Well I'm not at all convinced Marcia's last name was "Glorious". Butt! I certainly can tell you she definitely had a glorious pair of bazookas.

I can't come up with Marcia's last name-so Glorious might as well be what we call any "hottie"-the hottie in the above photo needs a new face-ah- you forgot to look at her face--bad boys of fcdc don't look at faces nor remember last names-a new OT ability has arisen !!!!

Ya, I remember David quite well. He married what's-her-name, from Baltimore...Marcia. Marcia, what was your last name?

Dave inherited a hunk of $$$, dumped a hunk into the cult, started buying stuff including I think it was a Ferrari which broke down somewhere traveling in Canada so they just left it there, dumped it.

Sheesh.

As to where he and Marcia went from that point, I donno.

And "Speed" was his actual middle name.

please. save one suffers hot pursuit one does not "dump" a Ferrari. however not only is it cavalier to leave one of Enzo's larks en pris it gives one the sort of rep to walk into someone's shop in a strange town and find oneself already named on the preferred customer list...

ahh...

marcia

was a sweetheart

thoroughbreds touts and grooms

marcia loved a day at the track in the sun

cash flashin' parimutual totin' clubhouse turn

Sweetheart loves a day in the sun at the track

jockey and riding crop photo finish

marcia was a sweetheart and when Speed blew through you could hear a raucous rendition of edie adams "A Man Of Distinction" rattling from her reflections on a windowpane

Interesting. I knew Dave Ream but not this info, or maybe I forgot it. Bet he wishes he had bought gold now instead of "scientological services."

cheeses!

you are all a pack of cynics.

you know what a cynic is?

a cynic is "a person who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing"

yes, predictably you all look at Speed's donations as a con job. well yes, perhaps to one degree or another it was. i know what i was doing at fcdc was worthy of the donation of inherited bucks. hells bells what i was doing was worth the donation of earned income. not only that there was incontrovertible evidence what pandora was doing was worthy of charitable support. i even suspect some others of intelligent and intentional pro bono activity.

now the thing that was funky...

pressed for time. be back tommorrow

All I ever did at FCDC was be a misguided and quite lost soul.

like hell

just for one thing, you done played a sazzaphone also a flute. you used to run up staircases which besides being good personal aerobics energized the joint. and as much as i enjoyed being on the cans with you it pales utterly with having had you on the cans which constituted a modestly profound mentoring. and led to a friendship delightfully renewed in the late 70's in philly when you published the golden troubadour and at last report had just finished "the king's long journey" chapter of it's sequel set in the heartless heart of the black galaxy titled "the ari'el" whose publication is still awaited so what happened to it already?

and you have perhaps not noticed numerous decades later affirmations freely given of the extorted success stories of former preclears?

i'm not disputing you were and are a misguided and lost soul but you did and continue to do a crackerjack job of it

now put on some krupa and loosen up

Wasn't Marcia Quinn the little blonde cutie? She was in Div 6.

yeah...

see, she was the true eye of the hurricane. i never got to know her but i saw her around and there seemed a sweetness and common decency to her which bespoke a spawning among those whose faces turn to the one who is ancient of days who would send their eagles to her mountain whose angel would paint a story on her wall with glorious and ream as leading dramatis personae of her own destined and greater deliverance...

"...the wheel turns. there we are, an illusion reflecting other relentless and beautiful illusions..." gary johnston

but i digress...

so anyway the funky thing with ream's $ ...

one day i ran into one of beloved fellow posters who wishes to remain anonymous outside of the exam room in Qual and he had a big (shiteating) grin on his face and a routing form in his hand and in a moderately advanced condition of glee he proceeds to tell me how he just as a "superliterate" just checked off all the items on the checksheet of one of the (totally horsecrap) "mini-courses" being offered at the time and he was doing the routing form to produce a Paid Comp.

????????????

well of course staff members then as now were normally given "the mushroom treatment"; keep 'em in the dark and feed them shit but i managed to thread together a few odd bits of information and it seems Speed had kicked down several K dinero earmarked as scholarship $. the licciardis had gone off to the appollo and cheryl now a roving missionaire was back in dc and had organized a clusterfuck to quickly turn the fund into paid comps without the dev-t of actual production.

of course it did not take long on staff to come across The Admin Scale with Stats quite properly listed second from the bottom to illuminate the already quickly gained impression that stat pressure was a slapstick "tail wagging the dog" condition but this really rankled. DORKBRAINS! ya got some scholarship $ you pack the academy.
there are always underemployed talents floating around amurrican streets who make prime candidates for half price academy levels. in point of fact the humongous fcdc boom was sparked by a short term special offer just before i arrived in the summer of '72. the academy was packed by offering a free HGC drog rundown to anyone who bought the academy levels. far too big a giveaway really but it still generated much more than it cost.

and shortly after sheryl moved on there was a flag issued comendation for the wench stating that everywhere she went the stats went up.

Really? *facepalm*

I think he'd go "Dianetics is a steaming pile of mind-fuck. Too bad so many have tried to make it work."
GBS was not an idiot, suspecting what he might have thought is sort of meh imho.

(and yes, I have waded my way through a goodly portion of Hubbard's turd-fest~ :puke2:

hey!

the best thing i got out of that ship of fools was my own hindquarters

but...

no, i am not about to deny the very real value and virtue of proper training and application.

i think my experience with scn and dn is different largely by reason of my very firm judeo-christian sensibilities. a religious tradition which did give europe the dark ages,
five million heretics burned at the stake, the dungeons of torquemada, and was undeniably complicit in the ovens of auschwitz historic realities which somewhat more than dwarf rpf and overboarding. also i grokked the first ten amendments on sight in fifth grade was enthralled by them with a passion greater than my love of my own life which i affirm as a veteran of The United States Army and perhaps some readers of this thread will recall that when obergruppenfuhrer wisner challenged my personal integrity in this regard i spun him around "like i was a hillbilly moonshiner ditching revenuers with a bootlegger turn on a moonlit smoky mountain backroad and he was a stroked and bored '39 plymouth with a jerryrigged tank full of white lightning." and i also produced a readable piece of fiction unequivocally expressing my sentiments concerning what was apparently a GO return stroke. and i also was well innoculated against some of the common diseases of metaphysical inquiry by deropp's seven syndromes elucidated in "the master game"

i would not and did not drink the koolaid when i was active and i remain unabashed in stating there is a wine worth the fermentation and the savoring.

but...

beware...

i cannot affirm the letter of mystic's contention mr elray is the conjured entity of vampiric entities of a lower astral realm but personal experience does affirm the existence or tangibly apparent existence of such a degree of malign and maleficent spiritual forces.

Raise your "right hand" if you miss the HOTTIES !
They were the best part of being on staff at ole FCDC, okay if you raise your " left hand" that will also work-in fact if anything gets a rise on your body-that to will work.

Commander I sure don't know how you get cynic out of what I wrote. I recently inherited an estate and I sure as hell did not go out and blow it on anything. I have been very careful with it, and no salesfucker is gonna get his hands on it. Cynic? no I am someone who has seen enough life to know what is important. Perhaps you do not know the meaning of life.

My comment was concerning today, right now, I wonder if Ream does not think of what he could have done with the money instead of burn it at the org.

I occasionally think the money they bilked me out of could have become quite an investment, BUT I do not dwell on it. Have done well in spite of that disgusting place.

Of course anyone may do with their own property whatever they would like, but a bit of wisdom never hurts. A kid that comes into money, or a pro athlete or other superstar, just as likely would blow it all and be destitute many years later. I speak as a nearly 60 year old fardt who sees the big picture.

I guess I am reading you wrong...have you or have you not grown up since 1970?
