She is 24 miles from the US border in an expensive villa (gated community with 24 hour security) on the pacific.
Money is not a problem for them.

Would it be rude to ask for a doc? A video of her at home (not wearing the uniform of domestic help would be good :)

really ? if thats the case why not live in the US then?

My theory is that part of her deal with the devil miscavige is to remain out of the US, at least for a predetermined period of time.

I think both of you have made great observations. It is way cheaper to live in Mexico, AFAIK. I'm sure there are expensive places there, but, still, I bet overall/in general, way cheaper than in the US.

But then again, there could be other reasons for not wanting to be in the US, like a deal with DM.

This is quite interesting, either way.

so the theory is that she received a whole boatload of cash from the cofs - oodles of it and chooses to live outside the US because that's the deal she made with Miscavige? And in celebration of that she rents places in such wonderful havens as Martinique and Baja? Choices behind speaking French (apparently that was a major hurdle for them - who would have guessed? Oh wait - me) or staying out of a drug war? Much has been made of the idea that where they are now is a three hour drive from LA and how that would make it easier to meet Marty - whoever that was seems to forget that Marty lives in Texas...

So if the idea was to be close to the USA why the side trip to Martinique? Was that just a dumb move by Dumb and Dumberer? If it is to be closer to Marty but outside the US why not the Mexico Texas border?

Sorry - none of it makes a whole lot of sense. Why would MIscavige want her outside of the US - because he thinks email servers don't work in foreign countries?

If she has all this money why not pick somewhere that is a whole lot friendlier to expats - Panama for example? Costa Rica? Honduras? There are many countries around the Caribbean that offer great places and large expat communities.

So either Debbie and Hubby are dumbasses - not unlikely I must admit - or they are on a budget of some kind because the choices they have made up to now don't come across as the "rich persons guide on picking great places to hang out".

Better yet, make DM Bubblegum -- WE can chew him up, pop the bubble and spit him out!

I never said they had a boatload of cash. But she obviously has enough to spend 2-3k a month on that rental villa as that is what those units rent for. I would assume the settlement has been safely put into an annuity that pays them so much per month, etc.
As far as Debbie and Wayne's location choices, I have no clue what they are up to. I know if I had say, 5-7K per month to live on, I would certainly make different choices than they are.
But then, Debbie and Wayne's motives are probably a lot different than mine would be. (I would prefer shooting dove in Argentina, or having a small farm in central Equador)

I don't trust Debbie. But it could be that she and Wayne are just reeling from this whole thing and making weird decisions without any real foresight. But more likely I think they are spending plenty of time scheming. I doubt it has anything to do with Marty. He doesn't want anyone trying to take his paper crown away from him.

Or maybe she and Wayne have had one too many mojitos and really are dumbasses.

    You could be right.

I do not like Debbie at all - and I know her so this is not just "dislike at a distance". I despise her and her husband for their willingness to live off the backs of the ordinary scientologists. She has spent a lifetime basically squeezing blood from people and, apparently, is quite content to continue to do so as long as she gets taken care of in some fashion.

As far as I can see she is just a tick.

Well, I can understand that. I don't like her either (and I don't know her personally).
But I do find her of particular interest because I think she is still dangerous. I am just not sure to who yet. I agree with your tick assessment. She could have refused to settle. She still would have probably walked away with a nice judgement and the freedom to speak. And then maybe she could have worked to atone for a tiny piece of her own multiple crimes.
It did not take her long to clam up when she saw the benefit for herself. And the fact that they put out this strange travel blog is weird too.

I am still waiting for her to make up the damage she has done to all those people she helped disconnect from their families, becuase she is such a great follower of L Ron Blubbard.

And now it seems that being a professional poker player who is running from the law is OK and romantic. When she was in the SO that would be out exchange. Yet she still considers herself a Scientologist

IMO---Debbie Cook is a piece o S..t who has only done one thing in her life...Lookout for herself and justify whatever she does. A true Scientologist

If she believes in the ways of Blubbard then get back to work and make up the damage.

If she doesn't say "I don't follow these Scientolgy rules any more" and continue what she is doing.

    Business as usual.

    "Hey everyone! We're winning!"

    Scientologists are always winning.

    Because they use the "tech".

    Ron's "tech".

The same "tech" that they used to terrorize others and now terrorizes them.

    It's a win. Really!

I don't care if she likes Hubbard or not. I know lots of people who like Hubbard's stuff who would never ever treat people like Cook does. She's out of CofS, I guess, (who can be sure?) but she doesn't appear to be sorry for the insane and toxic regging.

I know lots of Scn'ists who, having left the cult, would never ever support such regging endeavors.

And this still sounds like a "remittance man" situation, so to speak.
