drujias.

"the ethereans drove the drujas into the vessels, whereupon the door way in the wall of the ship closed. And then the workers of the ship put it under way…

In the first year, Gessica delivered five thousand million drujias, in the second, he delivered thirty five thousand million drujias

A lot of people don't think that any secret element took over the CofS, but that there were only a series of changes, as there had been changes since the 1950s.

To bring this down to Earth a little. Here are some excerpts from some key documents.

1938, August, L. Ron Hubbard writes to his first wife Polly and discusses his unpublished manuscript 'Excalibur':

"Living is a pretty grim joke, but a joke just the same. The entire function of man is to survive. Not for 'what' but just to survive... I turned the thing up [the 'dynamic principle of existence: Survive!'], so it's up to me to survive in a big way.

"Personal immortality is only to be gained through the printed word, barred note, or painted canvas or hard granite. Foolishly perhaps, but determined none the less, I have high hopes of smashing my name into history so violently that it will take a legendary form even if all the books are destroyed. That goal is the real goal as far as I am concerned. Things which stand too consistently in my way make me nervous.

"It's a pretty big job. In a hundred years Roosevelt will have been forgotten - which gives some idea of the magnitude of my attempt."

1946, Hubbard's 'Affirmations':

"Your writing has a deep hypnotic effect on people and they are always pleased with what you write...

"Your psychology is advanced and true and wonderful. It hypnotizes people. It predicts their emotions, for you are their ruler...

"Men are your slaves."

From Judge Breckenridge's summation, 1984:

"The organization clearly is schizophrenic and paranoid, and this bizarre combination seems to be a reflection of its founder LRH. The evidence portrays a man who has been virtually a pathological liar...

"The writings and documents in evidence additionally reflect his egotism, greed, avarice, lust for power, and vindictiveness and aggressiveness against persons perceived by him to be disloyal or hostile.

"At the same time it appears that he is charismatic and highly capable of motivating, organizing, controlling, manipulating, and inspiring his adherents..."

From a 1991 article by David Mayo, on 'Clear':

"It was PR and marketing considerations that led Hubbard to decide that certain people were 'clear' at a certain point..."

And from Russell Miller's interview of David Mayo from August 1986:

"He told me he was obsessed with an insatiable lust for power and money. He said it very emphatically. He thought it wasn't possible to get enough. He didn't say it as if it was a fault, just his frustration that he couldn't get enough."

I'm reposting a post from ARS dated 21st December 1999. You can read the original post here:

https://groups.google.com/group/alt.religion.scientology/msg/3627a029734e5013?hl=en

I have edited it somewhat to remove extra comments (and sickly Hubbard praise that was making me puke) to try to reduce it enough to post it here. Unfortunately it is still a 78 page word document.

This was originally posted by a Hubbard sympathizer (it's all DM's fault) and who one bought into the IRS conspiracy story, so understand where he is coming from if you decide to read this VERY lengthy post.

I'm posting it because I've never seen the history of Scientology put into a time line like this one. I found it fascinating to read and it gave me a greater understanding of HOW & WHY things happened from the 60s onwards in Scientology.

I don't believe everything that is written here, and I certainly don't agree with a lot of the author's opinions but he's done a good job in pulling apart the history into months, years & decades.

I think there might be some value in it for historians and someone might even want to re-write this document & remove the bias. It's a huge job but someone might be interested....Did someone say Veda???? :coolwink:

It's way too long to post in one go so I'm going to chop it up over probably a dozen or more posts.

Part 1

CRIMINAL TIME TRACK

1954

The Church of Scientology of California is founded. It acts as the mother church. It is initially granted tax exempt status.

1966

LRH sells Saint Hill Manor to the Church of Scientology of California.

March 1966

LRH resigns as executive director. He establishes the Guardian's Office (G.O.). He appoints Mary Sue Hubbard as Controller over all Scientology organizations and the G.O. Between 1966 and 1981, LRH, MSH and the G.O. exercised total control over all Church assets, bank accounts, property, copyrights and trademarks.

One of the key policies applied by the G.O. is "Fair Game". It states that an enemy of Scientology may be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued, or lied to or destroyed.

1967

The IRS removes the C of S of California from the roster of tax exempt organizations. The IRS says it is a for-profit business that enriches church officials.
Note: How do they know that? Obviously someone on the inside gave them financial data. Who was their plant/informant? The point is - this shows they infiltrated the church.
LRH obtains the yacht Apollo and starts the Sea Org. He manages Scientology from there.

1969

In Founding Church of Scientology v United States, the Court of Claims found that some of the Founding Church's money inured to the individual benefit of LRH and family. This included a house maintained by the Church, a percentage of the Church's income, and other royalties and commissions. The court based its finding of inurement on informal loans made to LRH that were never explained.

Decade of the 1970's

In the 1960's decade tech had fallen out to the degree that "quicky grades" were being delivered. That meant only one process was run per grade, so people were not getting the gains they should have obtained from auditing.

LRH applied KSW and handled this, so that all processes for each grade were done. The result was that in the decade of the 1970's, orgs were teaming with people. Each org had hundreds of people on staff and hundreds of preclears and students on lines daily. At that time - Scientology was fun.

The U.S. Intelligence community is engaged in a psychic arms race with Russia. They are conducting mind control experiments and researching all kinds of psychic phenomena. Thus they were interested in Scientology exteriorization tech and other OT phenomena.

Hal Puthoff works for the National Security Agency (NSA). He joins Scientology and goes up to OT 3. After that he goes straight into the CIA-spawned "Remote Viewing Program" at Stanford Research Institute (SRI) in Palo Alto, California.

"Remote Viewing" was just another way of saying exteriorization, they are the same thing.

The other two key participants in the SRI "Remote Viewing Program" were Ingo Swann and Pat Price. Price was an OT 4 and Swann was an OT 7 (who also had a Top Secret Clearance with the military).

These three OTs conducted experiments to scientifically document and prove the phenomena of exteriorization.

The scientific method used to document exteriorization was this:

Ingo Swann and Pat Price would have their bodies physically located at SRI in Palo Alto. A team of scientists would leave Palo Alto and go to some other physical location in the world. Swann and Price would exteriorize and go to the site of the remote scientists and take a look. Swann and Price would then return to their bodies in Palo Alto and accurately describe the location of the remote scientists in some other part of the world.

In addition to the exteriorization experiments, they conducted experiments that scientifically proved that an OT could influence a magnetic field with his thought.

Records of all of these experiments were kept and Puthoff then wrote a book about the experiments, entitled "Remote Viewing."

1972

Hal Puthoff is still the head of the CIA's Remote Viewing Program at (SRI). He remains the head of this program until 1985. Also involved is Louis Jolyn West, a psychiatrist who is a brainwashing specialist, and CIA ties going back to the early 1950's.

Ingo Swann uses his ability to exteriorize to spy on Russia, on behalf of the US Intelligence community. Pat Price was the best at remote viewing. He is said to have gone on from there to work directly for the CIA, with Ken Kress as his handler.

Later in time, Pat Price decided to leave his spy work for the CIA and return to SRI. He stopped over in Las Vegas and died of a purported heart attack in his hotel room. There was no autopsy performed, allegedly due to the persuasion of an unknown individual with a briefcase full of Price's medical records.

Ingo Swann then set up a training program to teach others how to do Remote Viewing.

This, of course, uses Scientology exteriorization techniques, such as anchor point processes and Route 1 processes out of the LRH book Creation Of Human Ability.

To test Swann's program, CIA officer, Major Ed Dames, and five others go to SRI as a training group. The results were more than anyone had anticipated. Major Dames says that within 6 months the team members were producing psychically derived data with more consistency and accuracy than the most renown natural (untrained) psychics in the world.

Major Dames then acts as the Training and Operations Officer at the SRI Remote Viewing Program for "a new psychic intelligence community". In other words, they were using the ability to exteriorize for spying purposes.
Note: In the 1990s, Major Dames offers a course in "remote viewing" (exteriorization) to the public for $4,500.00 a person. He also sells tapes about this to the public for $299 each. Although he is using Scientology technology to do this, RTC leaves him totally alone. Why is that, RTC?
1972 - 1982

From 1972 to 1982, LRH and MSH created a Liberian Corporation called the Religious Research Foundation with numbered bank accounts in Liechtenstein. The RRF and these bank accounts were dominated and controlled by LRH. In excess of 100 million dollars belonging to the Church of Scientology was illegally transferred into the RRF accounts, for the personal control and use of LRH. This constituted unlawful inurement.

After LRH died, these funds were then within the estate of LRH where they came to be in the possession, custody and control of Norman Starkey, executor of LRH's estate. It is alleged that these funds were then illegally seized and stolen by David Miscavige in a fraud perpetrated on LRH's heirs.

3 December 1972

The Apollo has been under repair in Lisbon, Portugal. LRH meets Jim Denkelsey and Paul Preston there and they fly to the U.S. He lives in Queens, New York for about 10 months before returning to the ship.

June 1973

Due to an off-hand remark by a US District Court judge that the government knew something incriminating about Hubbard, LRH writes the Snow White program. The Snow White program was for the G.O. Intelligence Bureau to obtain all government files on Scientology.

15 September 1974

Cindy Raymond is working for the United States Guardian's Office Intelligence Bureau located in Los Angeles. To comply with the Snow White program, Cindy recruits Gerald Wolfe to infiltrate the IRS offices in Washington D.C.

18 November 1974

Gerald Wolfe is hired as a clerk by the IRS in Washington, D.C. For the next two years, he and Michael Meisner steal and copy IRS and Department of Justice files on Scientology. Many illegal acts were committed. Electronic intercepting of oral IRS communications, forging government passes, infiltrating the government, stealing records belonging to the IRS, Justice Department, and the US Attorney's Office.
Note:They found the OT materials in government files - more evidence the church was infiltrated.
It should be understood that the Guardian's Office had an Intelligence Bureau. It was this Bureau that committed various crimes. This Bureau investigated enemies of the Church, including infiltrating enemy groups with spies. It was charged with obtaining enemy files on the Church. It was common for illegal methods to be used to obtain enemy files, such as using lock picks and even breaking and entering.

The Intelligence Bureau was also charged with handling enemies and has its own tech for doing so. Part of its tech was to try and locate crimes that had been committed by the person attacking Scientology and have them arrested for those crimes. If no actual crimes could be found, then black operations were used to set the person up for crimes he actually did not commit. An example would be planting illegal drugs on him and calling the police, who would arrest him for possession of illegal drugs.

Other Intelligence Bureau handling tech was to use hate and protect buttons. The way this worked was to find out what the enemy's boss hated and then set up circumstances to make the enemy guilty of those things in the eyes of his boss. If his boss hates homosexuals, the black operation would be to have homosexuals call the boss at work and ask to talk to the enemy. The end result was to make the boss think the enemy was a homosexual; hate him for it, resulting in the boss firing the enemy.

Another example of a black operation, using the protect button. Find out what the enemy is trying to protect and threaten it. Let's say the enemy is trying to protect his marriage. Threaten to destroy his marriage. Have a prostitute call the wife and say she slept with the enemy. The end result is the enemy stops attacking Scientology to protect his marriage.

Following are a few of the actual black operations done by the Intelligence Bureau:

Paulette Cooper wrote an anti-Scientology book. Intelligence agents mailed out a bomb threat on her stationary, making it appear that Cooper had done it. This got the FBI after her.

Another intelligence operation was done to Cooper. An agent became her boyfriend. The boyfriend then reinforced and played upon Cooper's suicidal tendencies in the hopes that she would commit suicide.

In 1976 Clearwater Mayor Gabe Cazares was involved in litigation with the Church. One of the intelligence black operations run on him was an attempt to implicate him in a staged hit and run accident. Another intelligence operation done on him was that arrangements were made to have an attorney by the name of Merrit Vanniere, a Scientologist, represesent Mr. Cazares and sabotage his case.

The above gives you a clear picture of the daily work of Scientology's Intelligence Bureau.

The disbanding of the G.O. did not change any of this, it operates exactly the same way now. Scientology's criminal intelligence bureau is run by the Religious Technology Center (RTC).

1975

Jacqueline Van Der Linde and others move in to Clearwater, Florida under the cover of a front group called "The United Churches of Florida". Their real purpose is to establish the Flag Land Base there, which they do. Attacks from the Clearwater community result when they learn that the United Churches of Florida is a front for the Church of Scientology.

During this time MSH has several flaps with Pat Broeker over financial matters and she busts him off of several posts. (Pat Broeker is a Sea Org member posted in CMO.)

During 1975 & 1976, while Wolfe and Meisner were stealing IRS documents, Meade Emory is the Assistant to the Commissioner of the IRS. This is important because in 1982 Meade Emory is a co-founder of the Church of Spiritual Technology, which comes to own all of the Scientology copyrights after LRH's death!

30 June 1976

Gerald Wolfe is arrested by the FBI for use and possession of a forged government pass. This eventually leads to a warrant on Michael Meisner, who eventually defected and told them about their criminal actions in the Snow White program. This results in the 1977 FBI raid.
Note: Who tipped the FBI off about Wolfe?
1977

At this time Scientology has two management arms. The Guardian Office for external affairs and the Commodore's Messenger Organization (CMO) for internal affairs. The Guardian's Office was run by Mary Sue Hubbard. CMO ran Scientology itself, under the direct command of LRH, contrary to public statements that he had resigned all management responsibilities in 1966.

7 July 1977

The FBI raids USGO. They obtain box loads of evidence that proves the crimes of Scientology's intelligence bureau. MSH and 10 others are later convicted and go to jail. Thus, the beginning of a group engram was laid in.

LRH and MSH are living together in La Quinta, California at the time. They spend the next week discussing how to handle their legal situation. Then, he leaves La Quinta with Pat Broeker and goes to Sparks, Nevada.

After the raid, the USGO Intelligence bureau had nightly all hands to destroy evidence of crimes in their remaining intelligence files. It went on for months. At the same time, Vicki Aznaran participates in a massive document destruction program undertaken to destroy any evidence that LRH controlled Scientology. Vaughn Young also participated in all of this destruction of evidence.

July 1977

Shortly after LRH arrived in Sparks, cash was needed so Pat Broeker contacted his soon-wife-to-be, who was the Deputy Commanding Officer of the CMO in Clearwater. They arranged between them for Annie to bring one million dollars in cash from the church. Annie brought the cash to Pat in a briefcase, and turned it over to him at an airport.

This is the point where Broeker starts to cut the line between LRH and MSH by editing letters between them. Over time, Miscavige and Broeker systematically eliminate all of LRH's comm lines except their own.

Gradually, every single person with whom Ron has a comm line, including his wife and children, must communicate via the Broekers. Finally, the Broekers are the only ones in direct comm with Ron.

1977

The IRS issues a notice of deficiency (regarding tax exemption) to the Church of Scientology of California. CSC appeals the decision.

2 January 1978

LRH arrives back in La Quinta and MSH has to leave because she is under FBI scrutiny.

1978

In Founding Church of Scientology v Webster, the church sued FBI director William Webster, alleging that the FBI was harassing Scientologists for no permissible reason.

The church filed this complaint in 1978, the same year in which MSH and eight other high ranking Church officials admitted in a plea agreement that "the network of Scientology organizations had conducted a broad campaign against US government entities particularly the IRS." The court noted that the same government investigations the Church complained about were justified by, and a result of, the church's own illegal behavior.

1978

LRH is convicted in absentia in Lyon, France. Sentenced to 4 years in prison for fraudulent claims he could cure physical illness.

September 1978

LRH has another stroke. (He had his first stroke in June 1975.) Mayo arrived to give LRH assists and LRH was barely conscious. Dr. Denk told Mayo that LRH could die at any moment because his heart was not beating normally. The assists went on for 3 weeks and from those assists came the seeds that became NOTS.

Ron's illness was an additional excuse to further edit incoming communication to him to keep all this "bad news" off of his lines.

NOTS is released this year.

April 1979

Mayo goes to Hemet, California and gives LRH assists again because LRH had just had a cancer operation on the front of his head. They work together on refining NOTS.

Mid 1979

Annie Broeker is working for CMO in Clearwater. MSH is also there operating out of the G.O. Annie is meddling in G.O. affairs and MSH eventually has had it with her and forces her off post. Annie is then sent back to INT as useless on management lines.

1 September 1979

A major change in church management takes place. The Commodores Messenger Org International takes over all church management and the Watch Dog Committee is set up.

LRH orders that messengers who hold management posts are not to stand watches for him, leaving them free to hold their management position full time. He ordered to send two messengers to work with him on a permanent basis who are of no great value on management lines. The two people chosen are Pat and Annie Broeker.

David Miscavige is posted as Action Chief in CMO International.

15 December 1979

LRH executes a will. Ron's tax lawyer, Norton S. Karno is named as Executor.

Soderqvist1: the remote-viewing program is not scientific proven!
Why don’t the author of this book, or the Time Line mentioning that there exists disconfirming evidence?

James Randi Encyclopedia remote viewing
This phenomenon first became a celebrated subject after parapsychologists Harold Puthoff and Russell Targ published a scientific paper which reported on experiments in which a remote location had been chosen, an experimenter visited there, and a subject recorded his or her psychic impressions of the spot. Their results seemed to prove that a "remote sensing" faculty did exist. Subsequently, properly controlled tests were done by several other researchers, eliminating several sources of cuing and extraneous evidence that had been present in the tests. These new tests produced negative results. The data of Puthoff and Targ were reexamined by the other researchers, and it was found that their students were able to solve the locations without use of any psychic powers, using only the clues that had inadvertently been included in the Puthoff and Targ transcripts.
http://www.randi.org/site/index.php/encyclopedia.html

Soderqvist1: I have seen him on the TV, the retired stage magician James Randi bend a teaspoon with his will, and ask his pupils sarcastically do you want to be tricked again? And then con them with his stage magic, and he, and similar minded people, has said that it is very unlikely super natural power exist, because it means that scientific laws are false, and, must be rewritten, and nobody has the faintest clue how to do that!

An Encyclopedia of Claims, Frauds, and Hoaxes of the Occult and Supernatural by James Randi
Parsimony Aside from its usual meaning of "frugality," this word expresses a very important philosophical and logical concept. Also known as Occam's (or Ockham's) razor, it is a philosophical principle usually credited to William of Occam (1285-1347/9), and Galileo used it when he preferred the heliocentric solar system over a geocentric one. Sir W. Hamilton (1788-1856) stated it: The law of Parsimony [sic], which forbids, without necessity, the multiplication of entities, powers, principles, or causes; above all, the postulation of an unknown force, where a known impotence can account for the effect. (The rule was originally stated by Occam as, "Entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem.") In effect, this rule states that if there exists more than one answer to a problem or a question, and if, for one answer to be true, well-established laws of logic and science must be re-written, ignored, or suspended in order to allow it to be true, and for the other answer to be true no such accommodation need be made, then the simpler----the second----of the answers is much more likely to be correct. Here is an example of a problem: The claim: that a person can cause an ordinary spoon to bend merely by looking at it, using psychic powers that have not been established and which would violate many known rules (conservation and transfer of energy, etc.) and cause those basic laws of science to be rewritten.

There are two explanations available: one says that these basic physical laws have been suspended in this case----a unique event never before known in history----and the other says that the performer has employed sleight of hand and/or deceptive optical principles and/or psychological misdirection to provide the illusion of the spoon bending without the use of ordinary physical force. The second of the two explanations is much more likely to be true. To substitute another phenomenon for the previous example: The claim: that a magician can saw a woman in two pieces and then restore her using special powers that have not been established and which would violate many known rules (physiological, biological, etc.) and cause those basic laws of science to be rewritten. There are two explanations available: one says that these basic physical laws have been suspended in this case----a unique event never before known in history----and the other says that the performer has employed deceptive optical and/or mechanical principles to provide the illusion of the woman having been sawn in two and then restored alive. In this case, which explanation is much more likely to be true? Is the likelihood not just as strong in both cases?

DagwoodGum

Squirreling Dervish

I can see that you have a good handle on the time line, especially that time prior to my entry upon the scene in the late 60's. What are your thoughts that if Nibs was being straight in stating that LRH got involved with drug smuggling that these could be the influences that ultimately took over? I've seen the corrupt machinations of how these organizations work first hand. Let's just say I've been well connected in the Madelin "scene" through marriage for 20 years and I know how they operate, but let me emphasize that I've never become involved in any drug distribution though I've been recruited (many years ago). I won't go to Colombia anymore as a result of realizing how dangerous these people really are nor do I use any of their illicit "products" as it would be detrimental to the solvency and safety of my way of life in the US. Scientology would have been seen as the ultimate money laundering machine imaginable. Couple that with corrupt "government" involvement and you have the foundations for all hell breaking loose, which it did.

The timeline created out of Bare Faced Messiah can be found here:

http://www.xenu.net/archive/books/bfm/timeline.htm

Thanks for this!

WOW! Emma, Veda, anybody?

Read this from the Bare Faced Messiah timeline link that Emma posted:

1951
Apr 12 Sara goes to the press (183),
Apr 23 files for divorce (184).
Hubbard asks Don Purcell from Wichita, Kansas to bail him out (185).
(age 40)
May 4 FBI told of Dn setting up in Wichita (188); Ron invites Barbara; divorce from Sara proceeds.
Jun 9 Sara forgives debts and grants divorce in return for custody of Alexis (192).
Jun Dn conference sparsely attended; Science of Survival published (194); Helen O'Brien's account.
Mary Sue Whipp (age 19) arrives as Dn student and moves in with Ron (195); Perry Chapeldaine's account.
Aug Another medical exam for the Veterans Administration.
Hubbard and Purcell fall out over finances and "past lives" (197).
Nov "Allied Scientists" mass-mailing backfires, attracts FBI and mail fraud investigation (198).

The part I marked in red is what I would like to know more about. I think this is the same thing mentioned from this letter here and if you haven't read this letter then please do it as it is maaaaaaarvelous, darlink!

Meanwhile, in Wichita, Hubbard made two million dollars, and spent three million. He had purchased, not one, not two, but three formula 1 cars, and was tuning them up for racing; (he was going to enter the races himself, but Purcell talked him out of that, on the basis that he was too important to Dianetics to risk his life thus). He also devised the "Scientists of the World" scheme, about which I know little; Purcell never gave me any details, but merely said that it was a barefaced con, and it cost him a LOT of money to keep Hubbard out of jail. Every week, on Wednesday night, Hubbard would give, to students and staff, a lecture on the subject of the latest techniques he had developed from the ongoing research program (although Waldo Boyd said, "I don't know where he's doing the research; I never catch him doing any!") Wally was the Editor of Foundation Publications, and, as Jim Pinkham called him, "A Good Boy Scout."

I think these are the same thing - anybody know what the hell that was about?

Ron the Con.

**************************************************

UPDATE:

Looks like I found an answer from here:

Hubbard broke initiates his Allied Scientists of the World scheme

"Ron decided acute measures were called for to raise cash and initiated his Allied Scientists of the World scheme. It was a money raising scheme launched independently by Ron from Denver, Colo. Ron solicited funds thru the mails from many scientists, including scientists working on secret Government projects. The Department of Justice became very much interested in his activities and took a dim view of the whole thing. Ardent work on the part of the Foundation staff and particularly on the part of Jean Moore finally got the mess straightened out.

"Our creditors were still pressing hard and finally threatened a liquidating receivership for the Foundation. To escape this litigation, Ron quit the Foundation. He released all his interest in the Foundation, implied and contractual, gave all his stock back to the Foundation. and resigned. Ron did this to set up a screen between himself and the creditors. From his subsequent actions, it seems that his reasons were more deeply seated than he would have us believe.

I think this is pertinent to any timelines that mention Lisa McPherson and it's from here:

Rathbun and others say Miscavige was in Clearwater in 1995 to launch “The Golden Age of Tech,” an initiative aimed at raising the quality and precision of auditing at Scientology’s mecca.

Rathbun said he was assigned to help. Miscavige would look in on parishioner auditing sessions from a control room with video feeds from multiple counseling rooms.

One of the parishioners was Lisa McPherson.

“He’s watching live with the videocameras every session that she’s in and (supervising), saying ‘Do this next, do that next’ and so forth,” said Tom De Vocht, a top church executive in Clearwater who has since left the church and is speaking out for the first time.

The folder containing records of McPherson’s auditing history came in and out of Miscavige’s office, said De Vocht, whose office was next door and who had overseen a renovation of the leader’s living quarters.

Don Jason, then a high-ranking officer at the Clearwater spiritual headquarters, said he saw Miscavige take off his headphones and say McPherson had achieved the state of clear in a previous session. Jason, 45, said he saw the leader write a note that McPherson’s auditor would read to her, informing her of her new status.

Scientologists who are “clear’’ don’t go psychotic, Jason said, so for a person to have a breakdown so soon after was a “huge problem.’’

Church officials say De Vocht and Jason are wrong. “I can tell you that’s utterly, totally false,’’ said Angie Blankenship, a top administrator in Clearwater from 1996 to 2003.

“I was here. Chairman of the board (Miscavige) wasn’t even here at the Flag land base during that time. He’s a liar. Never happened.”

Yingling and church spokesman Tommy Davis also said Miscavige was not in Clearwater at the time, and they say they have minutes of meetings he attended in California to prove it. They also question how De Vocht and Jason, almost 14 years later, could remember anything about a woman who then was just another parishioner.

Jason said the moment stood out because staffers require special training and refresher training to be able to identify when someone becomes clear. “So it did strike me as like, ‘Wow’?” that Miscavige had that expertise.

Not only that, “I was standing right next to him when it happened,’’ said Jason, who left the church in 1996 but still finds Scientology valuable.

“This is a huge deal,” De Vocht said of Miscavige’s involvement. “There’s no way not to remember it.”

De Vocht said he worked closely with Miscavige during that time. He said the leader zeroed in on McPherson because she was having issues with her counseling and was the friend of a prominent church member.

He said he saw Miscavige view McPherson’s auditing sessions through a video feed and write notations in her counseling folder.

“I watched him personally,” De Vocht said. “A whole bunch of people watched him personally.”

The church’s representatives said there are no notations by Miscavige in McPherson’s file. In any case, they say, Miscavige would have been qualified to supervise McPherson’s case had he been so inclined. “He is an expert in every field,” said Jessica Feshbach, a church spokeswoman.

Rathbun recalled walking through a hallway to the auditing rooms at the Fort Harrison and a woman bursting through a door.

“She’s going, ‘Aaaaaah! Yahoo!’ She’s screaming at the top of her lungs,” he said.

It was McPherson, cheering about the news that she had been deemed clear.

Her accomplishment was celebrated in a ceremony at the Fort Harrison in September 1995. By mid November, she would be back at the hotel, babbling to her caretakers.

And then this from here:

On December 5, 1995, Lisa McPherson was dead on arrival at a hospital 45 minutes north of Clearwater Florida. According to the coroner's report, Lisa was underweight, severely dehydrated, and had bruises and bug bites (see the entire report here). Scientologists chose to pass three hospitals en route to New Port Richey Hospital, where Scientologist Dr. David Minkoff was on duty. They could have gone to Morton Plant Hospital, only six minutes away.

Lisa's last address was listed by the police as 210 S. Ft. Harrison in Clearwater Florida, which is the Fort Harrison Hotel, a Scientology property. Lisa had been a Scientologist from the age of 18 to her death at age 36.

According to Marc Headley's book, Blown for Good, in 1995 Scientology leader David Miscavige publicly stated that he would supervise Lisa McPherson's processing in Scientology (p.177). In the summer of 1995 Lisa had some psychotic problems. In September 1995 she was declared "clear," (allegedly by Miscavige himself) which is a major accomplishment in Scientology processing. In November Lisa began displaying psychotic problems again.

On November 18, 1995, Lisa was involved in a minor car accident. She was apparently not hurt, but she got out of her car and took all her clothes off and seemed mentally unstable. She was taken to a hospital where she was physically evaluated as being unharmed, but the hospital wanted her to be psychologically cared for. However, some Scientologists arrived and stated that Lisa did not believe in psychiatry, and she checked out after a short evaluation and left with the Scientologists against the attending doctor's advice. She went with them to Room 174 of the Ft. Harrison Hotel for "rest and relaxation" according to the church, but church logs from Lisa's stay there from November 18 to her death December 5 show differently. Lisa was put on the Introspection Rundown that Scientology uses to handle those who have had a psychotic break. Some logs are missing, and a high ranking ex-Scientologist has written an affidavit in which he claims that the church has in the past destroyed documents that might get the church in trouble. Marty Rathbun, a former high-ranking Scientologist, revealed that he was responsible for the missing records;

"Rathbun concluded the notes had to go. 'I said, "Lose ’em" and walked out of the room,' he recalled, adding that the decision to destroy the records was his own." (St. Petersburg Times, June 22, 2009)

Did Miscavige's supervision of Lisa's case contribute to her mental problems? Headley says as far as he knew Miscavige was not trained to be a case supervisor (p. 176). "David Miscavige had messed up big time. He knew it, and a lot of people that worked with him, for him and around him, knew it." (p.180)

The family of Lisa McPherson sued Scientology and individuals involved for wrongful death, while Scientology claimed it did nothing wrong toward Lisa. Former Scientologist Mark Fisher claims that Scientology used operatives to prevent some former members from helping the prosecution. Settlement talks were completed after being forced by the court, (Civil Case settled 5/28/04). Scientology had a web page (removed or moved) that smeared Lisa's aunt and attorney.

On November 13, 1998, Scientology was indicted on 2 felony charges in Lisa's death. On December 6, 1999, prosecutor Bernie McCabe presented a response to Scientology's attempt to get the case dismissed.

On June 12, 2000 the criminal charges were dropped against Scientology because (so the prosecutor claims) the medical examiner could not be counted on to confidently testify, even though the criminal charges were abuse of a disabled person and practicing medicine without a license. You can read much of the Clearwater police department's evidence and Scientology's logs of Lisa's stay, view some of the autopsy photos, and decide for yourself. Then ask why Scientology now makes members sign a waiver specifically against suing Scientology over the Introspection Rundown:

Lisa clause or Lisa McPherson clause: an adhesion clause to insulate one party from all damages, including personal injury or death, from known and unknown conduct of commission or omission of the party so released. An "adhesion clause" is a recognized legal term which means "take it or leave it", i.e., that the party signing the agreement has no bargaining power and therefore no alternative but to include the clause in the agreement.

Scientologist OT 8 Dr. David I. Minkoff had his license suspended on August 3, 2001 for one year and was fined for prescribing medicine to Lisa without even seeing her at the request of Lisa's "caretakers."

Scientology conducted a survey in the Clearwater area that shows 4 out of 5 residents have a negative opinion of Scientology. They tried to use this for a time as a reason for a change of venue, then withdrew the request. Why do Scientology web sites claim that Scientology and Clearwater have good relations?.

Was Nibs being straight re. his father's involvement with drug smuggling? Simple answer: I don't know.

I do know, however, that virtually every other "outrageous" assertion made by Nibs - from his father's practice of self hypnosis to his father's use of drugs - has since been confirmed by court's evidence, other evidence, and/or by reliable witnesses.

And I do know that Hubbard was willing to engage in risky activities if he saw a possible benefit (in this case it would have been $$$) to himself.

However, I've never seen any evidence or heard any testimony or descriptions from anyone saying that Hubbard engaged in drug smuggling.

So, I'd put that one on the "back burner" for the time being, as we only have Nibs' word for it.

I've read everything he wrote and watched all the videos and my impression is that Nibs told the truth and just about all the truth, including many things that told against his own integrity and were all the more likely to be true. What did he have to lose?

Where he loses me is with the magical manipulations but I have no doubt he experienced what he experienced.

As for drug-running, why is Freewinds spending weeks at a time in Colombia? Just to spread TWTH? Really? Such kind people.

I came upon this item which is a rather interesting time line, but it was lacking the attachments (has OCR errors)

It is fodder for a web page if someone wants to put one up, find and link the reference documents.

I would do it myself, but am a bit busy.

As a matter of fact, I could use help from people in the Pacific Northwest including Idaho, and any readers who live in Canada and are willing to send an email or two.

Much thanks for all who have helped in so many ways, particularly those who worked on the recent jury list.

History of CoS Covert & Harassment Operations

1972: Author Paulette Cooper is set up on bomb threat charges after CoS uses stationary she touched. She wasn't exonerated until 1977 when the FBI raid found docs referencing this CoS covert operation. (Informer p.3; Time, p.57)

1973: "Operation Snow White" is started by the Guardian's Office (GO) to "root out" files on CoS held by government and other institutions.

So I know some of you may not appreciate these long posts but I think it relevant that they get preserved. Many times I've gone back to find websites and such and they are gone; therefore, I posted these.

This one was serendipity as I was actually searching for something else.

Once again, this one is suspect because it mentions Fishman and that material is fake, IMHO.

1977?1985: CoS witness Martin Samuels is coached to commit perjury in Christoffer son case (Inet #19).

???

Martin Samuels left $cientology in 1982.

Perhaps Samuels was coached to commit perjury in 1977 in another case, but the Christofferson case was not until 1985, long after Samuels was out.

Re: Criminal timeline of Scientology + the Legal Redress of "Ron Doings"

I have to toss this in the ring of consideration.
As long as we're dealing with a scam organization from the get go, what surprises me is that they never took the scam to the next level and sued "themselves", i.e. the church, for egregious "Ron Doings" upon themselves and each other in order to walk off with tax free millions in settlement dollars as their final paycheck for sticking with the scam all these years... Or did they? Lots of people got bought off and are silent now, all part of the grand plan? Oh shame on me, only a "conspiracy theorist" would even entertain such thoughts, LOL... Wait, maybe it's not so funny or unlikely.
