I never was sure if he was in although I know he participated in some Scientology activities. I am pretty sure that people on this board have said his daughters were active.

Anyways, any of you guys out there.....what exactly was he trying to accomplish with the ropes? For the life of me, I can't figure it out. Anyways, this is sad- I loved Kung Fu when I was a kid

He was trying to get a better orgasm.

Due to the fact that he was found naked with a small rope around his neck and genitals, the cause of death is suspected by some to be a case of auto-erotic asphyxiation gone wrong.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auto-erotic_asphyxiation
Deaths often occur when the loss of consciousness caused by partial asphyxia leads to loss of control over the means of strangulation, resulting in continued asphyxia and death.

I am not familiar with these practices so I wonder why he did this in a closet.

The rope around his neck might have been passed over the clothes rail in the closet to give a strangulation effect.

According to him, he wasn't. This thread is a duplicate.

I have a couple of his tai Chi DVD's. Which are really good. I find it hard to believe he would die that way.
He was on British tv a couple years ago on the Jonathan Ross show. David admitted to having over 1,000 LSD trips. Found that hard to beleive also.

David's latest wife (No. 5) Annie & 3 daughters are Scientologists. David has long said in interviews his interest in Scientology reigned from what he described as Eastern philosphies in L. Ron's writings.

David had to play the game to avoid disconnection. I suspect it was the same dynamics I saw in Mike & Cathy Rinder's marriage.. 2 people with different levels of devotion in Scientology.. one afraid of the other saying something that's going to cause them grief and potential career-killer the church. Eventually, they divorced before Mike blew.

He was a B-list actor who probably enjoyed the celebrity pampering & attention he received at the Manor.

He was a great actor who deeply touched the lives of millions of people. Very few actors aspire to that level of achievement in their craft.

He did this mostly through TV in the series called "Kung Fu".

He was most famous as a TV actor, but TV actor does not equal "B List" actor.

B List actors don't affect millions of peoples' lives through their acting. That's why they are called B list actors.

Absolutely! This was no B movie actor. The lessons to be learned from the Kung Fu series touched many people's lives, including my own. I've forgotten them all now but at the time they had an effect.

If Kung Fu has touched your life, then I am now worried about myself.

........people around Scientology die.

Everone dies, but people around Scientology die in really strange ways. With odd timing.

RIP...David Carradine.

I heard on a radio report that his wrists were tied as well. Can someone please explain to me how you tie your wrists, your neck and genitals all together ?
What's the proper order to tie all this up? Start with the genitals? Start with the neck?

When you have everything well tied up, why would you want to go in the closet? How do you get there ? By hopping ? Wouldn't that kind of tug the privates ?

Also, if the intent is self pleasure, does it really work better if you tie both of your wrists together ?

Please explain that one to me !

BTW, the family is requesting the FBI to investigate.

I would think another person had to be in the room. It's quite possible it was a prostitute and when the stunt went bad, he/she moved Caradine in the closet.

I hope they find an e-meter in the room !

Be careful what you wish for. OSA may have planted a Guy Fawkes mask at the scene. As much as I want the evil scam cult exposed, I hate seeing this tragedy being turned into the worst possible remembrance of a talented and productive artist. It just makes the whole thing much more sad.

Let's try and set our own agendas aside and let David Carradine rest in peace.

Hey AO — It is standard grammar to not put a space before the "?". Did you think we have all been doing it wrong? I've been meaning to ask this for months.

Wasn't he sitting in the closet? I would imagine he'd been there all along, assuming it was a big-ass rich guys' closet and not the piddly little thing I'm used to. Big-ass closets have nice solid bars to hang hangars on, that will take a lot of weight, not like the dinky little twigs in mine. Hotel rooms don't generally have many good solid horizontal bars in them to loop ropes over. Maybe just in the KKK Suite.

You're probably right! For as far back as I can remember, I always put a space before the question mark and exclamations. Maybe I learned that in French. It makes sense since we don't put a space before the period.

You've tought me something!

I had a great raid today in Tustin. Downloading the videos from my camera now to see what I got. I'll post if it's not too embarassing!
