Oh my God, I freaking LOVE the Monique!! So jealous. That looks all swashbuckling and bodice ripping! And the Gabriella is just gorgeous also! That purple will look really pretty on you, I think! Purple is an awesome colour (if I do say so myself)! Lol!!

Purple has always been my favorite color. I think half of my tops are purple. Almost like Charlie Brown with a closet full of the same shirt.

And the nail polish I almost always wear is purple, red, blue or pink. But I wear purple at least half of the time.

I was wearing purple nail polish in that pic of me at Nancy's earlier in this thread (to go with my purple earrings, purple dress, purple shoes, purple tights, purple bra and purple undees). Other than that I wore no purple.

Oh and also, you would look really good in the Monique (in purple passion or purple fuchsia of course). Actually you'd look great in any of them.

Every woman needs to find herself a good tailor. Watch that show about how to dress, baggy makes us bigger... but as each body is different, where to stitch in and where to let it loosen is a job for the professionals. I had a good woman at my dry cleaners in CA. haven't found one out here yet, but she told me she can fix ANYTHING on a pair of pants, except the crotch. So if you lik ethe pants and the crotch fits, get them.

I was surprised to find out that tailors are do not have to be expensive....
nance:eyeroll:
i agree well tailored clothes are great, but bigger isn't better or worse. and i think a big mistake women make is wearing clothes too tight, even skinny women...flowing clothes are more comfortable, so i mean really... isnt that better?

there may be a reason to try not to breathe, clothes arent one of them;

Yes, and I was going to add...what is the material in the gown?? Rayon? Or a cotton/rayon blend? :confused2: (take a look at the label)

You should never have anything altered until you have rinsed it or laundered it first...there is usually a chemical "sizing" in the material, and the fabric won't drape right until you wash it out...even to rinse it a few times in clean cool water.

Also...rayon "blooms" or "breathes" in water and the weave gets looser or tighter when gently washed a few times...and usually the garment will be more comfortable and also will hang on your frame better, after rinsing or washing.

You can tell a big difference in the feel and look of the way the fabric hangs and drapes on you, before and after you get the "sizing" out of it.

I LOVE to sew! :happydance: I used to make almost all my own clothes...back in my hippie days.

I think that gown looks great on you, Denise! I wish I was close enough to help you do some minor alterations to help get the fit just right...

The "handkerchief hem" blouse is a very flattering cut. But I've liked all the choices you've shared with us so far. :)

And here we are, the dynamic duo. That's me on the right:

Oh! I love it!!! I look like I'm contemplating eternity, there on the left! LOL!!!

Here is the night muse coming to wish us sweet dreams of flight!

Oh Sweetness, thank you for those wonderful tips and thoughts.

The gown is made of 100% rayon.

I did wash it and it is hanging up. It appears to have these smallest of "winkles" all through it as if that was how the gown was intended to look.

Oh I wish you lived close too and were able to help on the minor alterations. That would have been so much fun for me.

But I am just going to go with how it looks now and I plan to wear it the Saturday night of the SP Party. I may look like "the-girl-that-thought-it-was-a-costume-party-only-to-arrive-and- find-out-it-was-not", but hey what the heck it's not like I have exactly lived the life of conformity anyway.

So lookout SP Party "Juliet", without her Romeo, is in the building!!!

Oh, I just tried to play that and they said they couldn't find it. I'm glad you are playing your music again, though. Glad to hear Q is coming also!!
I think my sound cloud is a little screwed up right now. I decided to upload a bunch of my songs. It seems to be overloading even my desktop. The lullabye, was the song I played as soon as I found out I was pregnant with her, (Q) many years ago. It isn't new. But I did play my piano yesterday, and later I talked to Denise on the phone. That girl is a gigglebox;):happydance: It was a lot of fun. I am so happy to have some new girlfriends! https://soundcloud.com/victoriapandora/lullaby-for-tess maybe it will work now, not sure. the thing about synthesizer with a programmer is you can structure the sound from scratch, starting with the basic sound waves... and yes, as soon as I left the church I sunk myself in debt to the tune of five thousand dollars for a full studio. Best five thousand I ever spent.

That was almost unearthly and so beautiful! My spine literally tingled! What a lucky little girl to be in your belly surrounded by that music and love. Maybe that is partly why she is the person she is... beautiful and incredibly funky! I think I said before that I loved sleeping in that room when I stayed with you. There is something of those girls upstairs there I think.

So glad you and Denise got to chat! And happy, happy Ciderday! Lol! It will always be Ciderday to me now!
